Johara, from the Tents of Jobbar, of the Sons of Basalom, the Beautiful Basic Information Race: Human - Benshira Birthday & Age : The Day of Harvest, around 494 AV, 17 Gender: Female Physical Description Johara had the common Benshiran physical characteristics: olive skin, crystal-clear eye colour, long dark chocolate hair, and weighed and stood as any other 17 years old Benshiran should be. But having Basalom as your great, great, great, very great, beautiful grandfather, there are some unwritten, invisible norms in your family that you got to maintain that “beautiful” reputation. You have to rub your skin with olive oil before working at the blazing sun, bath regularly, wear fragrant oil, apply some unknown plant extract as toners at night, paint your nails, wear the right clothes and jewelleries, and even pluck your eyebrows and shave. As if, Basalom and his children are so afraid they would lose any one percent of their genetic beauty. But thanks to their tradition, Johara has smaller chance of having dry skin and greasy hair. Moving on. Okay, okay, maybe Johara should thank her parents and her ancestors for her long eyelashes, her unusually small nose, and her far from clumsy gestures. Thank Yahal she’s a healthy kid, even though not physically fit as household chores turns out did not give the same effect as exercising. Johara could be considered dressing simply if compared to other descendants of Basalom. Following her family’s tradition, she likes to dress in brightly-coloured garments, even though she prefers modestly-coloured garments when travelling. Her one and only favourite jewellery is earrings. She’s a fan of it, and her favourite is her family heirloom’s pearl earrings. She is rarely seen letting her hair loose as she usually braids it and covered it with a long veil. Character Concept Johara could be difficult to determine, very difficult to put in words. She appeared to be mild-mannered and minded her words, but depending on her everchanging mood, she could be outspoken and very honest. At times, she could be quite fussy and idealistic, but the other times surrendering and open-minded. She had a hard time adapting to a new culture, but is eager to learn. It took some times for her to trust people, but she always showed hospitality and respect to other people. Being a true Benshiran, she loves her family, respected the neighbours, and trusted Yahal with all of her hearts. Character History Born among gardeners, Johara was born in “The Day of Harvest” (her parents were overjoyed, like they always were every time their child was born, that they completely forgot when was she born. Family-oriented people *sigh*), 17 years ago in Yahebah. Born as a daughter of Basalom, she is taught the art of aesthetics and gardening as soon as she could start thinking. Like any other of her siblings, she was sent to The Seats of the Sons and made her to study a lot of things because Johara as a child was more of a burden than a productive helper. Her family are mostly gardeners, artists, and merchants. Her father is a merchant, selling his family’s garden’s harvests in the market while her mother, like any other daughters of Basalom, tends the garden. Johara lived in a two story mudwall house near the Orchard Mount. |
