Physical Description:
Naota stands about 5ft 8 inches, 187lbs. His face is very angular, witha sharp chin, jaw and nose. His deepset almond shaped eyes are a dark green and his short black hair has a constant windswept spiky look. Olive skinned,he is slim and wiry, with hints of muscle from his carpentry work. The tips of his fingers are blackend from his practice of fire reimancy. He dresses plain, often in simple wool and leather, the only adornments a wooden religious symbol of Ionu on a leather string around his neck. He also has twin ribbons, white on the left, black on the right, circling up each arm, connected to the cold steel ribbon blades hidden under his jerkin.
Character Concept:
Naota is devoted to family, friends, his god, and bettering himself in both mental and physical aspects. He is respectful of anyone he meets and prides himself on skill. He can be quite friendly and a good companion during lonely times. Naota is very smart, and quick witted, but still being young he has his faults.Naota has a special place in his heart for children who are in bad circumstances and has often defended one from harm. He tries his best to bring some enjoyment to people's day. He can be bullheaded and when excited tends to rush things. He is feircly passianate for anything he cares for, and due to this can sometimes ignore or argue others beliefs.
History:
Naota was born in the city of Lhavit during the winter of 492 Av. His mother died during childbirth and Naota was left to live with his strict, and abusive father. His father, Hamin Miyabe was a very well respected carpenter, with his shop situated near the city gate. He raised Naota till he was almost five, and after then provided him with shelter and food, but expected Naota to earn his keep.
Naota was taught basics of carpentry by his father, a skill that slowly improved up until he left. At a young age he showed signs of rebellion, oft running away from the shop and his father, or shirking his job to go and play. Hamin repaid him in kind, leaving him to sleep on the streets a few times, and bruising Naota twice as often. The two of them locked horns many times, until Naota figured out it was usually better to shut his mouth and take it.
Around the age of twelve, Naota finally got a chance he had been waiting for. Hamin left to retrive a late delivery of lumber and Naota ran. He went into his father's room, stealing his 100 kina emergency fund, and climbed out of a back window in the shop, dashing away deep into the city, and the crowds. Naota left the city and hid in the mountains, maintaining the fantasy of leaving Lhavit for a far away city.
Upon returning, Hamin saw his son was gone, shrugged and went back to building tables for a new tea house down the road.
Naota lived alone in the mountains for about a week until he became deathly ill, and wobbled down a path, collapsing beside an old campfire.
He awoke in a soft bed in a small three room hut, a warm fire crackling nearby. Sitting near him was an old man wearing what seemed to be not but rags.
The man help Naota back to health, and offered Naota a room as long as he helped the old man. He never introduced himself, and Naota accepted.
A short while after living with the old one, Naota witnessed the man using the art of reimancy. He begged to be taught and at first his benifactor refused. eventually, he broke and Naota began learning how to control res.
