Name: Davros Velutina Race: Mixed Blood Age: 21 years old Birthday: Season of Winter, Day 29, 492 AV ![]() Character Concept: Mystery, Anonymity, and lack of emotion. These traits plague Davros' personality and are ultimately what his persona is built upon. Since the demise of his father, he makes every precaution to keeping his identity and his whereabouts a complete secret. Very few people know his real name, and after the aforementioned endgame of his father, he stopped using it that night. When asked for a name, he favors Garyn and Jacen most. Davros has a calm personality(though very dark), and often avoids confrontations of any kind that aren't scheduled. His paranoia(yet another product of his father's death)has led him to think that anyone could be an enemy, which from one view is true. He avoids speaking to others and interacting with strangers because things don't go as he plans, but that allows him time to observe. He studies his environment, and most importantly he'd rather watch and listen to other people have conversations rather than engage in any himself. He does, however, speak poetically, and intelligently, often looking down on those whom can't comprehend what hes saying. With his dark tutelage combined with feigned indifference, he is actually quick to judge, gets offended easily and holds grudges, but there emotions hardly ever surface. His dark upbringing has resulted in a very complicated social life for Davros as an adult. To many he seems a cold man, often failing to show any amount of empathy, emotion, or barely any tinge of humanity at all when dealing with the lives of people. Davros is a contemplative person and thinks most things through before acting upon them. He rarely tolerates foolishness(, child-like behavior, up-beat jittery people, etc.) and pays especially close attention to detail. Since his fathers death, Davros doesn't seem to value life either, namely the lives of others. Physical Description and Attire: Davros is short for a male, standing at only 5'5. But for what his stature lacks in strength, it makes up for in flexibility and speed. Each part of his body is toned not for show but for functionality. Davros has some-what pale skin, with green eyes over a small pointed nose and high-yet thin cheek bones. He has a slightly pointed chin under a set of thin lips, and a face void of facial hair. Davros wears black leather clothing with and a coat, which he keeps zipped up. Hidden by his outer coat, Davros has scabbards securely tied to his lower back, diagonally holstering two 16" daggers and his throwing daggers and shurikens are given safe storage amongst his belt. Because of his frequent use of his bow, Davros wears a thin archer's glove on his right hand as a part of his attire. Character History: Davros was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. The luxury his parents attained was built on the foundation of blood, rather than an honest day's work, however. They were both assassins, and it was during the chase of a target when the two first met and interacted with each other. However, death came with the territory, as it does with most professions that work outside of the law and children of the night were no exception. When Davros was 6 years old his mother was killed and his sister, whom he'd just learned existed was captured(whether she escaped or not is unknown(this is an opportunity opening for anyone in the future that may want to role-play a sibling with me)). Davros' mother was discovered during what is now, a failed coup d'etat. After a few days of torture, she was executed in front of a crowd in whatever foreign land she was in. The more intricate details of the story was left out by Davros' father, Markus. He did so to prevent retaliation; he didn't want Davros going on a quest for vengeance later in life. The young boy had no such thoughts though. When his mother died, he felt nothing of it, his father assumed it was his form of grieving, but he was wrong. His parents originally agreed not to expose Davros to their past life, but with the death of his mother, explaining the situation with some extent of the truth only seemed logical to Markus. With his wife dead, Markus decided to apprentice Davros to himself and teach him to ways of the assassin. When Davros turned 10, instead of being given candy and toys, he was instead gifted with a dagger. From that moment forward, Davros' childhood was over. Davros was trained how to be both a warrior and dignitary. There wasn't any royal blood in their family, but Davros' father always felt that he was above those around him. He developed accents and the mannerisms of such, and passed them down to Davros. Davros learned under the harsh tutelage of his father for 12 years. He'd been taught hand-to-hand combat and how to effectively use the wazikashi blade, daggers, and the shortbow. Unfortunately, his father's lack of affinity for poison left Davros dry on that topic so he was left to one day learn that on his own if so wished it. A quote Markus once said to Davros was, "a well placed arrow or stab can and will render any kind of poison useless, regardless of its potency." Davros' father was one day betrayed however, and it changed everything. After assassinating a Priest in a land unbeknownst to Davros, two weeks later a band of warriors were kicking in the door to their safehouse. The secrecy of their location had been revealed by a so-called friend of Markus'. This action would give Davros the mindset that no man could keep a secret to himself, and that only the dead could truly keep a secret. Though the two cutthroats were formidable in their craft, they were not built for outnumbered fights and were quickly over ran by the tank-like warriors bearing their shields and swords. Markus sacrificed himself to save his son, much to Davros' dismay and drew the attention of the fight to himself before falling under the swings and slashes of their weapons. That moment haunts him, even to this day and plays a large role in his obsession with anonymity, mystery, and never leaving a footprint to be later tracked by his enemies or the exploratory. Fighting Style: Reverse Grip Wazikashi Combat- offers a range of wide, long swings. The blade itself is chosen for its swiftness. Wazikashi's are fine blades, though shorter and less valued than a katana. Katana's were long however, and easily noticeable. What wazikashi's lacked in length, it made up for in speed and convenience. Davros mainly uses this blade in assassinations, but it is also his weapon of choice in duels. The grip offers formidable defense, having the capability of protecting Davros' entire right forearm and in return offers slashing attacks mainly aimed at the neck and torso. Out of melee range, Davros prefers to use his bow, or if he so chooses he sometimes uses throwing weapons such as shurikens and daggers. Heirloom: Shortbow - Markus didn't tell Davros what exactly the bow was made of, but wherever the wood has its origins Davros is thankful of them. Gifted to Davros on Markus' deathbed, this shortbow seems to never lose its draw strength(this is actually accredited to how often Davros replaces the drawstring). Religion Davros worships no Deity at the moment, though he will not bow down to any being beneath the status of a God. ![]() Possessions
