Who? Rorugir? You mean that isur with the black arm and the shifty look in his eye? Sure, I remember him. He's got the mark of a wizard, that one. No, I can't prove anything...there's just something about him. Something mysterious and strange, and...dangerous.

Character Traits

Constant: Inquisitive (Positive), Ambitious (Negative)
Situational: Deliberate (Positive), Secretive (Negative)

Leaving his enclosed home for the wilds and wonders of the outer world, Rorugir Steelrune Pitrius is a young mage and blacksmith who has taken up residence in Lhavit for the time being. A dreamer, and an ambitious one at that, he has plans to change the world. But first, he has to actually survive it.

Soon, Rorugir will reaffirm his faith in Izurdin, and maybe one day become one of his Priests. His thirst for knowledge will inspire him to obtain the gnosis mark of Dreamwalking and join the secretive brotherhood known as the Cytali. It will also force him to take on a mission of a much more personal nature: to raise his race back up to their former glory, to become the salvation of the isur people...

[PC Plotnotes] Rorugir Steelrune Pitrius

Goal: To exceed expectations.

Ambition. It is something Rorugir has in spades. Ever since he was a child Rorugir has had big dreams. He wants to accomplish things - to leave his mark on the world, in any way he can. It provides the basis for his personality, makes him who he is - is what drives him constantly to do better and better. For Rorugir, to go above and beyond is the greatest goal someone can achieve.

The causes for his ambition are complex and varied. However, most of it can be boiled down to his upbringing: Rorugir was raised by noble and distinguished parents - his father a well-renowned Sentinel, his mother a relative of the clan leader - Rorugir always did have big shoes to fill. A naturally competitive and determined attitude meant that Rorugir always meant to fill them.

But how does Rorugir plan to exceed expectations? That part is unknown, even to him. For now, his eyes are turned inward - like most isur, he wants to help his race. Even his abrupt departure from his people's home city, Sultros, that was all part of a plan to help his people - in the back of his mind, Rorugir has always had the desire to raise the isur back to their former, pre-Valterrian, glory.

In a word, he wants to be the savior of his people, just like King Sultros before him.

I did say he was ambitious.

Religion: Izurdin

Like the majority of his people, Rorugir attributes the majority of his faith to Izurdin, the god of industry. He sees Izurdin as the ultimate manifestation of what every isur strives to be - hardworking, skilled, and powerful.

His early childhood, spent in Sultros, obviously influenced this view, but it wasn't until he journeyed out into the world that Rorugir started praying seriously to Izurdin. It was only in the harsh reality of what life is like for the rest of Mizahar did Rorugir recognize truly how important it was to persevere and keep going, even in the face of insurmountable odds.

For this reason, Izurdin will always be the god Rorugir holds closest to his heart.

& Nysel

An imaginative mind can somethings be viewed as the opposite of hardworking one. In Rorugir, these polar opposites come together to form a cohesive whole. He wants to make his dreams a reality, and will stop at nothing to do so.

For Rorugir, the land of dreams is the utopia the land of living can only strive to emulate. Anything can be accomplished there. Anything.

It is the one thing that can currently sate his ambition, and for this Rorugir grudgingly pays Nysel tribute.
