What's Orange and Black with Stripes?

Early Morning.

With a sudden wake, Brocton awoke, heart racing. The hunter had no clue what happened, it was strange, and he had a dream about water. The ocean most likely. From what he remembered, things were crazy, and he was sailing alone, on a boat, by himself, no one else around. Just... just alone. Then the bright creamy/blue sky transformed into a dark thunderous ray of lightning and black winged creatures swooped down. Before anything changed in his dream. He awoke.

His head rested on a bed roll, the cloth was itchy against his back. His shoulder twinged with a small amount of pain, he wouldn't forget that time with Khida and Rufio, when they were out hunting with another group of hunters from the Spitfire.

Surprisingly, they were ambushed by wolves where they stalked the Drykas in the tall blades of grass. One nearly removed his shoulder. His left one to be exact, but the healers at the River Flower had healed it and only scars remained.

Last season, he was taken as well- by those winged beasts. Brocton shuttered at the thought, and ever since their attacks he's been having nightmares of his fears, and he's been lacking quite a bit of sleep, and the only way to maintain his fears if he could conquer them. Though, with the winged beasts- Zith, he wasn't sure how, and he didn't like the water- the Suvan Sea to be exact.

He slowly sat upright, legs stretched out across his bedroll. Three more Drykas resided in slumber adjacent to him. Three were family; mother, father, sister. Oh, he can't forget about his dog, Terrance. Terrance kicked in his sleep, and whimpered, but he kept his distance apart from the Drykas so he won't stir anyone's sleep.

Slowly still, he rose up and kneels, he stood up and yawned. It was partially loud, but his family hadn't heard it, fortunately. He stepped over his sister, Philly, and opened the flap of the tent. The warm summer air... it was warm. It was Winter. Morwen hadn't come yet, and it's been so long since Fall. He was glad that the cold weather hadn't come yet, but he decided to bring his jacket that Naiya made him awhile back. He was dressed, as he sleeps in his clothes; he baths often, and his mother usually cleans his clothes.

While he closed the flap of the tent, Brocton surveyed his pavillion of sleeping family, and neighbors. Wandering around as Syna's light risen over the horizon, the hunter rubbed his eyes, and gathered his hunting things; shortbow, arrows, rations, waterskin, and anything else that he might need.

Jinx neighed, and Brocton nearly forgot about his strider. The Drykas strapped his longsword around his waist, the belt clicked and there was a small satisfied smile that coursed his lips. It made him feel strong, just holding it.

With a few more steps taken across the Pavillion, Brocton wandered over to the posts that tied up the Striders, they weren't tied down too tightly but loose enough where as they could easily escape if something happens. She snorted a bit and shook her head.

"Hey girl." Brocton spoke in a soothing tone, his words stretched in a profound worry, he wondered what was wrong, why was she snorting; it sounded like a snort of disgust, but he couldn't be sure. Brocton walked over to a bag of horse feed and shoveled some with his hands cupped together and fed her. She ate it while she slapped her lips with her wet tongue. Brocton smiled, and once she finished finishing the feed, he wiped his hands on his shorts. "You better now girl?" Jinx shook her head some and bowed, rubbing her head gently against Brocton's.

The hunter nodded and stroked the mane of the strider, a few strokes at a time, and then Brocton mounted the mare. "I think it's time for us to hunt. "The hunter had removed the noose and he tapped the sides of the mare. Ready for the morning.
