Appearance: Doran stands at about 5'8", weighing in at 157 lbs. Despite being of average height, his build is rather stocky and solid, with broad shoulders, a wide stance, and a barrel chest. His normally pale skin is tanned from years of exposure to the various elements. With a large, hooked nose, bushy eyebrows, and a black, curled beard reaching down to his mid chest, he gives the impression of a wild woodsman, or perhaps a hunter. His head is shaved completely bald. His eyes are steel gray, and their narrow, sloping shape is the only true evidence of his mixed heritage.
Closer observers will see that his long, dexterous fingers and well groomed hands are those of an artisan, rather than a wild man. He seems to put a great deal of importance on caring for them.
Character Concept
Doran puts on a show, with his wild looks and often gruff attitude. However, he's a practitioner of Malediction, a craft that requires no small amount of skill and a finely tuned attention to detail. Since his craft is generally seen with certain levels of disdain (and in some cases, extreme amounts of fear and hatred), he does his best to hide his true talents. As such, he rarely makes friends, and has no close friends to speak of.
Doran is naturally suspicious and doesn't trust easily, preferring to handle the grave robbing, monster slaying, and other general unpleasantness himself. Much to his own distress, however, focusing on combat and other skills needed to survive have led to him slacking on his magical training. And even so, he still requires the help of others for more difficult tasks, though he always hides his motives from any would be companions.
These tendencies of self inflicted solitude and paranoia have only worsened since the bounty was declared on all members of the Vantha. Though he knows he's relatively safe as a mixed blood, he's not so naive as to think that strangers wouldn't sell him out for a few coins.
His greatest goal in life is to become stable enough to practice Malediction relatively unhindered. Any struggles he comes across now are simply a means to an end.
