Ninth day of the Summer Season 493 A.V.
It was another great day, a young Vantha girl stumbled out of her home, and into the cold air. "I guess I should probably go get some food." She said to herself, something she does a lot. She set out towards the gate and nodded at the guards. She then walked off towards a fishing hole in the ice, and waited for a bear to do the fishing for her. After about a few minutes, one of the large white furred beasts appeared. Polar bears naturally stray away from people, but they have never minded Vespirus. She stared intently as the bear looked into the water. A small ripple appeared, and the bear attacked. It pawed and slashed, until the spray of water cleared and the bear emerged victorious, a large bass with three fins on each side, hanging from it's mouth.
The girl looked the bear in the eye, and then looked at the fish. The bear put down the fish, and growled at the girl. She got in a crouched stance, and growled back. The bear charged her, bearing it's teeth. The monstrous animal went for a tackle, but Vespirus was faster, and she sidestepped to the left. The polar bear slid across the ice, and came to a slow halt. The polar bear's huge size kept it from getting up fast enough, and the girl jumped on it's back. Despite her lack in size and strength, she could easily bend the polar bears limbs, due to her knowledge in animals, she knew exactly where to bend the polar bears joints, and force them in a restraint. She took the polar bear's arm, and forced it on the furry white back of the bear. She flipped the bear onto it's back so it can't move it's arm. "Sorry about this, but I really need that fish, and I can't get one myself. Sorry again." She pushed the polar bear through the ice, and ran for the fish. The polar bear, startled by the sudden rush of water, struggled to grasp a ledge, but when she did the girl had already vanished with the fish.
She walked back in through the massive Icy gates of Avanthal. The bustle of the city began to bore her, so Vespirus hurried into her home, a small cottage in the city. She removed a free block of ice in the ground and dove in. She had been working on her secret study chamber for almost a year now. Vespirus landed in a huge pool of water, and quickly scampered onto land. She had carved a huge table in the center of the room, and 33 bookshelves on the wall, even though only 8 were filled. There was a big cage of ice on the far side, for temporarily studying animals. She took a book on penguins off a shelf, and sat down in front of the table, then opened the book. After 4 hours of reading she slowly began to drift asleep. Her eyelids feeling heavier, and heavier, the more she read, the more tired she got. Eventually she let the urge to sleep take over her, she closed her eyes and lay her head down. Reality drifted away, and dreams closer.
