40th day of Summer, 511 AV

Miro had made Kinneas quite angry in the earlier part of the day. A prank gone wrong had left Kinneas with a leg completely covered in ice, but that did not stop him from chasing him out of the house. He ran out of the house and just behind him was his best friend, threatening to kill him. Pushing flux through his muscles he gained a bit of distance. He turned a corner and nearly lost his footing. He scampered ahead even further when a familiar sight caught his eye, the Sunken Conundrum. He flung the doors open and jumped into the body of water that laid ahead.

Miro caught himself holding his breath by instinct until he started to feel his oxygen running short. Letting the air out, he watched bubbles float away. He inhaled deep several times trying to get used to the strange atmosphere. It was not his first experience with the illusion, but that did not settle his mind any. After a moment he found himself amused by the water all around him. Wondering how he flux and water mixed, he tried to devise a way to entertain himself. Perhaps nobody would mind him kicking off walls. No, that was not smart, he had heard too many stories of Morcer's rage. Maybe he could find another person to ease his boredom. He sat down near the entrance and waited for somebody to catch his eye. As usual, if nothing interesting happened soon, he would leave to find something new to entertain him.

[The Sunken Conundrum] Curious Calamity (Fela & Miro)

40th Day of Summer, 511 AV

Fela stepped outside into what looked like a sunny Alvadas day, granted most days here seemed sunny and bright, and was greeted with a rush of cold wind which left ice crystals hanging from her eye lashes. The jungle cat shivered in the chilly air only to find the heat of Syna beating down on her, competing with the freezing wind. Fela grumbled under her breath but would never dare cursing Ionu for his trickery, she was becoming used to it. Fela was only thankful to have her home be on solid ground.

The pounding of feet caught her attention. She looked up just in time to watch as two men tore from a house and down the ever changing streets. She suppressed a giggle as the second man gave chase, encasing his leg was a block of ice. Despite his obvious handicap the man was able to keep up with the other quite well.

Fela crossed her arms and gave a puzzled look as all of a sudden the younger of the two men gained a second wind and tore down the street at a breakneck speed. She soon lost sight of him and by the time she was done staring down the empty road the other man was now no longer anywhere to be seem. Fela gave a sigh,
well that was entertaining for well....a breath. She shouldered her backpack and went about her way.

This was one of the few days off she had had since she started working for Kirwen. The man was a grump but he paid well so she did not complain. It was his grumpiness that kept food in her ever hungry belly.

The downside to her current position was the fact that in all fairness...she wasn't very good at what she did. That realization sunk in the other day after a very angry customer came in with a blue face. That's right, they had a blue face. Fela learned that day that two berries may look just alike, taste just alike and smell just alike but one was good for a facial cleanse and the other when mixed with the oils of your skin created a everlasting blue dye.

So what did Fela get to do with her off day? Research. Her bad attitude weighing more than the pack on her back she set out to study plants at the Sunken Conundrum.

Her feet found their way there quickly but hesitated before entering the building. She remembered her last visit here...with a shudder she stepped through into the building. Fela squeezed her eyes shut and waited for the burning and sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. Reluctantly she opened one eye, it never came. Her breathing was as easy in here as it would be in the air. The sensation of water being expelled through the gills along her ribcage was a source of amazement and uneasiness.

Fela grinned at her progress, now for the ultimate test. Turning her body the cat propelled herself forward through the water by kicking off the floor. She started losing momentum and it was time to test her swimming. Fela quickly found it was just as bad as before and was once again having to paddle in the most undignified way ever to reach the shelves near the back wall.

Closing her eyes Fela pushed on hoping no one was around to see her pathetic attempts. She paddled for all she was worth and had actually picked up some speed when stars exploded into her vision and the cat was knocked backwards through the water. Opening her eyes again Fela could see she had veered off the straight line path she had planned and ran headlong into a table, none too far from the door she might add. This seemed like a regular occurrence for the her these days. As being both a clumsy individual with no sense of direction and living in a city that changed as often as one would breathe, the likelihood of her running into something or falling off something was ever growing. This would be the fourth time this week she had run into something, granted this time it was completely her fault.

A deep blush tinted her cheeks as she planted her feet as firmly as she could on the floor of the library. While she stood waiting for her beating heart to calm down a lone book left floating by an earlier reader came floating by and rammed into her head before gently floating on to find its next victim. The thud sounding off in her head was almost as if to say, "no one likes you and this will be a bad day". The dull throbbing in her head was nothing compared to her now further bruised ego.
