"Circle... circle... circle."

Eldon whispered softly to himself as he sat on his knees only a few yards from Endrykas's temporary border. His eyes were unfocused, yet staring longingly at the ground. His finger, with each mention of the side-less, angle-less shape, drug itself across the dirt, creating another identical shape over the previous like it was some sort of fanatical ritual. Eldon didn't even know what he was doing, nor why he was doing it. If he had been aware of himself, rather than in some confusing daydream that he was suffering from, he would have hastily stopped, questioned his sensibility, and continue on with his day.

"Circle..."

The finger traced the small circle once again, though this time left a trace of Djed to sink into the earth. It would not be visible to the untrained eye, only an aurist would pick up the auras from that elemental energy lying dormant in the ground. Yet, it was there. Eldon knew it was there, he put it there, it was his own Djed, yet he wasn't even all there at that moment. His body knew what it was doing, but his mind failed to pay attention. Eldon slowly lifted his hand from the ground, the ring he had drawn with his finger started to lift from the ground, as if it was attached to the touch of his hand rather than the earth itself. The Djed has cut the earth, and seized control over it.

"Circle, pillar."

Crack [Naemi]

Postby Naemi on March 15th, 2011, 11:01 pm

Her booted feet hit the ground with each step. She was running. Where to she didn’t know, but it was a release for her, physically and mentally. Naemi was accustomed to running long distances- it came from her bloodlines, but after running for so long, her breathing was becoming shallow. It was rare for her body to demand to stop and rest, but it was doing so now. Naemi pressed on relentlessly, not giving in. If one knew the woman, they could see her pressing on until she passed out. It was not uncommon for her to do so, and her father constantly told her not to. But Naemi was also known for following what she thought best, and most of the time it was against what her father said.

Her tired body continued to protest as a slight breeze picked up. Naemi’s braids let out wisps of hair as the wind blew by. One foot after the other… it took a fair amount of concentration for her to remain conscious of her feet moving for her legs were becoming numb. It was not long before her worn muscles finally got what they wanted. Naemi, being tired was not looking where she was going, and her feet had become clumsy so she tripped. This was not a trip that she could have prevented, and it caused her to fall on her face a few feet away from a man. If she hadn’t tripped, there was no way she would have known he was there, but now she did. She was now laying face first in the dirt, her clothes accumulating even more of the soil. What a sight.

Crack [Naemi]

OOCHope you don't mind Eldon being a little creepy ;)

Concentration broken. When the girl hit the ground, Eldon gasped violently, his eyes widening and the res that was perfectly under his subconscious control went hectic. That stone pillar he erected from the ground began to suffered severe vibrations, it then shattered, sending the miniature pillar into a quick explosion of flying debris, and a large stone managed to punch him directly in the eye, sending the crouching Drykas man backwards in a tumble of surprise and pain, not to mention the shear physical force it offered. Eldon was quick to jump up and fall on his shattered pile of stone rubble. No! No! No! What happened? This is all wrong! What did I do?" Eldon stood up and kicked at the heap of pebbles violently, his eyes furious with anger, insanity, danger. He wasn't himself, but every day made him more like this, making himself more like this crazed man that brooded over rocks and exhaled raw violence when it fell apart.

Eldon could feel a throbbing over his face, the right side was clobbered pretty heavily, he was cut, which was a telltale sign of just how hard he was hit by the blunt object. His eye was already red, a lump would arise in mere minutes, still, he ignored it so that he could look down at the one that ruined his work. Eldon jumped up and grabbed Naemi's arm, spinning her around violently, forcing her onto her back, forcing her to look at him, his face, the wizard she interrupted. Eldon felt his hand reaching for his knife as he crouched lower, his knees fell to the ground on either side of her waist, pinning her lower body under his weight.

While his left hand grabbed firmly around his knife, Eldon's right hand snatched her face, pinching her cheeks inward as his palm rested against her chin. He was panting heavily now, his lip quivered in rage, in anger. Everything that had happened to him was becoming too much for him to handle. His voice hissed towards her, occasionally spraying her with a mist of saliva, yet he only whispered. "What have you done to me? Do you know who I am? Sunkiss, Sapphire Clan. I will not be petched with, do you hear me? Answer me!" Eldon screamed at her, his face was only inches from hers as he yelled at her, screaming directly at her, like he was trying to kill her by piercing her skull with his voice.

Eldon would never be able to live with himself if he killed her, or even if he knew what he was doing, but something dark hand taken a hold over him, over his logic, his usually friendly personality. He was something dark, obsessed, angered, hungry, and sorrow-stricken. His knife fell to the grass, never find a place to pierce the woman, he still wasn't so disconnected to murder her, despite feeling every need to kill something. She wasn't the one. Eldon sighed as he lowered his head, still he sat on her, remaining perfectly still on her pelvis. If it wasn't such a crazed scene, one might observe and think he was preparing to petch her right there in the grass. Even that would have made Eldon feel slightly better about himself, rather than this monster that was unleashed.

Crack [Naemi]

Postby Naemi on March 21st, 2011, 7:18 pm

OOCI dont mind at all :)

The man that Naemi had fallen in front of turned out to be some sort of wizard as whatever he was working on disappeared. But instead of yelling at her, as any normal human would have done, the man had forced Naemi onto her back. Alright, so she had disturbed a madman. Her mistake. The man certainly didn’t think so for his knife had come out as he continued to yell at her.

Surprisingly, this was the first time something like this had happened to Naemi for she was around insanity all the time. Only her own vague common sense kept her from screaming back at the man as he held the knife in his hand. Knives and madmen were never a good combination, and in a state of panic, Naemi began looking for things to use to escape this man’s trapping position.

Finally, the knife had dropped, and the look on the strange man’s face became different, as though he had regained his senses. He didn’t say anything. No apology for almost killing her, or even for tackling her to the ground. Nor did he get off of her, still trapping her lower body underneath his weight. The shocked look on Naemi’s face had disappeared as one of anger replaced it. “I didn’t do anything to you… I tripped. Accidentally. Of course if you had the sanity to ask me before you pounced on me, then you would know that.”

A single eyebrow rose as she looked into the strange man’s eyes. “Are you going to get off of me?” Its not as though the position was awkward… alright so it was but at least the man was fairly attractive... He had mentioned something about himself during his moment of insanity, but now that the moment had passed, Naemi did not remember what he had said. Could he be Drykas too? It seemed possible, and likely judging from her expansive knowledge of the race, herself being half Drykas.

Crack [Naemi]

Postby Eldon Sunkiss on March 27th, 2011, 11:22 pm

Eldon stared down at Naemi for a moment, a dazed look was painted across his eyes as if he had been dreaming and only just awoken. He was confused, knew what happened, but had difficulty believing that he could do what he did. It gave him chills to realize what he almost did, very well could have done. "By the gods. It's happening." Eldon whispered, still staring down at the Drykas woman pinned underneath him, but not seeing her. He was talking, more like muttering really, to himself, some coded message or something of deep personal meeting. It took a moment for Eldon to actually see her, feel her breathing under him, and a redness came over his face. He was ashamed of himself now, nearly killing a woman without good reason. Even scolding her wasn't suitable response for her mistake. Something in him triggered that never should have existed. "I'm... I'm so sorry. I don't know what came over me. I was startled." It was a lame excuse, a pitiful lie, and he knew it. He almost looked like he was going to break down right there and never release her while he sobbed, but he didn't.

Eldon stood up slowly, took several steps away from the woman, and crouched, facing away from her, and hiding his face with his dirt smeared hands. He wasn't going to cry, despite the appearance he gave off. He needed to think, and the distant faint sparkling of the stars were distracting his thoughts. "So wrong. It's not supposed to be like this. You are supposed to be stronger for them, not... this. It doesn't have to be this way." Eldon lifted his face as he stopped whispering into his palms. He looked back at Naemi, wherever she was now. He almost looked terrified, emotional little bastard. "I'm so sorry. I'm not well. I see that now. I'm losing my mind. I can't think straight. I can't control these hands. I'm not sane. I... I should go."

Eldon, despite standing up and leaving the girl there, he didn't leave. He should have gone back to the Sunkiss Pavilion, to try and sleep, but something about that night was unsettling, like if he tried to sleep, he would wander again, aimlessly, causing mischief or his mindless reimancy acts. By the gods, what if he did what he did to Edalene, to someone else? That was almost as bad as what he just did, nearly killed Naemi, he didn't even know her. Eldon felt nauseous, he lifted his palm to his head. "I'm sorry. It's not safe for you to be around me. I'm not stable." Eldon sat down, feeling the earth below him wobbling lightly as if he was drunk, but he was just dizzy, shaken up, terrified even. He loved his people, it didn't make sense that he would do something like this.

Crack [Naemi]

Postby Naemi on April 4th, 2011, 7:34 pm

Naemi heard faint mumbling as the man stood up, getting off of her. He said it was an accident, and she would have believed him if the circumstance was more normal, but he had tried to kill her. He would have if his senses hadn’t come to, and after thinking back about it, Naemi reached up, touching her neck. What would her father do if she was killed? If he didn’t die from his heart breaking, then he would go on to live the rest of his short life in misery. Without Naemi, her father didn’t know how to take care of himself. Recently, he had begun relying on her to help out more and more, but it had gotten to a point where Naemi was doing almost everything.

As soon as the strange man had gotten off of her, Naemi had sat up, staring at the man as he walked a few paces away, mumbling to himself. He wasn’t sane. Some sort of truth had come from his mouth, and Naemi realized this. Any truly insane person would deny the fact that they are not mentally stable, but the strange man seemed to be accepting it. Right now, he did not seem out of control. His actions displayed his apology and he seemed distraught at the fact that he almost killed her.

Maybe it was a mistake, and he had just had a very bad day. It was possible the man was just different, and this happened more than just once. Naemi had no idea what was wrong with him, but she was not about to leave when he could possibly hurt someone else, or even himself. He said that he was not sane, and if he truly was not (which Naemi did not believe) then he needed to return home and sleep off the insanity. But where he lived was a mystery to Naemi. He seemed Drykas, but one could not be completely sure.

“If you truly are not sane…” Naemi spoke softly while rising to her feet, “then you should not stay here alone. Go home and sleep of the insanity. I don’t know who you are or where you live, but it must be a better place to rest than here.” Her father would begin to worry if she remained here with the man until he rested and regained his sanity, but it was something she was going to have to deal with when it came up. For now, Naemi would see what the man would do. Any sort of advance would be taken seriously, and Naemi would leave the man by himself no matter how dangerous he was.

Additional Notes :
Not a bad start, guys. Once again, Eldon, shame it didn't get finished. I like how you portray your character, but sometimes I think you overdo the introspection and that slows the pace down. That, however, if just a personal opinion. Naemi, you didn't really get much posted in this, but what you did I found impressive. I liked Naemi's personality, her compassion and her fire. Hope to see more from you both.
