Lanick Simms is a handsome man with an average build and no scars to be seen. His attire hints that he has some amount of wealth and he fairly consistently smells intensely of cigar smoke. The most striking feature of Lanick Simms, however, is his exaggerated moustache and his mischevious smirk.
Concept
Lanick Simms is a follower of Ionu. In fact, he reveres Ionu to such a degree of arrogance that he seeks to match the level of skill possessed by the deity. Lanick Simms is a puppeteer and jester at heart with a soft spot for only a few things. Lanick enjoys taking risks, sometimes to manipulate and other times simply because it seems fun. He likes to gamble, and enjoys being at the mercy of chance. That said, he always has an ace in the hole, and he is finally prepared for the biggest game of all. It's time to meet his maker. Lanick Simms aims to catch Ionu's eye.
Background
Lanick Simms was his name in life. And even then, it was a name only his mother knew. Lanick's obsession with Ionu began at the age of fifteen. Unlike many Nuit who take centuries to become bored, Lanick saw the monotony of life in only a decade. He lived for thirty-five years, growing from an orphan to a street urchin, to a grand thief, to a con-man. He went through dozens of names and even more stories. Lanick, however, was not satisfied. After spending his whole life chasing tedious tricks without becoming bored by them, he realized living forever was something that would suit him well. After a fair bit of research, Lanick discovered that, with enough ichor, there was a chance that he could attain immortality...and the ability to change his face entirely, escaping the crimes of one life and beginning the crimes of another. And so, his journey began. Lanick used whatever alias was necessary, spending weeks or even months gaining credibility with those around him before tracking a Nuit and exposing his crimes to the people. If the Nuit had not committed any crimes, Lanick saw to it that the undead appeared guilty. As the months passed, Nuit after Nuit began falling out and being persecuted by villagers across the land, and Lanick's jar of ichor grew fuller and fuller. When he felt the jar was as full as necessary, he rolled the dice. The transformation worked. Lanick is still new to life as an undead, living forty years as a human trickster and on his first as an undead creature. The learning curve itself is a part of Lanick's amusement. But there is much to amuse him now...and forever.
