Vondonos "Victor" Hammerfist Sultros

Postby Vondonos Sultros on July 23rd, 2011, 2:51 am

Name: Vondonos Hammerfist Sultros
Nickname: Victor Hammerfist
Race: Isur
Birthday: Summer 6, 490AV
Gender: Male
Physical Description:
To a human, Victor would appear to be a midget. For an Isur, he was actually quite a tall guy. Standing 5'2”, he was big. Really big. Not really in height (by the standards of most races) but in size. Victor weighed 265 pounds due to the dense bone structure, thick skin, and the prodigious muscle that comes with working with a forge for days at a time and lifting massive amounts of weight for miles at a time. His skin, compared to others of his race, was very tanned. Compared to a human, he was still a little bit pale. Pale enough that you could see the veins of silver that ran across his entire body. His deep-set eyes were a dark green color, and his short hair and beard were light orange. Victor’s dominant arm, his left, is colored a deep red and it is incredible dense and strong. There is also a tattoo of Izurdin’s hammer on Victor’s right forearm. Under closer inspection, inside the metal part of the hammer, there is the scar of a grievous injury.
Victor wears skin tight work clothes, light tan in color, to make sure that no superfluous pieces of cloth get in the way of his work. He also owns a black traveling cloak, which he wears only when on the roads or on business. Both his shirt and his cloak have a red hammer sewn onto the backs, symbolizing Izurdin, God of Strength and Industry. The hilt of a great sword is usually visible from inside his cloak. The sword, when it is out, also has the Hammer of Izurdin on it.
Character Concept:
Victor has had a hard life. He lost everything when he was very young and he just tries to make the best with what he has left. Victor puts on an outgoing demeanor. A gregarious, womanizer who seems to just live, roam, and be free. However this is all just a front for his inner insanity. All he really wants is to get his revenge. Revenge on the monster that ruined his life.
Victor spends half his time struggling to pay for life with his natural born, Isurian skill as a blacksmith. The rest of the time goes in furthering his goal. Following any rumor or any lead and searching out the target of his vengeance.
History:
Pre-Creation:
Victor was born in the Isurian city of Sultros in the mountain of Izurith. Victor lived here happily with his mother and father for a good few years. He learned the art of blacksmithing and learned about the God Izurdin. He loved the feeling of creating his own items, and found that he was quite gifted with blacksmithing. He and his parents made up a very happy family until he was around 10. That’s when it came. The monster.

One day, Victor was walking home from the forge with his father when they heard a muffled scream. They ran into the room to see…something. I nude, albino figure was standing over his mother’s crumpled body. There were sharp, feeler like protrusions coming out of the figure’s shoulders. The protrusions waved about and would just…extend to an enormous length and sink into his mother’s flesh. She would scream again, but stop abruptly as if silenced by some unseen force. As soon as Victor’s dad saw the creature, he yelled in shock, his hand immediately flying to the Isurian Steel Broadsword that he had in his belt. Drawing it out, he launched at the figure…and was shot down by one of the thing’s tentacles. He bellowed in pain, but got up to his feet, his eyes red with rage and his mouth red with blood. And that’s when it turned around. It’s dead, sightless eyes. The pale bald head that lacked a mouth. But Victor’s father let out a wide overhand blow at the thing, cutting it deeply across its monstrous face. The sword left a mark across the face. Letting out a hiss of annoyance, it impaled Victor’s mother through the chest with it’s scorpion-like tail, picked her up, and fled the scene.

From that day forward, his father was on an self-consuming path to vengeance. The pair of them set off on Horseback to the North, following rumours and hearsays, and looking for the monster. During the 40 days that they rode, his father started teaching him other skills. How to use his precious creations to kill. He gave his four foot tall son a five foot long great sword of his own make. It was made of regular steel, but it was made especially by his father, in a way that only an Isur can. Victor did his best to obey his father and never questioned him no matter what he did and where he went. After days of following fruitless rumors, they found their way into The Spires, the abode of the Jamoura. There, amidst the super-intelligent apes with their vast stores of knowledge, they found out exactly what it was that they were hunting. The Journeyman.

The Journeyman was a fragment of a dead god. A divine beast of unimaginable power, that would come out of hibernation every so often and pick one being in Mizahar to hunt. It would hunt that target, dissecting it thoroughly with its “filaments”. But though this was all very interesting to Victor, his father wasn’t interested in this. He was interested in other things. The power of the Journeyman’s filaments. The Journeyman’s regenerative properties. The reasons that the Journeyman killed people. The fact that between hunts, the Journeyman would carve characteristic shapes into trees.

Victor’s father used the Spires as a base, leaving Victor there for weeks at a time as he went off to follow rumours of the demon. Victor spent his time with the Jamoura, learning more about his only real passion, blacksmithing. However, due to the Jamoura's lack of steel and blacksmithing practitioners, he could only learn what he could from books. He was still sad about his mother’s death, but he accepted it in time. It was the way of the world after all. This continued for some years. A little bit later, they traveled to Alvadas on a lead. Victor was elated by this development, because Alvadas had working forges where he could practice his blacksmithing.

Sometimes his father would take Victor with him on hunts. Although the expeditions were usually fruitless, they would sometimes find evidence that a Journeyman had been there before. Strange markings and symbols of trees. Colorful eggshells on the ground. Once, they even found the dead body of a journeyman, probably dying after giving birth.

On one of these hunts, when Victor was 18, he and his dad had a tip that someone had seen a demon matching the description of a Journeyman walking through the forest. As they walked, they saw the characteristic shapes in the trees that meant that there target was here. And it was really their “lucky” day, because they found it. They actually found the creature that they were searching for. It was busy carving its shape into a large oak tree, and it hadn’t noticed the two approaching, swords at the ready. The two went closer, closer, closer and finally. It turned around. The monster turned around suddenly, sinking one of its filaments into each of their hands. Victor screamed in pain, dropping his blade, but his dad held firm. He switched to the other hand and struck at the monster. The monster cut of the vengeful Isur’s arm with a flick of the tail. He stumbled backwards, his eyes screwed up in pain, tears welling up in his eyes. He opened his eyes and charged the Journeyman, trying desperately to make his dying wish come true. Victor saw something change in the monster’s eyes. And suddenly his dad was dead. Dissected, his guts spilling out across the forest floor. The journeyman looked at Victor’s sobbing, bleeding figure and stalked away through the forest. Victor tried with all his might to get up and go after the monster, but he blacked out.

Since this encounter, Victor became more like his dad. Obsessed with revenge, he started to hunt after the demon that had changed his life. Throughout this time, he has been to many of the cities throughout Mizahar, all the while seeking his vengeance.

Hello Victor and Welcome to Mizahar,

I'm Tattoo, the Character Sheet Liaison, which means I'm the official 'helper' here in the CS forum. I noticed some things about your CS that need improvement. I know it can be a struggle wading through all the lore and getting your character in playable shape - starting with the CS. That's where I come in.

The first thing I noticed was your Mark of Izurdin. While all Isur get the mark, you still need to apply in the Help Desk for the gnosis and receive your Storyteller Secrets link.

The second thing is in your history involving The Spires. You mention further learning the craft of blacksmithing from the Jamoura. The Jamoura do not practice any form of smithing within The Spires, and metal is a rarity among them.

Finally, your history with Sultros and the Journeyman I find plausible but still questionable. I'm sending your Character Sheet to Gillar for final approval on the history.

Everything else looks great. Please make the appropriate changes to your CS and PM me, I'll remove this post. Thank you for the CS and I look forward to reading your posts. Welcome to Mizahar :)
