While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

5th day of Winter 511 AV

How could this have happened? Bob was lost and dare I say it, alone in the Wildlands. "This is all your fault Jinsen!" because it just was. Bob was leisurely riding down the path see. Just slightly behind his companions with Jinsen right in front of them. The scenery seemed to be a little bit different and he was busy looking around the place only which was why he told Bobo to "follow Jinsen" thinking that the dog would be following everyone else because he told it to "stay on Zenai...no Eri...wait no Zenai is better. You know what? Anyone you want to follow would be the same" as long as it did it correctly down the path that Bob pointed at after those with the names he just mentioned. Maybe he should not have done that because the dog might have been confused, diverting down the path with Bobo right behind it. What Bobo had that Bob did not was horse sense (no pun intended) and ignored the dog to go down the path.

Unfortunately it was Bob with the reins. Bob who periodically looked right in the front of him away from the trees to make sure that Bobo was following that white beacon ahead. When he saw Jinsen moving to the side, it was all he needed. Ignoring the proper path he pulled Bobo after Jinsen asking it "where are you going? I told you to follow Jinsen" before shouting out behind the dog to "wait up Jinsen! If you are gone how are we going to find the rest of the group?" By following the path of course but Bob did not think that far when he kicked the horse to follow that dog which was speeding up through the woods. Right until he was hopelessly and completely lost.

No one would actually be able to tell where they are coming from and where they are going to because all those trees are the same. The only thing that Bob knew was that he soon ended up at a pond with the namesake of that hated goddess Priskil. He knew it too from how the people described it and shouted at Jinsen "don't drink the water!" He did not want his dog getting corrupted by hope. All he needed from it was loyalty. Putting Bobo into a trot he moved into the clearing slowly. Directing it towards Jinsen before he dismounted and pulled the dog away from the pond feeling rather pleased that he avoided something he would not like. His feelings were short lived when he exclaimed "not you too Bobo!" who was drinking the water after it was running so much with that deadweight on top of it. "Whatever you both want then" the stupid animals. "Just don't blame me when you start feeling that later." They would have to learn the hard way and hopefully it will not involve a boar this time.

Leaving the animals on their own, Bob started to look around the pond. "I don't see what is so special about this place. Slap the name Priskil and those religious airheads think that it is magnificent." They should have made a special place for Kelwyn instead. At least those two took action on their own as Bob experienced. Maybe even Sagallius. His exploits are really something everytime he though about it but those Priskil followers which were jealous of him resort to slander. Proof of why Bob does his best to ignore the false hope they try to circulate around. "So are you done yet you two? We need to find the others before it gets dark" and knowing Bob it might even be worse than that because he might get lost. He was not in charge of the trip so why should he have a map?

[Priskil's Pond]I am not going to ask for directions!(Emily)

Postby Emily Valor on February 19th, 2012, 11:23 pm

Emily sat very quietly within some bushes next to a tree. Her body rests very gracefully upon her feet, as her knees are bent to lower herself close to the ground. A simple longbow rests within her grasp, an arrow in the other hand. The woman's hair is tied back tightly with a red ribbon. The rest of her clothing consists of neutrals to better help her blend in with her surroundings. Her skin is pale and dirty. The huntress didn't get the chance to bathe much as she struggled to survive in the wilderness.

She normally made it by somewhat easily, having enough coin to buy needed supplies, and venturing into town every now and then to catch a shower and a comfortable bed. It had been too long, though, since that now and then. A group of bandits had stolen the horse she had, the tent and supplies, the very hope she had for surviving this lonely life of hers. Luckily the thieves weren't able to steal the coin, bow, arrows, and quiver she had on her. Hope still seemed near.

She would have to make a trip into town soon. Until then, she had to face the harshness of the winter cold and hunt for whatever food she could find on the way there. Food. That is what she needed now. That is why she hid herself in this bush, watching this deer, waiting for the right moment to strike.

Just as the huntress readied the arrow, tightened her grip on the bow, and pulled the string, hooves of a nearby horse could be heard. The deer she had her aim on, lifted its head searching for any nearby threat. Emily's heart began to race. Hunger rumbled in her belly too much this time for her to miss her next meal. In utter desperation, she quickly let go of the string, sending the arrow through the air.

The deer jumped just in time, but not so swiftly so to dodge the arrow completely. The arrow lands deeply into its left thigh, slowing its gallop immensely. Emily doesn't have time to rejoice as her body lunges forward. Legs carry her quickly as she heads toward the deer. With dagger in hand, the huntress jumps into the air and lands directly upon the deer. Quickly slicing its throat, she lets the body fall to the ground.

Panting, Emily stands there with one leg on each side of the deer. Eyes slowly rise from the body to survey the area around her. Not too far off, she spots a small man near a horse and dog. A brow raises as she watches the animals drink from the pond. Feeling slightly threatened by their presence, Emily slumps down, kneeling over the body before beginning to cut into the deer.

"Hurry up!" Where exactly are those two animals putting all that water in? It better not get them sick for the rest of the day since they still had much travelling to do, worse still they better not get any weird Priskil magic in them because Bob knew he was going to be stuck with these animals for quite some time. "Alright that's enough..." he yelled out as he grabbed Jinsen's leash to pull it away from the water "...for the both of you" which also meant Bobo when Bob grabbed on its reins to do the same. However while he was handling the horse, the dog caught a very familiar scent from the infamous city where it was from. A scent which experience and its master taught it was bad because Bob always did his best to avoid it. "What's that Jinsen? There is nothing good around this sort of place" he told the dog as it started to more towards the source.

And then his jokes was confirmed as the truth when it started to bare its teeth and growl. "Oh, this is not good..." he told himself directing the horse the other way so that he can make an escape. Now all that was left is "Jinsen..." but the smell of blood got it so excited that the whisper never got to its ears no matter how many times Bob told it that "its time to go." Before he could even reach for it to pull it back again, Jinsen was off running while barking wildly towards the hunter and her fallen prey. Well that dog was free anyway and has been nothing but trouble. If Bob could put it in a way it was even using up more mizas than it returns. Maybe he should just leave it to whatever it was over there and give him more chances to put a good distance away from it. He could always put it in as a good investment towards his life.

However for the sake of the fun times in the future, it would be more convenient to say that regardless of his opinion Jinsen grew on Bob just like the dog his uncle used to keep back when he was in Zeltiva. He found himself running towards the suddenly quiet animal as he clutched on his weapon fearing for the worst only to find that it was biting into the deer with a woman nearby. Instead of danger, Bob "should've known it was foo..." no, an enemy? He could see the dagger she was holding on and the quiver at her back. It was too early to tell and Bob did not want to get into a fight just yet. Not unless the rest of his party was around him and because of that he asked "cold weather we're having?" of all the other smart things he could have asked about.

Still wary especially since he could still see the weapons, Bob went to make a grab at Jinsen to pull it away from the deer which he was "sorry" not that the dog has had a go at it but because he did not get to eat it himself. Travelling only had him eating dried meat or whatever everyone else could scrounge up in the wilderness and maybe if the deer was cooked even by him it would make a good meal? His stomach sure thought so as well since as soon as he thought it it gave up a great rumble. Feigning ignorance, he acted surprise and exclaimed "is there an enemy nearby?!"
