Cerulean Pier Standing proudly beside the bustling docks, the pier is a popular location amongst the student population of Zeltiva. It houses a tavern, an eatery (when food isn't being rationed), and an aquarium, and many walk along the lengthy promenade to stare out to sea. In the evenings, lovers watch the waves with clasped hands. The Cerulean Pier is actually a replacement. Zeltiva had always had one, but the original was destroyed beyond repair by the Valterrian. The driftwood from that pier still washes up on foreign shores sometimes. As Zeltiva found its feet again, a band of sailors grouped together to build the new pier, as a gift to the city and its inhabitants. There are small carvings on the edges of the pier, some of Eyris, and some of Laviku - an attempt to capture both the seafaring and studious aspects of Zeltiva. Though open all day and night to public access, the pier is closed off during storms or particularly rough seas. When the coldest of the bonesnapper bites, small sections of the pier can freeze as waves hit it. During the Great Storm of Spring, 512 AV, the pier was severely damaged, with half of it collapsing into the sea. The damage was strangely symbolic, since the pier had previously been destroyed in the Valterrian.
