Physical Description
Sabin's eyes are probably his most apparent attribute, they are brown, cold, and apathetic but marked with a calm fierceness and tribulation. He wears plain, but long and thick, black robes that are stained with gravedust on the hem and sleeves. His hair is a short brown and left to it's own devices, it spikes slightly. His skin is pale and tinged grey very slightly. His robes hold many pockets of varying sizes inside.
Character Concept
Sabin is a cold individual, but not because of a regular use of harsh language, nor because he does not speak to anyone else--he is merely indifferent to a fault. He will sit in the middle of a tavern bustling with people, and if any of the activities around him are related to his goals of being there he will seek after them. If the activities are not of interest or use, he will merely ignore them. He is very good at blocking the outside world while studying intensely.
Character History
Sabin was raised in Lhavit, but even at his birth he could feel how him and his mother truly did not belong. It was only him and his mother Sorova in that bright city. Sorova worked in a small town on the outskirts of Lhavit as the Mortician and Undertaker for the local community.
She was considered extremely beautiful, and Sabin remembers many times during his childhood where strange men would stop by their small apartment and attempt to court Sorova. She was a cold woman however, similar in coldness to Sabin, and her placid refusals where calm and seemingly without emotion.
She would give no excuses, just a simple, unoffensive refusal.
Her work seemed quite important to her. She would speak with her son often of her practice, teaching him much of medicine, embalming, undertaking, anthropology, she was a very skilled individual. Sorova was uninhibited by the occasional unpleasantness that came when dealing with the dead, enjoying the entire endeavor. It was when she was working that she would converse easily, going into detail with purpose and insight.
As Sabin grew older his mother began to talk less of the mundane of her work, and began carefully hinting at another practice she partook in: Malediction and Animation. Sabin was immediately enamored, becoming obsessed with these two practices. His mother was far more unassuming, but when Sabin was one day caught collecting the corpse of a crow--and couldn't give a logical answer as to why without revealing his dark interests that the townspeople began to suspect.
So it was that when Sabin was the age of 19 Sorova's dark magics were discovered. She was not very well tolerated, and was taken by an angry mob away from her son. She had left behind for him a strange, large book of human flesh which she used to study from continually when she was alone just before she was taken away. He was given some supplies and was instructed to leave Lhavit, and pursue his potential.
