Fades Reflection Born on the 5th day of Fall, 492AV 20 years old Svefra female Physical Description Long brown hair and glacier blue eyes, Fades eyes can appear cold at times but that’s just her protecting her easily hurt feelings. She has a strong muscular body with a deep rich tan on every inch of her body. Most clothing, or lack thereof, simply acts to show off her curves and grace. She usually wears simple and practical articles of clothing such as a loose light green shirt and dark colored shorts. This type of wardrobe allows for her to move quickly and easily about her ship or the ship of her Lia. One elaborate braid adorns her long sun-ray brown hair. It is made up of stormy blue threads, light green beads, and a singular foot long brown feather that was a gift from her Tavan. Her hair falls to her waist and is actually longer in the front than in the back due to her Lia’s misguided use of scissors, not that Fades would ever say so. She has come to like the look on herself. On the back of her right shoulder is a simple tattoo of a small hummingbird sipping nectar from a blooming lily. This is the only tattoo she has so far but wants to accumulate more as she grows older. She wears a seaweed anklet of sun-bleached green around her left ankle. On it are many small shells or other gifts from the ocean. Personality Fades is smart and cunning but sometimes assumes too much and makes rash, too quick decisions to the irritation of her Lia. Cautious of others not like her, she is sometimes hesitant but usually asks questions if she has any. Fades is a very curious individual but hates trusting others and only really does it when she has no other options. She loves the water but also likes to see the cities. Often times she expends the energy to get to a city only to stay a few days due to her longing for the sea again. She hates it when others injure or kill animals or other humans for no reason. If an animal must be killed, it should be for food. Her favorite food is fish, which is probably good seeing as she lives on the sea. She believes in treating others fair but won’t hesitate to beat up someone who she thinks needs an attitude adjustment. History Fades was initially thought to be a boy before she was born. Her father named her but died before she was born but her mother kept the name he had picked. Her father choose the name for the beautiful way the sky and water fade into each other as night falls across the Suvan. She met Harlan as a girl while her Lia’s ship was docked one day in the harbor. Harlan was somewhat young on their first meeting and was trying to catch the eyes of a few pretty lady herons. He was having some luck until his bad foot got hung up between the boards of dock and he couldn’t get free. It was Fades who rushed to his aid and untangled him setting him free. From then on, Harlan stayed with Fades watching over her. He gave her one of his longest feathers as a gift for her hair.

Tavan Fades’s Tavan is a sea heron named Harlan. He is her constant yet quiet support and always watches over her. He has once saved her life by swooping down and killing a large sea snake as it tried to strike Fades. Harlan has lots of beautiful feathers ranging from white to brown and all shades in between. He is smart and a good flyer, often managing to fly above Fades ship for long periods of time, but prefers to be resting on the ship with her nearby. His favorite food is frogs but seeing as the Suvan Sea is salt water, frogs are rare so he makes due with fish and shrimp or the occasional cooked morsel Fades is willing to share. Harlans greatest strength is that he is patient and loves Fades. His possible weakness is he is missing a toe on one foot due to an attack on him from a giant lizard as a baby bird. This makes his walk weak and funny looking at times. However, Fades can always tell which footprints are Harlan’s in the sand. Heirloom Fades heirloom is the long brown feather given to her by Harlan. She wears it in her hair as a token of their friendship.
