Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Birthday: 1, Season of Winter, 500.
Birthplace: Sunberth

Appearance: Ruckus stands at five feet eight inches tall with a slim, but muscular build. With a messy head of wavy brown hair of which is always mixed with straw. His strong, angular jaw, and green eyes that give off a casual vibe, he doesn't look like much of a threat. His lips are soft and his nose is small and his face littered with freckles. There is no beard to speak of, except a little bit of scruff starting to form at the bottom of his chin.

Ruckus is built strong, but nothing impressive in the long run. His body is showing the beginning signs of improvement and strength but he clearly has a long way to go. His forearms are hairy as well as his shins, but his chest, thighs and other parts besides his forearms and shins seem to remain bare of hair. Over his left eye there is a horizontal scar right below his brow.

Character Concept

Ruckus would be an interesting figure, A tavern dweller clad in a hood and cloak as well as a simple rough spun tunic and wool trousers, an appearance revealing little and making him blend into a crowd, yet he only gets more interesting the more you know him. He is a martial artist, preferring the Nun-Chaku as his primary weapon, with his fists coming second. His main goal is to survive, but his second idea is to become a master at the unarmed arts, so powerful and strong he can fight armored opponents with his fists and kung-fu instruments. He's not against using weapons, he just wants to master his fists that much.

Ruckus's major goal currently is to drift with no particular motivation but to survive in Sunberth. Sunberth is a dangerous place where one night you could be alive, and the next you won't wake up. He just wants to survive and get out to somewhere nice where he can relax, yet there is a conflicting ideal in his heart to stay in Sunberth, where he can truly master his survival instinct and his martial art.

Character History

Ruckus doesn't have much of a past, at least a notable one. He was born in Sunberth to a whore mother who died giving birth and a thug father who soon left Ruckus on the streets at the age of 10, feeling Ruckus was too much of a responsibility to handle. Ruckus quickly had to adapt to a life on the streets and this forever impacted his personality. He grew up scared that he would die at any moment, he learned not to trust people, and to manipulate when he could, yet beneath all of this, he possessed the heart of a child, just wanting to have a good time, suppressed by his situation. He stole bread to survive, and learned to blend into a crowd or into the background of a tavern so that he wouldn't be noticed when dangerous figures came in looking for easy slaves of trouble.

This all changed for Ruckus one day, and how he got his name sake. Ruckus started to train, lifting weights and doing heavy lifting tasks for some "Honest money". Forever was he tired of blending into the crowd and learning how to vanish, he wanted to stand up for himself. He was 16 at the time, and he was ignorant to the advantages of blending in, he wanted to be something more. None the less these delusions of grander got him into trouble. He trained and became strong, but he didn't know how to fight, and he was brutally beaten in every scuffle he got himself into, barely surviving on a number of occasions. He never really had a name, so he called himself Ruckus, in name sake of his nature.

Ruckus's luck changed though when he got into a scuffle with a tavern dweller who had accidentally spilt drink into him. Ruckus, in his arrogant teenage youth threw a punch at the man, yet before he knew it he had been struck three times and lay flat on his ass, the echoing laughter of the tavern around him. Ruckus got up again and threw another punch, but the old tavern dweller, clad in a white beard and a cloak and hood, moved so unpredictably that every punch Ruckus threw went far amiss. Where he expected the brawler to dodge left, he was directly to Ruckus's right side. Ruckus was brutally beaten in the encounter, but instead of shame, Ruckus saw opportunity.

Ruckus tracked the man down after the scuffle to an alleyway home, and practically begged the man to teach him how to fight like that. The man agreed on the spot, under one condition. That he use his skills to only protect himself, and he used his skills to get out of Sunberth. Ruckus never learned why the man thought of this, as he died at the end of his basic training, but Ruckus was thankful none the less. The old man taught him how to move unpredictably, to feign being drunk and to look weak, helpless and a bumbling fool to make the enemy underestimate you. Then, suddenly to use this to your advantage, punching when it looked like you were going to kick. Punching with a jab with a faked wind up right or vise versa, and to use every bit of the environment to your advantage. Ruckus also took a liking to one of the weapons, the Nun-Chaku. Ruckus thought it fit this unpredictable style of fighting.

None the less, Ruckus's luck had to end. The old man, or as Ruckus would refer to him, died of a mysterious illness Ruckus had no comprehension of, and so he was on his own. He eagerly wanted to heed the old man's words and get out of Sunberth as soon as possible, but his training wasn't complete and Ruckus didn't believe himself strong enough to get of Sunberth alive. He needed to gain more skills before he traveled elsewhere, and so his journey in Sunberth truly began.
