Look up Lipizzaner some time and you'll see the training I'm talking about. It's higher schooling for horses that was originally taught as battle maneuvers. It would have been things like Levade, Capriole, Courbette. These are dressage movements applied to war horses. Nowadays it's just something to look at but way back in medieval times, these were highly advanced moves that taught horses to be fearless and ferocious in battle, and protect themselves and their riders. It's literally unarmed combat for horses.
