Physical Description

James probably shouldn’t stand out from the crowd since he does his best to fit in where he needs to. In some ways, you could still consider him a child but he holds himself in a mature manner, most of the time. Thick, brownish blonde hair sprouts from his head but is kept out of the way of watchful green eyes. James is clean-shaven, but not through choice. He has a lack of ability to grow any noticeable facial hair. James appears scrawny but his lean figure simply aids in what he partakes in on his day to day life. He is a thief, a scoundrel but most importantly a free running individual who is a law unto himself. He is fast, agile and dextrous. Generally, James is seen mostly carrying his worldly possessions. His bow and blade are never out of arms reach and his quiver is secured firmly to his back. He generally always wears his armour but keeps his coat over it most of the time.

Character Concept

James has no concept of law and order or simply chooses to ignore it. The distinction was never truly made clear, even as a child. He does precisely what he wants to do and what he feels like doing. Not what would be right, just or underhand. He has no care for right or wrong, he seems to live by his own code.

The reality is far from. James grew up as an Orphan and has always done what he can to survive. But he desperately seeks a purpose, a reason for being. He knows calls no God his own and maybe this is part of the reason. Right now, he knows only to survive to continue to make a living the only way he has done for years. But his thirst for knowledge and understanding as taken him away from simple stealing to investigating rumours and stealing books containing stories and secrets.

James harbours no hatred for any particular race or people, he has never found any reason to. He is no fond of the Guards that patrol Ravok but knows that they need to make a living just as he does. He enjoys the chance and will sometimes taught a guard just to disappear in to the night, an alley or some passage they never know about. James as a remarkable intellect for understanding escape routes and memorizing terrain, especially in Ravok and this has helped him evade capture more times than he can count.

Character History

James was born an Orphan in Ravok. His Mother was a visitor taken to be a slave, her child left on some unsuspecting doorstep. The family that took him in, raised him as well as could be but aside from food, water, shelter and the most basic of education while he was young, that was all that they provided. Once James reached nine or ten, he was never too sure, they moved him in to the attic and aside from meal times, never truly spoke with the boy.

James refers to the couple as Uncle and Auntie but has never known their full names. To them, he was always Boy. It was as loving as such a relationship could get. But moving him to the attic, set James free of the strange restraints ‘family life’ imposed. Everyday, James would sneak out of the window in the attic and traverse the streets above the streets. Rooftops, ledges and balconies became his chosen method of transport. He would spend his days exploring and enjoying himself, sneaking to where he found other children and playing with them instead. After almost eight years of exploration, James knows every rooftop, alley, ledge, balcony, regular travellers and commuters though none of them know him.

James found he enjoyed listening to people, spying and finding out information and rumours about their lives. But most of all, he lived investigating them. Illicit meetings and affairs, hidden troves and treasures, none were safe from his curious eyes. He began breaking and entering in to places just to explore further. The day he broke in to a personal library changed him forever. He spent a long night pouring through book after book, reading stories of Gods and Men, Heroes and Villains, reading information about so many activities and things that could be down.

The people in the books had a purpose, given by Lhex, some weaver of Fate. Yet, it seemed Lhex had abandoned him, he had no purpose, Auntie and Uncle had never given him one, for what possible reason was he on this small match of rock? He had to find one.

Greetings, and Welcome to Mizahar!

I am Avant Garde and I am what's known here at Mizahar as a Character Sheet Liaison. My job is to help others with their Character Sheets by making sure they are correct and prepping them for playing. Here I noticed a couple of things in your Character Sheet that need some tweaking.

I see you lack a Housing Package. You either must have one of the packages provided for you HERE. If you choose not to take a Housing Package, please be advised that the Storytellers where you choose to play will be watching to make sure you take adequate responsibility for staying in an Inn or other safe place, for which you will be paying for with the money in your ledger.

Everything else looks good so far! Please make the mentioned adjustments to your Character Sheet and you'll be thread-ready! Thank you for your compliance, and I bid you a grand welcome to Mizahar! Feel free to message me with any further questions/comments/concerns. PM me after you have made the requested changes and I will remove this post.
