A Long Trip Down a Hill... Literally (flashback V'alera)

[S'aria]

"Okay, but keep your knife out." S'aria jumped in to the water after she set her ax down. The water was very clear, and she didn't see much of anything. She opened her mouth, breathing in water. Instead of causing her to choke, the water merely poured out of the side of her neck, as if she had gills, and the air went to her lungs. Being a Konti had great advantages at times.

[V'alera]

V'alera took out her knife like her sister told her to do, V'alera became impatient as she waited for her sister to resurface.

[S'aria]

Finally spotting the ax, S'aria swam to the bottom. She did a three sixty just to make sure nothing was in the water with her, then grabbed the pickax. As she began to swim up, she looked back to see the ground starting to move a bit. She ignored it, and reached the surface. "Got it!" S'aria hoisted herself out of the water, and walked towards her sister. "Here." She tossed the ax to her sister.

[V'alera]

"Thanks!" V'alera exclaimed with joy as she reunited with her precious treasure "I was getting worried!" V'alera held her ax in her hand as if a new bond has been created among two friends who were destined to meet "I want to mine right now." V'alera proclaimed as she gleamed into her sisters eye with a yearning to mine for sparkly gems.

[S'aria]

"I see that you missed your ax quite a bit." S'aria laughed to see the childish bond between her sister and the mining tool. Out of her excitement, she wondered if V'alera should find some friends. Oh well, it's good that she likes mining. Besides, if she really likes mining, she could make a living off of it. "Okay, okay, just calm down. We'll be pretty lucky if we find anything though." She walked towards a large rock with her ax in hand. "How do you want to do this? Are we trying to do the job fast, or perfect?"

[V'alera]

"I think we should mine fast, mom and dad would most likely wake up soon, so I say that we should quickly get as many gems as we could and speed out of here!" V'alera explained "don't you agree?"

[S'aria]

"Okay then." S'aria rose the pickax above her head, and brought it down on the rock in front of her. She continued to mine on the rock for about ten minutes. The effort of mining was taking it's toll on S'aria, but she was used to it. She finally saw a sparkle beneath the mass of brown gravel. It was a pretty blue, solid gem. "I found one!" S'aria exclaimed at her sister. "We should come back here again when we have free time! This place is good luck!" It is usually rare to find a gem so fast, and unless this place was a hot spot for gems, it would be pretty unlikely to find many more.

S'aria was a bit tired from the mining, so she decided to sit down and drink some water. "Hey where are those snacks you packed Vally?" She reached over to pick up the jewel, and held it in her hand. It seemed to be a sapphire, but S'aria wasn't always right, after all she had only been mining for a year or two.

[V'alera]

"Oh I have them right here!" responded V'alera while reaching into her satchel, then almost immediately when V'alera reached into her satchel, she pulled out a delicious mouse on a stick and hands it to her sister "here you go, I have another for me so we wont have to worry about sharing." V'alera is content with her organization, she always remembered what her mom said "When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail" and there has never been a time when it has been proven wrong.

[S'aria]

"Thank you sister." S'aria ate the rat. The mining continued for about another hour. In the result of it all, they only found about four precious jewels, and due to their reckless mining, one of them was broken. "Well, three isn't bad at all." S'aria flipped her long hair, "We should go, we wouldn't want mother to get worried about us, and father would only tell her it's okay for us to be out making the matter worse." She grabbed her ax and slung it on her back, like she had done the spear before.

[V'alera]

"I agree sister, you know how father is, maximum punishment all the way" said V'alera in a sad disposition, V'alera then knelt down to the water and splashed water on her face to get the grime and dirt off, then as she looked in the reflection she noticed that there was a thin layer of fine dust making her hair appear dirty blonde compared to her icy blonde hair that is usually framing her innocent face.
