Winter 35 511 AV
It was mid-afternoon. Everyone was out getting what they needed done. Sera, sat outside her room, looking around the hallway with a frustrated look in her eyes. Seemed like her parents were sick of her getting everything she needed by their means. So, it was time to get a job. Well, they thought it was anyways. Sera on the other hand, thought she could wait a while, but that failed in such a miserable manner. They were no longer going to help her with money handling. The Vantha girl ran her fingers through dark strands of her curly hair, trying to think of how to handle the situation. She let out a sigh and hit the back of her head against the wall. 'Alright...' She said to herself, 'Put a smile on your face. Make the most of it.'
She got to her feet and pranced down the hallway to the main entrance. 'Who is it I'm supposed to look for?' She wondered, and looked around as people passed by. The large glass windows let in the beautiful afternoon light. Sera held her hand up, blocking the sun's rays from burning her colorful eyes. 'Father said there was probably a job available for carving out street poles and working on the beautifully intricate signage.' Quietly, she moved towards a door. 'Was this where I was supposed to go?' She asked herself and hesitated. 'I should ask around first...' She turned on her heel and made her way towards the closet person. A girl with a smiling face. Sera didn't know her by name but had seen her around.
"Excuse me, I'm looking for... erm..." She bit her lip. "Actually I don't know who I'm looking for. I need a job." Embarrassed, Sera folded her arms in front of her chest. "ANy ideas where I'm supposed to go, who I'm supposed to ask..."
The girl frowned, then pointed back to that door. "Well, I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for but it you go in there you might find someone." Sera winced at her own stupidity. "Good luck!" The girl said kindly.
"Thank you." She responded and returned to that door. 'Put on a smile. Breathe. You'll be fine.' The girl knocked on the door twice, then opened it, peering her head in. 'Why am I nervous? Is this because this is something serious? It's just a job after all. It's supposed to be fun. And Father said he'd help me if I need it.' With a deep breath she began to speak in her normal sing-song voice, "Excuse me!" She began, "I was told I could find someone to talk to who works with jobs and such things. Where should I go? Who do I need to talk to?" So, she was slightly nervous, and she was speaking quickly, but hopefully no one would hold it against her. She was asking for her first job after all.
