Kyhra Nekato

Kyhra walks threw Avanthal, her hand on her kama. She walks with stealth, hiding from those who would hurt her. She looks for a target, anyone who could bring her a few coins, anything to increase her fortune. She was greedy, she knew, but she also wanted to live a better life. She wanted to get away from her home, if it could be called that. She believed she had been born somewhere else. She knew nothing about her parents, or her past life. For the last two years she had been wandering around Avanthal, scratching a living off thieving. Kyhra made a good living over the past few years. Good enough to get real tools, even a disguise kit. She even, to her own surprise, found a set of weapons, lightweight, but usable. She could only manage one at a time right now, she hadn't yet become skilled enough to use them both.

Eventually, I will. Eventually.Kyhra thought to herself. She shook her head and kept on walking down the streets of Avanthal, searching for her next target. She had no, absolutley no, worries about who she stole from, because she only stole from those who could afford it. She saw none of those types of people, so decided to stop, lean on a random wall, and watch out for anyone around her. She watched carefully, seeing a lot of Vantha, like usual, with a mixture of other races thrown in. Of course there was nothing unusual happening, so she just stood there and looked around for a target, or even a friendly person to talk to.

A normal day in Avanthal (Sharth and Kyhra)

Sharth was making a delivery from Iceglaze today. He was loaded up with several lengths of lumber that he balanced on his massive shoulders. He crouched down low, his massive legs supporting his weight, as several Iceglaze workers began struggling to lift incredibly heavy sacks of Icestone. Each sack took three Vantha to lift and tie over the ends of the lumber. When they determined it was secure, they looked at Sharth, "Deliver to Coolwater Hold, and be careful out there. Good luck."

Sharth rose to his full height, always surprising the friendly Vantha with his inherent strength. He pondered over the Vani words they spoke to him. He understood the sounds for Coolwater, careful, and luck. He tried to piece together the unknown sounds to fill in the gaps of the clear message. He smiled and tried a phrase he'd heard before in Vani, "My thanks you sirs." Sharth didn't know this sounded awfully formal to Vantha. They all smiled, after all it was rare that an outsider would try to learn their language.

He began trudging through the snow, his black fur shifting to white as he distanced himself from the hold. The weight wasn't heavy but the awkward hold and balanced allowed him to use muscles not often used. He saw a girl, perhaps a woman, it was sometimes hard for him to tell in humans. However, he saw her sneaking around the buildings and snow as if someone were following her. He watched her motions, the light foot steps, the crouched stance, the darting eyes. He could do that. He made sure to stay out of her line of sight as he tried to creep as she did, while carrying the supplies. The snow crunched loudly as stepped. He knew anyone would hear that, but he continued to practice. He watched her lean against a wall when an idea toyed his mind.

Staying out of her eyeline he crept around the building she leaned against. When he reached the wall near where she stood he put down his supplies and stepped away from the wall so his camouflage would keep it's effect. He grabbed a handful of snow, his fur now a brilliant white to match the landscape perfectly. He stood just around the corner and threw the snowball out in the open air. The snowball flew high and far, sure to catch her attention as it landed in the snow a fair distance away. He stood and waited, wondering if she would take the bait and come around the corner to examine.

Kyhra saw a snowball fly from a point around the wall, and started to investigate where it came from. She saw a Jamoura, a huge gorilla looking thing, and she started. Who is that? and what is it doing throwing snowballs? she thought to herself, advancing slowly, and stopping to look at the Jamoura, right before she was in its reach.

"Who are you?" Kyhra asked in her slightly hesitant common. She felt she could be better with this language, but had no real desire to learn more. She only needed what she had to talk to her fence and informant, and they understood only a bit of common anyway. Everyone, however understood money. If you showed someone a Gold Miza, and then pointed at there dagger, they would understand that you wanted it. If it was special, they would shake their head, and you would show more money. If they didn't want to sell it, they would pull it out and show you what it could do if you didn't step away now. If you wanted it badly enough, you drew your own weapon, and if they did not give it up, for free now because you offered and they turned it down, you took it and possibly their life, if they resisted you.

Kyhra stood there, ready to shift if need be to get away if the Jamoura proved to be hostile. She made no hostile movements, and looked it right in the eye.
