Amelyia Venthrya

Race: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Birthday: 33 Fall, 501 AV
Birthplace: Syliras

Amelyia stands at 5’9” with strength in her arms and back. Her hands are often calloused from working hard at a forge, or covered a soot in some cases. Amelyia doesn’t possess a special trait that would make her stand out from the rest of the people. She possesses long, straight brown hair that is often kept in a messy bun or tucked under a bandana. Her skin is sun-kissed as Amelyia is often outside or next to a blazing forge. As such her touch tends to be pretty warm, not like scorching hot, but warm as if she’s been standing next to a fire for hours.

Amelyia possesses a pair of amber eyes typically filled with curiosity and naivete. Typically she is seen wearing simple and functional clothing. This is simply because she never did have the luxury of wearing finer clothes and even so working on a forge would damage the fabrics. So Amelyia kept to the typical tunic and pants on a daily basis. She never wears a dress, Amelyia just simply had no reason to wear one.

Character Concept

A novice smith that finds life eventful, yet somehow boring. From the usual daily routine, Amelyia wants to be out adventuring, or even travel to a different city. One day Amelyia manages to travel to a city called Lhavit as she aims to improve her craft there and away from her father. She has a strong sense of honor that’s been drilled inside of her head since she was a child. Determined with her work, Amelyia believes in the concept of expanding her horizons and learning how other cities craft their metal wares. Granted she’s no weaponsmith, she is somewhat proficient in blacksmithing, armorer, and metalsmith. Amelyia definitely put down more time and energy in the metalsmith craft as she knows her way around it better than the other two craft skills.

Because of the physical toll her work often takes on her, Amelyia developed some muscle that slightly shows within her arms and back. After all, spending hours swinging a 3lb. hammer next to intense heat can exhaust even the sturdiest man. If someone was to try to describe her personality in one sentence. Amelyia is a hardworking, honest craftsman who can be as blunt as a charging bull when it comes to her words. Respectful, but blunt nonetheless.

Character History

Amelyia’s father is one of the smiths who works in The Ironworks, and it was under his tutorship that she became a smith herself. Albeit she just started out with some proficiency in her work, Amelyia was born and raised in Syliras. Duty and honor, a honest life and yet perhaps a dull one in her mind. However, she stayed true in whatever task she’s set to do. Whether it was helping with chores, or even helping her father around the forge.

Even so, the young lady grew curious of the world outside of Syliras and often dreamed of adventures and exploration. The imagination of discovering some ancient past whether it was a relic or a forgotten city. She didn't know what the future held for her, but Amelyia was determined to use her craft and travel to other cities. Hoping that her skills would improve overtime as a craftsman as she journeyed to other places.

Amelyia grew up as the only child with her father. She has no recollection of her mother whom died at childbirth, and so it was her father solely raising and caring for Amelyia. Growing up was a bit difficult as Amelyia wanted to be like any other kid. To have fun and play around, but her father was very strict and rarely allowed her to spend time outside of the forge and school. This of course sparked tension between later on as Amelyia grew into a teenager. She did have a rebellious side to her and often snuck out to hang out with what little friends she has made. Which infuriated her father even more so when Amelyia and her friends went to a tavern that he was also in. Arguments sparked and eventually she was essentially grounded to stay at the forge until she could become decent with a craft. Amelyia tried different things from blacksmithing as she created horseshoes, pans, and nails to even doing a little bit of armor. She didn't get very far with it, but Amelyia understood the basics enough to work around it. Eventually, Amelyia picked up metalsmithing as she found the idea of forging metals into a single alloy. Tiresome bells later as days had passed while Amelyia practiced diligently on this craft. After a season later, Amelyia became competent with metalsmithing, and even proved it to her father by revealing a decent pewter candlestick.

The man gifted Amelyia a present, her very own stone hammer for her future craft. When Amelyia told him that she planned on going outside of Syliras to other cities, he didn't protest or discouraged her this time. To him, Amelyia was an adult and had the right to make her own decisions. Out of honor and duty, her father encouraged her and warned her of dangers within the wilderness. Luckily all of that training in her craft developed some muscle in her body, and Amelyia felt confident in using a light hammer too as she was used to it by then. And so, Amelyia began her journey to Lhavit where she hoped to learn more about her craft and perhaps more.
