Kirjava (Kalean Zith)

Postby Kirjava on January 3rd, 2012, 7:31 pm

name. Kirjava (pronounced Keer-yava)

physical information.
>gender. Female
>race. Zith
>age. Twelve
>birthday. Autumn 42nd 499 AV

physical description.
>body. Pint-sized and yet fierce enough to match a person several times her size, Kirjava is one of the beautiful creatures of the night with large bat-like wings, sharp black claws, and a subtle red tinge to her nearly completely black fur. She is merely three inches short of being five feet and weaighs just ninety pounds, allowing for a combination of speed and stealth that can assist her in decimating the lonely trio of travelers. Set in her dark face are glittering gemstones of piercing topaz. Long wild red hair frames her deliciously exotic face and her dark eyelids are heavy with deep burgundy lashes. If it weren’t for her bestial appearance, one would find Kirjava attractive.
>clothes. Kirjava wears merely a harness to carry her belongings and has no need of anything else when she is fully capable of flying.

character history.
>pre-creation. Kirjava originates from a colony of Zith in the extreme south of Kalea and as such was raised in completely different biomes, one of the rainforest and one of the cliffy, mountainous Kalea. Her colony was a feral one, as far from human habitation as possible, even though they ventured into human territory on their hunts. The slave trade they participated in was only to acquire a wider variety of tastes to suit their paletes. Kirjava’s colony had little use for man-made homes and they existed well enough in trees and caves. Kirjava was only made different by a strange whim of fate. She was intrigued by one of the prisoners the Zith brought back from the city that shifted, a man with horns during the night but fur during the day. He was confusing for their kind, an oddity, and he lived only so they could understand what manner of creature he was. His Zith scent confused their noses for they had never brushed it before, but his yellow eyes and red fur was a trait of their colony. He even spoke their language with only an accent. He told them he was a revived soul but they had no knowledge of the concept of a soul and so didn’t fully believe him. Kirjava took a fancy to this man and he named her in the fashion of his own kind after some long-forgotten constellation that didn’t glimmer this far south. He stirred within her the desire to understand and even though he was doomed to die she would live on with his spirit of curiousity and adventure.

character concept.
>personality. Kirjava was until recently a Zith who only participated in encounters with other races for the sake of hunting for food. Her mindframe is still bent on viewing others as some form of prey although as slaves rarely come to mind. She reacts bizarrely to strangers, approaching them in curiousity but retrating warily when they approach her. She is far more comfortable in the sky and may stalk those who interest her for hours on end as she tries to figure them out. Kirjava is emotionally driven to complete tasks set to her and focuses with a single-minded determination that can be quite puzzling to those with a more relaxed mindframe. She isn’t often paranoid but for during the day. She tends to keep her ‘den’ outside of human cities in the wilderness where she feels safest and only brings people there for the sake of sating her hunger.
>morals. Kirjava doesn’t trust outside races and is wary of their motives even as they are rightfully wary of hers. She won’t willingly help anyone but the urge to fight is always there barely contained by the facade of humanism. She is not likely to like anyone enough to call them a friend and yet may only assist her friends in times of need. Kirjava is a born killer and has instincts that push her to kill repeatedly which she doesn’t always fight.
>religion. Kirjava has no name for her beliefs. Until quite recently she didn’t even know of a soul, but every one of her colony knows of a great winged darkness that supposedly formed their race when the world burned many lifetimes ago.
>likes. Kirjava has little knowledge of meaningful likes and dislikes. She likes the sense of elation that fills her when she takes a life or fights and the sense of accomplishment that fills her when her curiousity or drive wins out and she gains knowledge of something new.
>dislikes. Kirjava, in comparison to what she likes, dislikes being controlled. She dislikes failure and has a tendency to kill or destroy those things she can’t understand just so they cease to bother her.
