Spring 21st, 506 A.V.

"Greeting, one and all!" The voice of Shale Tarren echoed out across The Akeldama Colosseum, "This evening, you shall bare witness as two up and coming fighters duel for dominance!"

That was when suddenly, an aggressively beautiful young woman with long braided red hair stepped onto the red sands of the fighting pit. It was as if the crowd had never seen a young woman go into combat dressed half naked. It was obvious that the woman was prepared for war given the war paint that was draw along her abdomen and face. She wore a thick band of leather around her chest which was the only thing granting her any sense upper modesty other than the long flowing pants she wore.

"Hailing from Wind Reach, she's a tower of strength who can brawl with the best of them... I present to you, Lymera the Scarlet Boar!"

When her name was called, she lifted her hands then spun as she let out a feral yell. It sparked other people in the crowd to respond back with many yells of their own. The call and response from the crown clearly expressed that it was a normal thing she did to speak to her fans. Shale Tarren waited several chimes for the roar of the crowd to dull down before speaking up again.

When all went quiet was when Loken stepped onto the red sands. Unlike when he fought the other day, today he only wore a pair of black linen pants and high boots. Shale Tarren had told him to take off his armor and not use any weapons. When Loken questioned the man further, Shale said he only needed to remove the chestpiece; he still wore the leather vambraces on his forearms, tasset on his upper thighs, and greaves along his legs. Loken decided to go bare chested since he saw no reason in ruining his shirt.

"Now... making his way into the pit. You all saw how he put fear into the Zith! How he killed without mercy. I present to you, a man who holds others lives securely in his hands, The Ebon Lock!"

Loken had learned the other day that Shale Tarren was using him to achieve some type of goal. The Kelvic had started to oversell Loken's ability for some reason. As he looked over at Lymera, he was not sure if it was so the woman would gain more popularity when she beat him, or vice versa? Or was this an even match to find the right tool for Shale to use for the Colosseum owners future schemes? Loken had to push all of those thoughts out of his head as he walked close to the woman he was going to do battle with.

"Clearly physically strong, most likely from a life of hard labor. Appears easily swayed by emotions... a weakness, but not keystone. Shorter, giving me the range advantage."
Loken kept an eye out for any type of advantage that he could use to best defeat her. It looked like she was doing the same thing to him as they both walked within striking distance of each other. Once they were face to face, Shale's voice could be heard one last booming time.

"The rules are simple, last fighter standing is the winner. Weapons are not allowed. Death is also not allowed. If one fighter says that they give up, then the fight is over... let the battle begin!"

As soon as the word battle left Shale's lips, Lymera rolled her left shoulder back then jostled it forward as her arm rocketed out in attempt to slam her knuckles into Loken's face. With all of his focus on her, he saw that attack coming from a mile away. He reacted by lifting up his right leg, the kicking out with his heel in a short and fast, diagonal blunt force to slam the heel of his boot against her right knee; effectively stomping on her kneecap while she was in mid swing.

Loken did not use strength, but the speed of the kick mixed with the natural power of a leg caused Lymera to halt the follow through of her punch. She a good two feet backwards on her good foot, watching as Loken took some type of fighting stance.

He was in a neutral stance when she attacked, but now started to slide his right leg back to take an orthodox right handed combat stance. However, he did not hold his fists up like a pugilist, but instead held them up open handed with his four fingers held tightly together with just a slight bend to his fingers. He kept one slightly back, but pointed the balls of both his hands at her; ready to grab her or parry.

The crowd Immediately spotted the difference in their fighting styles as Lymera slowly started to circle around him like a vulture in the desert. She was clearly someone who grew up trading punches with drunkards and tavern dwellers, while Loken was the type who had some amount of formal training. 'Kick the shyte out'a him!', 'Punch 'er in the boob!', 'Go Red woman!', Loken could hear the mixed feeling of the crowd as he shuffled his feet, his boots starting to make a circle in the sand as he never moved from his sport. He only turned in place to keep her in his eye line at all times.

Lymera was not even being stealthy when she bent down to pick up a handful of sand. "She's going to try to blind me." He barely had time to get that thought across his mind when the woman started to run around him in a circle as fast as she could. Loken did not want to be blinded, but at the same time he could not keep up his stance with her moving that fast. He decided to stay in one place, listening to the sounds of her heavy footfalls as she ran. Whenever she circled behind him, he did his best to gauge if she was trying to close the distance.

Unknown to him, she was gaining on him one small foot at a time.

She remained at the same distance when she circled ahead of him, but cut the distance as she circled around his back; running in an ovoid egg-like shape. That was why Loken misjudged her approach once he realized her footfalls were suddenly closer after her third pass. Then out of nowhere, sand flow over his right shoulder. He reacted by pivoting on his left foot, then lunching his right foot backwards into a back-side kick.

Lymera used the sand as a distraction as he suddenly heard her standing to his left, swinging down at his head with a fist while he was in the middle of kicking. The punch landed squarely against the side of his face, forcing his head to move along the path of her fist as his head whipped downward to the side. It hurt. That much was for sure, but Loken had some amount of training as an Ano cultist to accept pain them move on.

As long as his body could still preform an action, he willed it to move away. It was an awkward thing to preform, but he needed to get out of the way. Loken's head fell near the level of his hips as the punch knocked him off balance, but he let all of his body weight follow the path the punch to send himself into a forward tumble.

The back of his right shoulder landed against the sand as he combat rolled away from her. He landed on his rear-end, with his feet both on the ground in front of him. It was not exactly a low crouch, but he could press his heels to move away if he needed too.

Lymera ran around to his front as Loken was doing his tumble. Then In a move that almost looked like the way he kicked her kneecap, she lifted her leg to try to stomp on the front of his body. His eyes shot up to the figure standing above him, then watched as that foot came down.

Loken lifted his left arm to block the kick. He used his left because the reformed bones in his left forearm from his Severing mark held a more enhanced resistance and density to use for defense. That coupled with the leather armor vembrace meant he had some manner of good defense when in hand to hand combat. It still hurt, it was not like he was an Isur. He slammed his forearm against the frontal area on the ball of her boot, not wanting to block the blunt force in her heel. It forced her foot to flex upwards, causing Lymera to grunt as it focused pain in her ankle.

Even though Loken had managed to block the kick, he held out his open right hand as rigid as possible then thrust a spear-hand strike to the back of the calf of her right leg. Jabbing his finger like daggers into the muscle, then grabbing her calf itself to let his fingernails dig into it. Lymera yelled out in pain as Loken then raked his fingers all the way down her leg, ripping a bit of the fabric of her loose flowing pants.

When Lymera hobbled backwards in attempt to deal with the pain, that allowed Loken a chance to stand up from his half seated-crouch position; his right hand now clutched as scatterings of red sand leaked from it.

"PETCH!" The red headed woman screamed out. "Who scratches someones leg?" Her eyes shifted to Loken as she yelled right at him. He started to feel something drip down the side of his face, then lifted a hand to touch a sore spot right above his left temple. When he brought his hand in front of his face, he could see the red liquid against his finger tips. Her previous punch had opened up a small cut. The bleeding was not directly disturbing his vision, so he ignore it. "Who tries to throw sand in someones eyes in a fair fight?"

Those words were a all lies. Loken would have done the same thing if it was advantageous to do so. In fact, as he closed the distance between them again. He threw a right punch right towards her face as he opened his hand. It caused all the red sand he held to form a red mist around her face that blurred her vision. He had already hit her right knee, her right calf, and raked it. That meant it was the most damaged part of her body. That meant it was also where he focused on attacking... for the most part.

Loken wanted to pay her back for hitting him in the head.

That was why he arched upwards with an uppercut-like motion of his right hand, using the ball of his hand to slam a palm strike against the bottom of her chin along the ridge of her jawline. As her head recoiled from the blow, Loken tried something he did not often do in real combat.

His left arm was in disuse, which meant it was the entire limb he used to draw strength from. Loken willed the identity and substance of what made his Djed allow his muscles to generate power, guiding that essence through the nerves in his left arm, then sent that djed surging down his spine into the nerves of his left leg. Completing a left arm to left leg pathway.

His left arm shook from the sudden absence of strength, feeling as if extreme lethargy had overtaken just that part of his body. He had no real control over the amount of power he drew, so had to first draw strength into his leg, then guided a 'chuck' of that power back into his left arm as to not break his own foot when he kicked her.

Lymera had recovered from the blow but could hardly see Loken as her eyes were still foggy from the sand. She lifted a hand to wipe at her eyes when Loken's left foot erupted from the ground with intense speed and strength. The amount of force that the kick sent through her body surprised even Lymera who did not expect the man to have been as strong as her.

Loken smashed the shin bone of his left leg against the side of the woman's injured leg in a low roundhouse kick. All Loken wanted to do was kick her leg, but was shocked when his kicked swept her leg from under her to send her falling to the ground as she was still blinded from the sand.

Loken's left leg felt like it was about to cramp up soon after he followed through with the kick. Now that he had put his foot on the ground to regain a table foundation, he slowed his breathing as he concentrated on the woman laying on the ground holding her own leg. His chest rose as his lungs filled to its full capacity, then fell as he exhaled. The Ano Cultist focused on his own body as he allowed the excess energy pent up in the pathway of his leg to return to its place where it belonged in his arm. The Flux was the ability to redirect Djed within his own body. And just like a how rivers are blocked once a dam is built, he had to remove that damn to redirect his djed back to its natural place.

Lymera rolled several meters away from Loken since she could not stand. When she finally stopped, she had just manged to regain her sight. She pulled up her pant leg to reveal that the side of it held a bright purple and black bruise. Loken could feel one on his own leg, but it was obviously not as bad as hers since the djed of the flux bolstered the toughness of his leg during the kick.

He watched as she fumbled around as she tried to stand, only manage to do so after falling a few times. Lymera took a posture reminiscent of a crane walking through water which caused Loken to raise a brow. "My next twenty attacks will be devoted to braking that leg you are standing on. I will make sure that you will need to crawl out of this Colosseum. Give up."

Lymera slowly hopped towards him like a crippled grasshopper. He could see that her eyes were filled with determination, which cause him to respect her efforts. "I never give up!" She said aloud, not to him but in a way that seemed like she was trying to motivate herself. Loken took several steps backwards to keep the same level of distance, making all of her hops a mute effort since she would never gain on him. "Tell me, what is Shale up too? How are you apart of it?" The crowd was so loud that all Loken had to do was use his indoor voice and no one other than her could hear the conversation.

The woman kept hopping towards him which cause Loken to reverse their previous roles. He started to run in a clockwise circle around her. Lymera did her best to keep an eye on Lock, but could not keep up. Loken pivoted on one foot when he was behind her to run directly at her. In a move that was less formal and more aggressive, he sung his right foot at the back of her right calf as he ran past her, chop blocking her to swipe that foot from under her.

Loken was not a grapplers, but he did know that it would hurt if he put pressure on her leg. He reached down to grab her by the injured leg, then flipped her so that her face was to the ground. Then in the easiest way he could manage, wrapped his arm around her ankle just like many people would use for headlocks, then gripped the toes of her foot with his other hand to begin twisting her foot painfully in a direction that it was never meant to go. With the ankle lock set in, the crowed seemed to rally behind him as they all came to one sudden amusing irony. And that was that a man named 'Lock' had put a lock on the woman's ankle. It was not as if he was trying to live up to the nickname forced upon him, it just happened.

"Yield. Or tell me what Shale is up too" He said in a low tone while nearly turning her ankle a full ninety degrees. "I don't know what you are talking about!" She yelled as she cried against the ground, pressing down against the ground with both hands to lift her upper body off of the ground. Loken let go of the hand holding her toes to strike down at the back of her calf with another spear hand. Driving his fingers into nearly the exact same spot he had hit before. Loken was not just focused on ending this in the most efficient way possible.

"Then yield this victory, fight another day."

The woman said nothing to him. She just continued to try to struggle against the hold. "Fine." He threw her leg harshly down against the ground, then stomped the back of her head which in turned caused it to buckle against the ground. That rendered her unconscious immediately, satisfying the victory requirements. Loken did not want to harm her any further, but it was clear she was too proud to give up.

Loken had ignored most of the crowd for most of the fight. He found them to be more of a distraction than a motivating factor. When he ran his gaze over them, his eyes stopped on Shale started speaking from a platform above.

"And the victor of this contest is... LOCK!"

When half of the building erupted in cheers, the other half gave him boos of salutations that their fighter lost. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid?" Loken thought to himself about the actions of the Colosseum owner. "It would seem the man is simply an overzealous showman? It would fit, given he needs to show fights that would get people to fill the seats." That was one possibility that he could not overlook.

Since there were people cheering for him, he lifted both of his hands into the air in victory as he set turned to face every direction so they could all see him. Shale gave true meaning to the phrase 'the show must go on' as he started to advertise for the match following his. As he was about to exit from the sands, he took note of the way the crowd cheered far louder than anything he had heard before. It became clear to Loken that his matches were obviously the warm ups for the battle of real champions later that night.
