Dominic

Appearance

Race: Kelvic Sea Lion (Unbonded)
Gender: Male
Age: 10 years old
Birthday: 50/Summer/509
Birthplace: Sunberth

Appearance: Dominic was a large man, his human shape taking on some of the characteristics of his animal shape. He stands at 6’2” and weighs roughly 265 pounds. Dark brown coarse hair from his scalp to his chin adorns his round face, coupled with big, dark eyes and a large, bulbous nose. He has a fair amount of body hair that seems to grow faster than he could possibly keep up with it, and so he doesn’t really bother. He has a deep, robust voice and a hearty, booming laugh.

While in human form Dom typically keeps his clothing loose fitting, so that should the need arise to transform he can do so without too much risk of endangering himself with their quick removal.

In his Sea Lion form he has a coarse, dark brown coat. His body is slightly larger than average, but only by a small margin. He is 8 feet long and weighs in at 805 pounds. Due to his family being fishermen he had an abundant supply of fish and an acute understanding of where to hunt for food.

Character Concept

Dom is a friendly man that gets along with most folks that he meets. There are exceptions to this, but for the most part he has no difficulty making friends and overall being fairly social. A nice, relaxing day in the water beats most other pastimes other than maybe enjoying a good meal and a few drinks with good friends.

Despite his kind and friendly demeanor, Dom finds fully trusting others difficult. It is due to this distrust that he finds it difficult to bond with anyone. He has seen the terrible things that people do to one another, not to mention the treatment of Kelvic as pets and slaves.

Dom finds himself fairly against slavery and the slave trade. There aren’t many things that he gets worked up over, but deep down he knows that freedom is the most important concept in the world to him. Animals were meant to roam the land freely, including those animals that call themselves human. Nobody should have that taken away.

Beyond that, he is has a live and let live policy for various other lifestyles, as long as cruelty towards others isn’t a primary factor.

Character History

The only child of a long line of fishermen, Dom had what most would consider a pleasant childhood. He had a nice home, with loving parents and a decent family business. His mother taught him a great deal about his Kelvic background, while his father taught him the skills of his trade.

Dom’s childhood went by fairly quickly, as his was fully matured by the age of five years, and in this time he had been warned by his parents of the dangers of letting out the information of their heritage. Typically when such information got out people treated you differently, not to mention the possibility of forced servitude. So taking this information he very rarely trusts people enough to tell them about his true nature.

He had a bit of wanderlust, despite the dangers of such a thing, and while his parents weren’t keen on the idea of their son putting himself in danger, they knew that one way or another he would leave. Better he do so on good terms with them than bad ones. So he would learn what he could from his parents and the fishing trade before wanting to strike out on his own to see the world. It was right before this trip that his parents left for a trip out to see and didn’t return. Dom hasn’t any idea where they are currently or even if they still live. Needless to say, his trip was put on hold as he gathers money and continues his family trade in Sunberth.
