Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

[FlashBack]A Passage to Adulthood, Its Your Rite (Solo)

The 27th day of Summer, 509 A.V.

Levakys sat up from his bed as the sun crept in through his window. Though he did not feel tired, he had not rested well through out the evening. This was the morning of his day. This was the day of his birth 30 years prior. Deep inside his conscious Andramyr stirred with anticipation. Though Levakys was excited for this day to finally arrive, it was Andramyr who reveled in the actual act of killing. Levakys was excited to prove his worth and transform from adolescence to adult. The twin souls sought the same end result; it was how they wanted to get there that different.

These two had had their struggle long ago and Levakys had won. Unlike most Akalak youth, these souls met at an extremely young age … infancy. This had not bode well for their mother who was hurt one too many times leaving their father to have to raise them. From this, Levakys learned quickly how his discipline and willpower over matched the instinctive, emotional desires of Andramyr. This did not mean that Andramyr was not allowed out to play. The two learned how to work in unison to achieve their goals. Levakys trained long and hard in the combat arts. Andramyr learned how to take this training and kill with it when necessary.

When they had turned fifteen years of age, it was Andramyr that was released to kill the glassbeaks. Many who sat at the evening feast to honor the youths who passed the Rite of Trial, had expected him to stand up and declare he would train to become a commander in the military. This was the first true sign that Levakys was in control over Andramyr, his life path would be within the priesthood to Wysar.

Now thirty years of age, Levakys sat up in his bed and placed his feet on the floor. He grabbed a band from the bedside table, pulled his hair back, and set it in a ponytail with the band. 'We must work together, Andramyr,' Levakys said to him. 'We were born for this, brother,' was the immediate reply. Levakys rose to his feet and got dressed then went out into the common room.

His father was not home, so he made a plate of meat, bread, and cheeses to eat at the table. Both souls said nothing letting their mind prepare for this moment. He washed it down with some of the non-fermented grape juice then cleaned his dish and cup. All the while he was thinking on how the hunt would go down. Would he have to get it from the sky first, or would he be able to stalk the zith before it ever took to flight?

Levakys wrapped his fingers around the Lakan hilt and placed it comfortably in the palm of his hand. Levamyr had taken him to the smith only days before to have the blade made. This unique weapon had been crafted just to fit him, and it felt as if a part of their souls had been imbued during the creation. They had never used the weapon before this moment and the thought of killing a zith with it for the first time made his heart beat faster. Levakys sheathed the blade and finally left the home. He walked steady and confident through the city until he reached the gates where his father and a few other Akalak stood. He simply nodded in respect to his father as he came to a halt about five feet before him.

Levamyr looked into his son's eyes with honor, “It is time, son ...”
