Disfigured by face and hidden behind armour and cloth, Solland is well built and muscled man in his mid thirties, not many people have seen the face that had been warped and twisted by fire. Wearing a metal mask at all times, Solland seeks refuge behind his mask, not to hide his face from the world, but from him self.
His face had been twisted into disfigurement by fire along his hair, skin, lips and nose that have also been seared and melted beyond comprehension due to the intense heat of the fire. Scarred for life, the only part of himself that he reveals is his bright blue eyes that shine through his mask with intense hatred and anger.
Along with his prized mask, Solland wears a set of armour that has a ridged design. The armour is comprised off, ridged metal gauntlets and rerebracers that cover his hands and arms, these are used mainly for protection aswell as an intimidation influence. Solland also wears, ridged metal boots, having the same ridged design as the gauntlets, these boots come high up to the knee and are for mainly for protection however, like the gauntlets they can intimidate too. Solland's set of greaves are attached to the boots and cover his thighs, they have a ridged design also, however they are not as pronounced like the boots or gauntlets. The largest piece of his armour is a metal breastplate that covers his entire chest and stomach, however this part of the set is flat and non-ridged, it is shaped to Solland's chest for a close fit.
Although, Solland has armour that can intimidate, the large majority is covered by a large plain cloak and surcoat that is dark green in colour, these parts of cloth are meant to conceal as much as Solland without hampering his movements, be it battle or a simple walk. The cloak covers all of Solland's head, leaving just his mask on show, the cloak is then wrapped around his shoulders, draping down over his arms, stopping just before his ankles. The surcoat covers his chest and upper part of him arms and dangles to a stop before his knees.
The only things that are not covered by the parts of green cloth are his gauntlets, mask and boots. He is concealed.. |
Solland is an dark person fuelled by vengeance and hatred, but he's not always been like this. He was respected to a certain extent but through a flaw in his own character, is reason how he became what he is today, he is a perfectionist. A perfectionist striving to have the greatest physical form aswell as mental but now because his face is misshapen and twisted, Solland's vengeance against those who warped his face, grew into a vengeance against the world and its ridiculing people. Solland constantly struggles to find a way to fix his horribly scarred face.
Being a perfectionist, He strived to out do everyone, Solland soon developed a sense of arrogance, this arrogance and his ultimate desire to achieve perfection became his downfall as he began to attract unwanted attention from the less lawful of sorts.
Although disfigured Solland still portrays some of his perfectionist traits that goes hand in hand with his dormant arrogance. He considers himself very skilled with a blade and practised swordsman and would never back down a challenge when the opportunity is presented.
Although his perfectionist traits can lead to question the state of his mental health and thought process, it does have a positive side. Solland takes very good care of his body, not over eating and regularly working and building his body into a perfect form.
Although Solland's actions that would define him as evil or malicious, he does have some values that set him above the common murderer or thug. He does have a code of honour, having respect for courage and the unbreakable, especially when these traits are applied to combat.

Born in the port city of Zeltiva, Solland was the first-born of an accomplished blacksmith and a Shopkeeper, Rasper and Alia Volk. Solland was quite distant towards his parents and even an early age, he never interacted with his father or learnt his trade of blacksmithing. The same attitude was projected towards his mother. Solland was more interested in weapons, training his body and over all trying his best to be the best. Trying his utmost effort to engage with his son, Rasper forged practise swords and taught his son the art of sword fighting, each session, Rasper egged on Solland to try his hardest, this however had a different affect than originally planned, instead of engaging and bonding with his son, Rasper actually created a sense of confidence and arrogance in his boy and it wasn't long before Solland started to grow up and beat his father in the sword that they commonly practised.
As a teen, Solland always strived to impress everyone and be better than everyone else. He soon developed in to a very handsome young man, his did nothing but encourage his perfectionist traits along with his arrogance. Striving to prove he was the best, Solland began to challenge other boys his age to sparring and swordplay. Victory after victory came by defeating his opponents. Harder and harder Solland fought with each fight, until it became obvious that Solland was genuinely in it to break bones and damage flesh. Soon enough, his good looks started to attract the attention of the opposite sex, everything seemed to be perfect for Solland, he was skilled at the arts of the sword and fighting, he was strong, he was very handsome and had the beauties of Zeltiva grovelling at his feet. However every single thing changed when Solland reached the age of twenty one.
On a normal day, after a few bouts of boys trying there mettle at trying to beat Solland, a slightly older man that called himself Greybor challenged him and raved about how he was far more of a man than Solland ever was and that Solland was a cheat.
Unfazed, Solland accepted. The fight was surprisingly harder and more fast paced than previous encounters, and his challenger was more experienced and tougher than expected.
After a struggle, Solland eventually came out on top, with a strong punch to Greybor's jaw, Solland's adversary crashed to the ground. Every who was present and watching the fight cheered at Solland's victory, however the cheering soon turned to sour ridicule as the crowd began to laugh and joke about the man who foolishly tried to dethrone Solland.
Furious and uncontrollable, Greybor screamed. All amounts of insults and crude speak was hurdled towards Solland. Greybor then finished with that Solland would pay dearly and that his "smug, pretty boy face would be mutilated" . Smiling with arrogance, Solland laughed and ignored Greybor's threats. A mistake that he would regret.
That night, back at his home, in his bed, comforted by the sound of his father still beating on the metal in the forge, Solland fell asleep, However he was soon awakened by the sound of crashing and struggling. Running through to the forge, were the sounds were coming from Solland saw his parents bloody corpses lying still on the ground, standing over them was a drunk Greybor along with two equally as drunk friends of his. Quickly overpowering Solland, the three dragged him up the fire were his dad had forged countless weapons. This was the moment that Solland experienced one of the most painful things in his existence.
Greybor grabbed Solland by the back of the head and pushed his face into the raging fires. The cruel, evil laughs of Greybor and his friends was quickly drilled out by Solland's screams of pain. The intense heat of the forge fires, swiftly warped and twisted his face from a handsome young man into a hideous abomination. The hair from his head and eyebrows had all be seared off and his once smooth skin had been completely changed, his nose had partly melted and his bottom lip had been completely burnt off.
Finally succumbing to the heat, Solland's mind switched off and he went unconscious. Throwing down Solland, Greybor gave a drunken, cruel laugh and quickly exited the building. Miraculously Solland survived the ordeal and awakened in a bed, with his face bandaged. Hearing the soft voice of the healer, Solland made his recovery, thinking only of what had just happened.
After a few months of recovery, it was time to take off the bandage that covered his face. The healer slowly unwrapped the bits of cloth, while speaking in her soft voice, Solland's eye sight had been saved but his face had been changed. Finally with the bandages off, Solland's eyes began to adjust to the light. Looking in a mirror, horror struck Solland, his face had been ravaged by fire and changed him into a monster. Screaming with mixed emotions of rage and disbelief, Solland ran back to his parents house.
Sitting in a corner in his parents old house, Solland began to cry, not because his parents had been slaughtered but because his face had been ruined and his perfection had been shattered. Fashioning himself a makeshift mask, Solland's next years became the hardest. Stares, ridicule and prejudice soon became a part of his life as he was treated like a second class citizen.
Finding what ever job could be done for Solland to eat and survive, he developed a hatred that was encouraged by the ridicule. After years, Solland had saved enough money to buy armour, a blade and a new mask that fitted properly.
Now Solland has set out to find and punish Greybor and his colleges for ruining his life and hopefully find a way to fix his acquired disfigurement.
