Gnosis: One mark of Healing

Appearance

It is very difficult to mistake Nahri for anything other than a Konti. Iridescent scales shimmer over her forehead, crowning her slender face. They cascade down her arms and legs too, dusting the tops of her hands and feet, and gleam over her back.

Wide and expressive blue eyes peer from beneath a cascade of long silver-blonde hair. Nahri's skin is pale, as if she has never seen the sun before, and free of blemishes, though pink occasionally blushes her cheeks. The only mark on the Konti is her Gnosis mark, Rak'keli's winged serpents tiwning and shimmering on her left shoulder.

Nahri stands at about 5'6" and is incredibly slender and willowy. What little muscle she has is lean. Indeed it looks as though a harsh breeze might carry her away. It is not uncommon to mistake Nahri for a girl in her teens, though her eyes do show she possess knowledge of an older woman.

Concept

Softly spoken and unassuming, Nahri is a typical Konti in demeanour. She is a healer through and through, infinitely caring and patient, strongly opposed to all and any violence. Helping others is forefront in all that she does, and she often goes out of her way to do so.

Nahri loves the natural world and often spends any time she has alone wandering outside admiring any and all things from the sea, to plants, to birds wheeling overhead. Nahri enjoys beauty, both in nature and in the things that people craft and one day hopes to be able to create beautiful pieces of pottery.

The Konti is fiercely loyal to those she holds dear, be it her friends, family or the Deity's she follows.

History

Nahri was born in Mura and spent a happy childhood in the home of her Grandmother with her mother and two older sisters. Despite questions from Nahri and her sisters they never knew who their father was, or even if they shared the same one. She spent hours playing in the water with her sisters, her mother teaching them to swim almost before they could walk.

From an early age Nahri showed an appreciation for the natural world around her, and her mother honed this fascination with flora and fauna into the healing arts - in line with her Goddess given mark of healing. Nahri also showed an affinity for working with the earth in other ways, choosing to take up pottery as her creative outlet.

Near her 30th year, La'Nahri felt Called to leave Mura to utilise her healing powers with a group or person in need of her. She did not 'hear' who this group would be, only that they were out in the wider world of Mizahar somewhere. Nahri would be the first of her sisters to recieve the Call, and her mother was sad, but proud to see her go.

Nahri travelled first to Syliras, where she met and befriended a young Knight while working at the Stormhold Salves. The knight was a devout follower of Priskil, and through him Nahri developed a fondness and appreciation for the Goddess of Hope.

From Syliras she moved on to Zeltiva once she was confident that she had not found the place she was meant to be. Zeltiva was a wonderous place to the young Konti, and though she never attended the University, she heard of the magics that its students were taught, one day hoping to walk its halls and learn for herself. Nahri knew though, that Zeltiva was also not where she was meant to stop, and so she moved on after hearing about a new settlement from a group of sailors.

Konti Abilities

Water Breathing: Gills on Nahri’s neck allow her to breathe underwater. In addition, webbing between her fingers and toes make her an incredibly agile swimmer.

Stolen Sense: Unique to her, Nahri’s Konti Gift allows her to tell through touching an object whether it has been stolen. The item must be currently possessed by the thief or have been lost/abandoned by them for her to pick up on the fact. If the item has been returned to its previous owner or purchased/found by a new honest owner she will not sense any theft, even if it was purchased from the thief.

Gnosis

Healing: Nahri is singularly marked by Rak’keli, gifting her the abilities of a L1 healer. She can close shallow wounds, cure headaches and common colds, ease strained or tense muscles, and take care of minor rashes, allergies and depression. She can also deal effectively with snake bites, insect bites, and skin irritation due to plant, and heal minor bruising. Nahri can also purify deeper wounds with her touch, improving sanitation and eliminating the threat of dangerous wounds going septic or developing infection.

Religion & Gnosis

Gnosis: One mark of Rak’Keli, gifted at birth. Twin winged serpents twine around each other in a shimmering opalescent mark on Nahri's left shoulder.

As with all Konti, Avalis and Laviku hold special places in La'Nahri's heart. She tends to speak more to Laviku, thanking him for creating her to be what she is - beautifully scaled and connected to his waters. Nahri wasn't born with the gift of divination, but Avalis has still blessed her with an insight unique to her. Now being away from Mura where the two Deity's reside, Nahri is careful to offer her prayers and thoughts to them frequently.

Most prominent in La'Nahri's heart however, is her lady Rak'keli. The Goddess placed her twining mark upon the Konti at birth and she has done her utmost to live by it ever since. Though not faced with a great deal of injury or strife in Mura Nahri has, as is required of her, helped any she came across who needed it. She took to learning the more mundane version of the healing arts to, in order to complement her more limited blessed power. Everywhere she goes, Nahri travels with her Goddess at the forefront. Indeed her Call, when it came, was to seek out one who needs her personal skill set, including her Mark.

Since beginning her travels from Mura, Nahri has also started to look toward the Goddess Priskil for guidance. In Syliras she met a young knight who taught her about the Goddess of Hope. The Lady's ideals sit comfortably in Nahri, harmonious alongside those of Rak'keli.
