Soft white clouds floated over the sea as ships sailed. One ship had a precious cargo on board that must be delivered to Sahova soon if the captain wanted to get paid. Turning the wheel of the ship he turned towards Mura. Looking up at the sky the man was happy to see that there was still no clouds in sight. There was even a good wind in their favor. A call from the crows nest caught the man's attention making him look up to where his man was.

“Aye, lad! What is it?” the old man called looking up to the young boy.

“A pod of whales, Sir! They are off their normal pattern!” The young one shouted.

Looking ahead of the bow, the man gasped and turned the wheel hard barely able to dodge the beautifully powerful creatures. The ship groaned under the sudden turn action trying to move around the animals of the sea. Once out of the motion the captain sighed feeling the ship go back straight again. The old man let his navigator hold the helm before walking to the back side of the vessel looking at the retreating figures. Confusion swirled inside of the man as he watched the creatures. They were farther west than they should have been. Peering up at the boy again he let out a call.

“Aye! Make sure to watch the water closely! The stupid creatures are too close to the trade routes!” He called before walking down the steps and into his quarters, “agh stupid creatures have thrown us off course.”

The man sat down behind his desk looking at his maps thinking. He marked out the sharp turn and found that instead of going towards the north; they were now headed for the Southern tip of the isle. With a growl the man stroked his beard while thinking. Turning around would take too much time and cause the cargo to bounce around too much. Sighing he got up as his joints ached and popped under protest. Walking out he returned to the helm once more.

“Should we turn sir?” the young man asked his captain.

“No, it will add several bells to our journey; but let us continue this course,” he countered.

True to the man's words several bells had passed as the ship sailed on the east side of Konti Isle. The crew became restless ready to get to land soon. The man called out for silence and explained that in just a few short bells with the heavy gust pushing their sails to full, the ship would hit the top point of the Isle. Once there they would turn to the west and make the short trip around the top of island and be back on course in no time. Resounding cheers filled the air as the crew went back to their work. A tight knot formed in the old man's stomach as he looked ahead of them. Something did not feel right, but he was unsure of why it felt so wrong. Sighing gently later on the man allowed his first mate to take over, so that he could sit and rest his bones. Returning to his quarters the man sunk down into his chair with a heavy sigh rubbing his face.

“I cannot keep going like this. I am far too old to work on this ship like a young man. Sailing is for younger men than I,” he said.

A gasp left his mouth as he nearly fell backwards as the ship jerked to the side. Scrambling up he rushed outside and back to the helm demanding an explanation. The sight before him caused great concern in the man. Moving quickly he helped get the wheel turned as far as it would go to the right. Unfortunately the measure was too late. An orca slammed right into the bottom of the ship nearly causing it to turn over. Panting he looked up to the young boy in the crow's nest white as a sheet. Looking in the same direction, the man realized they had turned the wrong way. The ship and crew were headed straight into a large whirlpool. Know he understood why the animals were moving closer to the trade routes. Grabbing hold of the wheel he told everyone to secure the rigging and to secure themselves as well. Steering he hurriedly turned the wheel fighting to make sure, they did not get caught in the current.

“If we don't survive this men! I want you to know I was proud to be you captain!” The old man exclaimed as the ship turned into the current against his will.

It was too late, there was nothing more the man could do to get out of the water's pull. This had truly been their final run together. Spinning down into the vortex of water the man let go and got a hold of a line that had popped loose. Looking at his crew the last thing he saw was a determined, loyal, and strong group of men to back him. In mere seconds the ship was swallowed whole by the sea. The current threw the crew around under water either killing them by force, or by lack of air. The main vessel of the ship began ripping apart causing the cargo to fall. With a thud not heard above the water a create cracked open, and something began to glow ominously just below the tail of the whirl pool.

A calm easy was on the city as the Konti began to awaken and move around preparing for the day. The Mother's Circle awoke and as well getting up and preparing for the day. Within a bell or less the group of women had assembled to discuss the goings of the day. There was not much to do, but wait for any way ward ships to come in carrying goods of all kinds from the mainland. The women sat back talking and laughing enjoying their morning tea and the calmness of the city. As the morning wore on several Konti women dove under the water to meet up with friends and family. Only to be met by a very strange sight, each swam in a different direction dodging a couple of dolphins as they sped past. Regrouping the girls looked at each worried.

Swimming out a little ways from the underwater city the women saw a horrifying sight. Whales were attacking anything that got too close, dolphins swimming in circles, and even the orcas were running like cowards from anything that came too close. Scared the three hurried back towards town, two dove down to the city below, while the other returned to shore. She ran to the center of the city screaming to help.

“HELP PLEASE SOMETHING IS TERRIBLY WRONG!” she cried out close to the home of the Mother's Circle.

A sudden scream caught their attention. Quickly they got up running to action. Hurrying out of the building they gasped seeing a young Konti in hysterics about the marine life acting odd.

“Calm everyone!” One cried out getting everyone's attention, “we will find out what is going on and send out a search party. Make sure all available Konti are at the beach!”

All of the worried citizens scattered talking in low voices. The women stepped inside and sat down closing their eyes to concentrate. One by one each face contorted into that of confusion and worry. Something was wrong, terribly wrong; not a single woman could see anything that was going on. Every set of eyes shot open looking at one another, trying to figure out what was going on.

“We need to consult her,” one proposed looking at the others.

“Yes, I will run and fetch her,” another agreed getting up.

She hurried off to find the beautiful woman who could see what the others could not. Hoping that the elder would have some kind of answer as to what was going on.
