An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Hayl on May 15th, 2011, 3:32 am

Hayl looked at the strange female creature in front of him. She glared at him as if she actually understood what he was saying, but never spoke. Not really leaving the human overpopulated city of Sunberth, Hayl would be fairly unknowledgeable of other races. His eyebrows constricted to show his confusion at her mannerisms, then the radical reaction to Karc’s comment as she rolled on the floor making gasping sounds. “Whatever you just said, I think is killing her...” his words slow as his thoughts were unable to deduce any other means for the bizarre outcome. He watched as she writhed on the ground, noticing her physical attributes. ‘I hope she doesn’t intend to put those fangs to good use...”

Her still composure that followed was exceptionally foreign. Hayl understood the strange and mysterious wonders that lay outside of his home city, but he had no idea. Again the confused look he portrayed as she smiled strangely back. “Look... Karc is it? I think if she wanted to harm us she would have attempted to do so by now.” Hayl said as he unequipped his bag and dug a hand in looking for something. A good sized chunk of bread was produced and he held it out to the strange female creature. He then pointed at his bleeding foot and said, “You don’t happen to know a doctor... or anything do you?”

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Karc on May 15th, 2011, 5:19 am

Karc gave her a strange look as she rolled around in silent laughter. He turned and smiled at Hayl's comment. He then turned back sighting the fangs he stepped back slightly, taken aback. He then stopped himself as he heard Hayl speak, "Damn, those are some big canines."

She suddenly went quite and icy, Karc was very confused. He turned to Hayl, "Ya, I guess so." He then saw him dig into his back pulling out a hunk of bread, and offering it to the female creature. He then shrugged at Hayl's question, "Nope, and I don't have any skill in the area ether sorry."

He stretched and yawned and walked over towards a fallen tree sitting on the fallen trunk, motioning for them to sit on similar fallen branches and trunks. "So what bring's the both of you out here at this time of day?"

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Ago smiled, accepting the bread, and sinking her fangs into it. She waited until it was a bit tender before actually eating it. When the man motioned to his bleeding foot, she couldn't help but roll her eyes playfully. How long were you going to let that bleed? Do you want to bleed to death? She walked over towards the fallen tree that the dark haired man, who she assumed was Karc, before sitting near a gnarled branch that was hanging on by a mere three centimeters or so.

She swiped at it with a black claw before it swung free. Placing the branch on her lap, she used her claws to shape it to a favorable size and shape. She then reached into her backpack, taking out a cloth and a knife from her preserving kit and cutting a thin strip, and three wider strips. She took the thin strip, placing everything else on the trunk of the fallen tree, and walked over toward the water. Damn. The water was too murky. If she was going to clean a wound, she'd need cleaner water, and this would just infect it, and, as she learned from experience, drinking water is too valuable to be giving up precious amounts.

She remembered what she learned from one of her friends in her travels. Simple, she'd use Reimancy. She focused, feeling it, not thinking. She didn't like gestures, and incantations which, for her, were impossible. She focused alone on feeling, seeing it in her mind. Slowly but surely, a sphere of Res that couldn't decide if it wanted to be gold or translucent, a liquid or a solid, began to form at the tip of her claws. She slowly retracted the feeling, held back, stopping it from growing past its current size of an apple. She then imagined the feeling of water. Of it rushing through her fingers. She placed the cloth under her hand as the Res dripped through her fingers as liquid water. Let this be a lesson to you human. I feel as if I'm giving more than getting, and not everyone is generous.

Silently, she walked to the blonde man gesturing for him to sit on the fallen tree, near her supplies, so she may clean the wound, and then splint it. I swear, half the people I meet would literally die without me.

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Hayl wasn’t expecting a healer to be among them, but was grateful for whatever knowledge the strange woman had at her disposal. Hayl replaced his dagger, under his sleeve, glaring at anyone who would take notice of his concealment. He brought himself to sit at the log, and extended his foot away from himself, “So, It’s safe to say... you’re not a talker. But who or whatever you are, I’d like to know... this will be challenging, you think she can hear?” he said to Karc looking around as if he could salvage something that would aid him in the predicament.

The blood was thick and dark, oozing from the jagged puncture in his foot. The hole was temporarily covered by a flap of white and bloodless dead skin attached to the purple in color flesh of a recently popped blister. Hayl had seen some nasty injuries before, and this wasn’t anything to be compared with them, but it was messy and very inconvenient. “I shouldn’t have popped the blister I know, but it was too painful to walk on, plus there was no blood in it, well until I stepped on whatever the hell I did.” He spoke to whoever could listen and looked over to the lake, the waters were he fell were still struggling to settle.

“I’m here to make money... plain and simple, how bout you?” He wanted to ask the question to both of them, but Karc would definitely be the easiest to get an answer out of, he also wanted to get someone else talking, and for awhile to. Hayl is a thief after all, and his thinking was if he cannot even enter the streets of Ravok without attracting other’s attention, then this was all a definite mistake.

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Karc motioned towards the mute girl. "I believe she can here us, why else would she react so to our comments." He shifted his body weight slightly, his eyes falling over the picture of dawn. "I'm also here to make money..." He turned his head glancing over as the girl worked on Hayl's foot. "Miss would you be so kind as to tell us your name and why you are here? Both of us have shared now it is your turn. Though I don't know how you will try to communicate the answer." He paused his eyes straying over the girl.

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Ago on May 18th, 2011, 2:23 am

Ago smirked, as she worked on the blonde's foot slowly, making sure not to do anything wrong. Apparently Karc was the more intelligent of the two. If she was mute, as well as deaf, she would have died a long time ago. She reached, once again, into her backpack. She took out her inks and pen and opened up to the first page in her blank book. She began to write for a moment before holding up the book so the others could read it.

Agoyoanye, but call me Ago. I'm a Symenestra. I'm here to learn, I take every chance I have to do so.

The writing was thin and elegant, proof that she must have written often. It was fairly easy to read if you knew how to read common. The words word simple but implied more. Yes, she wanted to learn, but not just anything. She wanted to learn as much as possible, she wanted to learn everything. She trained herself every chance she got and wanted to help as well.

She thought for a moment before adding:

But money's good, too.
The foolish say something so that they can talk.
The wise talk because they have something to say.

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Hayl on May 18th, 2011, 4:45 am

Hayl let out a laugh and decided on an inner debate he had since he had met the two. ‘No matter the opportunity, I’m not going to steal from them...’ He thought this and felt satisfied, and was glad to have acquaintances as new as he was. Hayl let her do whatever was needed to fix his foot. He wasn’t a healer, but the lack of strange powders and foreign tools made him trust her more as he would be paranoid she was would poison him and, possibly worse, take his stuff.

‘Friends’ is a strong word and Hayl very rarely would grace someone with the term. He only viewed a friend to be a person he could trust, and the cut-throat environment he was used to showed him the rarity of a trustworthy person.

“Well Lady ago, I would say your off to a good start. I would also offer you some coin for the wound, but I’d like to see how well the healing goes first.” He said selfishly. “That’s beautiful handwriting, you wouldn’t be here to make you wages by printing books would you?” his stab in the dark at what her possible intentions could be at the city on the lake. “And you horseman, are you here to patrol the lake to find fools who fall in?” He tried to salvage some conversation, because his audience was fairing difficult. The girl unable to talk still seemed to perform better communication than the horseman who would put his quick sense on the matter, and recluse to himself as Hayl, the apprentice of mystery, was left under a spotlight.

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Karc on May 18th, 2011, 11:02 pm

Karc leaned forward and took his time to read the script, once he was finished he saids simply "I also like to learn, but usually in my pursuit of money, I learn much." He paused as she continued. He chuckled as she saw what she wrote.

Once he finish chuckling, he traced his eyes over the other two. Ago seemed dangerous, but gentle. While Hayl, seemed mischievous and thieving. Both would make good allies, and possibly friends. But he would need to get to know the better before that.

He started as Hayl said 'horsman'. He listened through half closed eyes, smirking. "No, only fools who get stabbed by a reed shoot, fall in the water, and loose there weapon." He shrugged, "Really I am just a mercenary, that couldn't sleep so went out for a ride, as it calms me."

He then turned to each of them "So Ago what type of things do you wish to learn? And Hayl is it only money that brought you here?"

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Ago on May 19th, 2011, 1:01 am

Ago chuckled silently. It's not that she expected to be paid, she was hardly a doctor, at least in her mind. When he suggested printing books, she waved it off. Her writing wasn't good enough anyway. It took more than careful letters and fancy swirls to print a book. She had a few ink splotches already, and her lines were crooked, spacing was also uneven, and she only knew how to write with a quill pen. But then again, maybe she was just being hard on herself, to a normal person, it could be considered pretty. She didn't see it in her future but you never know.

Hardly. Imagine your whole life in a stuffy room writing for the rest of your life. The world's too big and interesting for that.

She held up the book for them to read again. When Karc returned Hayl's comment, she couldn't keep her fanged smile off her face. When he asked her what she wanted to learn, she didn't think twice before writing her answer. There was a visible pause, as if she need to think whether or not to say something, before she continued to write. After a moment she held up the book, a burning blush on her face.

I want to learn everything, mostly anything to help people. I also love music.... What does a horse look like?

She knew it was a silly question but she has never seen one before and she didn't see his. Maybe it's eating grass and trees and... horse things? She was pretty young, only fifteen, and didn't know much about animals except for what you can eat and what you can't. It interest her when Hayl had mentioned he was a horseman. She didn't learn much about horses beside the fact the you could ride them, those were called riders, and that they were a little like pets, stable hands took care of them. She thought for a moment before adding:

Is a horseman half horse half man?

The question may seem a bit childish but she was naive towards things like that.
The foolish say something so that they can talk.
The wise talk because they have something to say.

An Unforgiving Travel (Hayl, Karc, Ago)

Postby Hayl on May 20th, 2011, 11:12 pm

Hayl didn’t hesitate, “Yes, well some are half ass and half man, the verdict is still out on Karc.” He gave a playful grin in retort to Karc’s comment about Hayl’s stupidity in the lake. Hayl started to relax as he became aware of the lack of knowledge from the two. He would welcome the idea of having allies in Ravok. He wasn’t sure what skills the two had to offer him, but it would come in time. “You want to learn everything? I couldn’t imagine the burden of knowledge that would be associated with such a term.” He gave her an unrealistic look, “It’s impossible lady, you might as well drink that whole lake.”

“As for me… Pretty much just money. I’m from Sunberth and heard quite a few stories about Ravok, so I decided to come and see for myself.” He said in response to Karc’s comment.

Not long after Hayl spoke, he felt a strange presence behind him. Glancing over his shoulder he saw the thick forest line begin to shake, and heard a low growl from the disturbance. “Whatever that is, it has been following me for hours.”

oocIf everyone is cool, I’m gonna throw in some action, but if anyone has objections I would be glad to change it :D
