T'nika

Postby T'nika on August 12th, 2011, 4:22 am

Race: Konti
Sex: Female
Age: 47 (Appears 15)

Appearance: Long white hair frames a face carved out of porcelain. Dark green eyes, almost to the point of being black. There are slivers of bright violet in her dark eyes, and they give her face a haunted, fey look. She stands at roughly 5 feet exactly and weighs around 95 pounds. Her skin is pale, yet it doesn't easily burn. Shells are braided into strands of her hair along with the feathers of ospreys.

Marks from her history as a Zith slave mar T'nika's otherwise unblemished skin. A brand was placed on the back of her left shoulder, marking her dominant hand, and scars crisscross her back from wips as well as Zith claws tearing her skin.

T'nika most commonly will wear a simple black dress on Mura, which makes her appear gothic and ghostly, but will sometimes deign to wear emerald shifts. She wears knee-high sandals and a long black cloak when necessary.

Scales pattern her pale flesh in exotic designs, starting from the first and third finger of both hands and feet and dancing along her arms and legs. The ones from her arms meet at her shoulders and curve up her neck to re-emerge at her cheekbones and the center of her brow where they descend to the tip of her nose. The ones on her legs meet just above her rear, crossing over her pelvis, and snake up her back to mingle with the ones at her neck. Scales also shimmer on the edges of her gills and at the webbing between her fingers and toes.

Personality: T'nika's time as a slave scarred her mind irreparably. She suffers periods of insanity, either speaking in a tongue not spoken anywhere on Mizahar or conversing with people not there. She also will, on occasion, burst into hysterical laughter but has begun to fight down this unnatural occurrence.

She, as one of Avalis' own daughters, was marked by her Mother at birth with the ability to glimpse a person's past through touch. Due to the stress and emotional as well as physical abuse of Zith slavery, T'nika lost control of her gift and it became a curse. Now, whenever a person touches her she will fall into shock as their whole life story is shoved onto her and overwhelms her. She can control what she sees if she is knowing of the touch, but if it catches her off guard it will break her further. It was said once that if she focused her gift, she could watch the past lives of others, but if that's true she never says so.

When not overwhelmed by vision or suffering her typical bouts of insanity, T'nika is a quiet, reclusive young Konti. She'd alienated herself from all others but the best of healers and her closest friends, which are few and far between. She's kind to the people she meets and can appear the sanest of Konti until she snaps. Due to her lonely nature, T'nika suffers even more. She doesn't want people to come close to her and see she is insane, and she wants them to at the same time.

History: Born to N'nakka Tilurien in Mura, T'nika was taken by her mother as N'nakka answered "The Call" by following T'nika's father as he traveled in his caravan. Her father was an Eypharian, but T'nika has no memories of him as he as well as her mother were ripped away from her life when Zith attacked the caravan and took her. All she can remember of her mother is that her eyes were mixed as well, with blue splintering violet.

For twenty some years T'nika was a slave to the Zith, raped every day after she turned 15 and bearing one child for the monsters. The infant girl died, killed by T'nika herself out of desperation. She didn't want her daughter to suffer as well and, like a she-cat that would do anything to protect her litter, she broke her daughter's neck. One of the visions that plague her is of the woman her daughter would have grown up to be.

T'nika was deemed useless when it became apparent that no amount of beatings would return her sanity, and the Zith that was her master and the father of the dead child considered devouring his Konti. Before he could, however, the colony he kept her with was attacked and T'nika was freed by a mage and his friends. The people who saved her returned her to Mura, but they were often witness to the madness that had consumed their ward. The mage that had helped her out of her cage decided to teach her magics, even though he knew the disciplines could very well kill her.

From him, T'nika became acquaintanced with Auristics and, eventually, Reimancy. The ability to see how people felt was much more harmful than good, but Reimancy brought her something to calm herself with.

She now inhabits Mura, but is considering answering a Call of her own.
