Physical Description: Vadith is a tall, angular boy with skin like porcelain, his silvery veins just barely visible beneath. He is near 6'2" in height and has eyes a rich shade of red, his arms of the incontestable Symenestran length, each finger ending in a black claw. His hair is uniformly black and just slightly longer than shoulder length, bordering on unkempt, as wispy strands of his hair tend to stick out in any direction they please. Vadith holds himself with an inborn grace and dignity that all members of his web, the Oleander Web, share. He is not Herculean by anyone's standards, but he does have an appealing body, muscled lithely. His preferred clothing style reflects his near-aristocratic upbringing. Also, he has several small, thin scars on his forearm where his father's claws had dug into him in his youth.


Character Concept: Vadith has been dispatched from Kalinor, out into the world for the Harvest, to find a surrogate to mate. However, he inwardly disagrees with the whole process, thinking it cruel to take a woman to bed and then allowing her to die so soon after. He is a firm believer in love, though he keeps that bit to himself. He knows he isn't ready for parenthood, though he does want a family in the future. He's torn between wanting children and a long-lasting relationship with a wife, and so has thus far in his life gone without a lover and convinced himself out of any affection he might have for someone.

He went to Lhavit, not to capture a surrogate, but instead with the intentions of furthuring his knowledge and education. He is a deeply psychological fellow and has always looked to better himself in the intellectual arts. After all, there were few schools in Kalinor that offered education past the basics and that weren't in the interest of weaving.

A small, desperately hopeful part of him is indeed looking for a relationship of a romantic nature, though he assumes he'd probably think better of it if the situation ever presented itself. And it was all for a girl's benefit not to fall in love with him . . . wasn't it? She would be safe and could go on with her own life to marry and have children that wouldn't kill her before even being born.


Character History: He is the first son of Dedalus and Naelys Oleander, the latter of which died soon after his birth. His father wed another female Symenestra named Sylhea, who recently died after giving birth to Dedalus' second child and Vadith's half-sister, Liserath. Vadith and Liserath get along quite well, despite the age differnce, because little Lisa taught him to be better with children. On a different note, Vadith's relationship with his father is dreadful. He was spoiled as a child, having been born into the affluent web of Oleander, and grew up with whatever he could ever ask for. He asked for little.

He was a quiet, curious child and has been the same throughout his entire life. He has always been profoundly skilled with weaving words and silks, but never even slightly skilled at making conversation. This has left him awkward and mostly estranged, though he prefers it that way. His alienation gave him a morbid, sardonic, and dry sense of humor.
He wishes he had grown up with a mother and that he didn't have the father he was given. True, he feels ungrateful for that, but less so in the light of Dedalus's greed. He graduated each school he attended with flying colors, if not at the head of the class. Afterwards, he immersed himself in books and training until the Do-Vedenza Kina during his eighteenth year. It was then that he left for the Harvest, for several reasons. Because it was his duty as the first son. Because it was expected of him. Because a part of him had known well that he never had the intention of fulfilling it. That he would leave the nest, leave Kalinor, perhaps even leave the whole of Kalea if only to live his adult life independently, without his father whispering commands in his ear, without the duty of murdering a beautiful young maiden for the continuation of the Symenestra race.


Likes: An extensive list, detailing every science and every avenue of education known to the races of Mizahar. He especially finds interest in the nature and production of poisons, psychology, and in Mizaharian history. He has a morbid fascination with death. He likes quiet places lit solely by the moon, freedom, intelligent conversation, and people that accept Symenestra. He also has a thing for smart girls.


Dislikes: Immense greed, great crowds, show-offs. Destructive, overbearing, loud people. Sometimes, most of all, he feels his poison is a curse more than it is a blessing.
