Tempest Chyme I am the Wind and the Storm Basic Information Race: Zith Birthday & Age : Spring 492 AV (11 years old) Gender: Male Physical Description : Unlike most Zith, lithe and thin, Tempest prides himself on his abnormal size. Although a novice to body building, the Zith has showed some promise pursuing a peak of body prowess most of his kind do not share. His wings arch above him, dark blue fur bordering on black runs along his body. Tufts of blood red fur run from his elbows and across his chest, like splashes of blood. His claws are not well kept, jagged and dirty, years of wilderness living a testament in his hands. Conversely, his midnight black hair is never cut, long and bound in a braid along his back. His true nature reveals itself in the darkened color of his skin, his pointed teeth, and luminous yellow eyes. Despite the fact he is of young age, his body is riddled with almost ritualistic scars, covered only by the barest hint of leather breeches and a belt to hold arrows. Character Concept : Tempest is a being with an intense love of both the sky and his own sister. Both are the irrevocable links he has to the world around him and his own sense of self. His relationship with Zulrav is one of adoration and respect, and he will contemplate during flights, spending as much time as he can aloft. As a passionate being, Tempest is given to intense anger and other emotions, having trouble filtering himself when his feelings are roused. When he can control himself, he practices on building the savage strength of his body and the mastery thereof. He does not necessarily feel hatred to other races for disliking his own, finding their customs, rules, and so called civilizations pretentious. He believes that all creatures share a common line of savagery just beyond the facades they wear. While not articulate enough to communicate this, there is the innate suspicion that every civilized race is just another animal afraid of showing their true selves. History : Born on a night when storms shook the heavens, Tempest was named first…for the storm. His sister followed after, the two irrevocably linked by bonds of common blood and only seconds of difference from feeling the wind on their face. A small family tribe, they were no more important than the scattered stars that filled the void, the first sight Tempest viewed. The second was his sister, borne both mother’s breast he saw her next. She was small compared to him, not too much smaller, but a female curled in an infinitesimal fetal position. There was nothing then, the barest beginning of sentient thought filled with an unparalleled wonder. But at the center of that wonder was her, her and the sky. Zith grow fast, and childhood passed easily for the twins. While a quieter, more reserved counterpart, Tempest began an almost obsessive protection of his smaller sister. He would accompany her on her hunts, stay near her in the worst of the open storms, and smile when she needed it…though the somewhat human facial command was alien to him at first. In Tempest’s life there were two immutable facts. The first was that as a creature with wings, he would always embrace the sky with all his being. The second was that his sister was his own to protect, his own to love, and his own to care for. Whether that was unhealthy for his age, whether she returned his feelings, these facts were not as pivotal as how he felt. An emotional and instinctual being, Tempest lived much of his early life embracing what he was and what his desires entailed, learning to grow strong and skilled in his application of life. There was tragedy of course, only eleven years of life and yet the existence of a Zith is no simple thing. Constant battle, striving for survival, and his own innate passions caused a good deal of hardship for the young Zith. Always he remained near his sister, the creature he loved most besides the inscrutable everlasting world that was the sky. When she left him, left her family, to begin life in the human world…her brother followed. He did not share the world she sought, living in the shadows beyond the limits of the city and always watched. He was her silent guardian, her watchful protector, but inside he grieved for what he thought he had lost…her, a Zith that had grown fond of the groundlings and their contrived ways. Only in her recent expulsion from civilization is the Zith once more in a measure of peace. His sister has returned to him in the Wildlands…and though they are without their old family, they are together…and that is what matters most.
