As Nica started talking, Sera had to lean in closer as her sister was whispering. So, she was worried someone would hear her. Why? Was this a big secret? That was not like her sister at all. Sera looked around quietly, observing that no one was in listening distance. And she was talking about a... dream? Sera bit her lip. "Uh..." She began but stopped herself, realizing it was better to just let her sister vent. 'Is she really telling me about a dream... That's so... odd of her.' "Go on..." She urged and crossed her legs irritably. Sure, they needed to talk, but this wasn't what she was expecting. This wasn't what she was expecting at all. 'So she doesn't want to talk about me leaving?' The girl sighed and continued biting her lip until her sister was finished talking.
"Well..." She said in her normal sing-song voice, "First of all, I think you're the one bringing this on. Cause at first thought it sounds like Morwen, but I don't think she'd be dangerous. I really don't. She’s our Goddess afterall…" Sera sighed, yet again, her voice getting louder. "Sister, I think you've just stressed yourself to the limit." The girl got up and began walking in circles, trying to play out what her sister had said. If anything, she could come up with something to calm the poor girl's nerves, even if it was just an act. Sera didn't know anything about the meaning of dreams, but she could make something up. 'Should I just let her believe whatever?' She stopped and looked to the sky, noticing that fine flakes of snow were falling. “Morwen?” She whispered and felt as if it was time for both her and her sister to visit the temple, but she wouldn’t mention the idea to her sister until this conversation was over. AND if it was actually needed.
“Alright, enough!” She barked. “Nica, I’m not sure what you’re trying to get out of me but I will say that we were, indeed, arguing before your little… fainting act.” She sounded more annoyed than she actually was. “First of all, you make your dream sound as if you’re lost and saw… Well Morwen I assume, buuuuut, I have a distinct feeling that, that was brought on by our argument. It’s kind of a self-fulfilled prophecy? Perhaps. Was it that you wanted to create a reason for me to stay or was it that you needed a reason to make me question your sanity…? Or your health?”
Sure, her sister didn’t want Sera to leave. That was obvious from what had happened days earliar. And Sera made it clear that she didn’t want to bring her sister with. At least not until she “grew up” a bit and stopped being scared of doing stuff on her own. The sisters had so much in common, but were also polar opposites at the same time. In all reality, Sera was fed up with Nica’s antics.
Her whole life, she compared herself to her older sister. Nica was only a year older. Why did that cause such a difference? As Sera stared into Nica’s eyes, she remembered all that she could. Her sister was always there, always caring, but also always fearing. She had a sweet soul, kind and tender. She’d make a beautiful wife someday and would also be an amazing mother. Sera blinked, turning her eyes a deep blue. Her sister was so much like their mother, as she was like their father. Sera stepped forward and grabbed her sister’s hands once again, then pulled her off the rock to stand up.
“Nica, If you did dream of Morwen, why did you feel as if she was dangerous? That’s not right? And if it was someone else… Why did you…” The words got caught in her throat. Sera looked down, breaking eye contact. “Oh my goodness, Nica!” She finally cried out, “I’m not leaving you. At least not yet.” She folded her arms in front of her chest again. It was strange how bluntly honest she was around her sister. It was possible that was what made them so close. But it was also possible that was what made them so distant. Sera felt bad about the whole ordeal, the conversation they had, had, just days before. She felt sincerely horrible. “I’m so sorry about upsetting you.”
