AppearanceAdrasto stands 5’7” and weighs around 160lbs; a product of a tall slender woman and a thick stocky male, pulled between the two contraries Adrasto is both muscular and lean. Fair skinned from years in the sun it is only when the light reflects on him in darkness can you see the glint of blue in his skin. His Isur blood flashes on his flesh with veins of silver and a red armband on his left arm, honoring lineage to the noble Sultros clan of the Isur. He keeps his black hair neat at nearly skin level and his eyes are a bright hazel during the day and show a glimpse of green during the night but, like all Vantha, reflect his moods at times; calm spirited, Adrasto’s eyes explode with color when his cool is broken.
Character ConceptA hot shot with quick moves and a step of finesse, Adrasto is a wise-cracking, slick-conniver who would do a whole lot to get a one up in life. He's a hot head with a thick skull and has a lot of passion for life, Adrasto grows more curious by the day of the world and its commodities. He knows no relatives, and has grown very reserved but stayed warm in his heart for the world he lives in kicks the weak instead of raising them to their feet. Known to twist the tongue in more ways than one, trouble finds its way to Adrasto, often butting heads with the self righteous who feel better than himself. Women will find their way to Adrasto, and the youngun is not generally friendly with his loves men. Un-daunting and ready to explore, Adrasto is anxious for the world to see him as more than just a mixed blood.
Adrasto fights with a sword made of iron which, unbeknownst to him, was crafted by his father and used to by his mother to take the mans life. His combat style maximizes on a free hand and mobility using grace to put his opponent out on a limb.
Adrasto also pays respect to the Blood God Viratas. He favors the God's view on the realm, believing all people of equal birth and the never changing worth of blood. Whether it be blood in the name of sacrifice or lust, if it is spilt there will be reasoning and amendment for the action. His loss of family also leaves him hoping Viratas can guide him to some kind of companionship, through blood or the mixing of it.
Character History Aella, Adrasto’s mother, is a woman of untold beauty and, some believe, unbearable promiscuity. Aella was a once traveling warrior-woman, who retired from adventuring at the cost of her body. Far from the frigid north she took up with a band of traveling whores who went from city to city collecting pay and wrecking homes. Adrasto’s father was a man named Herakles, one of the strongest of the Isur in his prime; he later retired from battle and enjoyed life as one of the Sultros’ most famed smiths. Herakles was a known womanizer and would often cheat on his partner; the first time he set eyes on Aella he already had intentions. They loved for a period and when it came time for Aella to leave Herakles asked her to stay; he than purchased her a house and promised to take to her needs as well. The two began to fall for each other quickly and would occasionally be spotted in town together. When Aella fell pregnant with Adrasto Herakles, outraged by his oversight, ordered the woman to never leave the house he purchased her. Realizing that although his love had been hidden from the public eye, the news of the child could not be hidden forever. Lost between his love and his life, Herakles sought help from a Philterist, who crafted a poison to end the child’s life with no consequence to the mother. Herakles went to the house where Aella stayed with a bottle of fresh wine, the poison, and waited anxiously while she prepared the two of them a meal. Aella, once an adventurer of some renown, tasted the poison with the first from her wine. It was, in that same very instant, that Herakles’ blade was drawn from its scabbard, not by a warrior, but a mother. With fine steel still in his chest, Herakles emptied his pockets of money and motioned Aella to leave; she would never be welcome in the land of the Isur again.
Aella left the city of Sultros with its men at her back, following a long road southeast. She posted in the city of Aladas to rest and with a little help from the city of illusion, Aella was able to evade those who shadowed her. It was here where Adrasto was born, and realizing that she could not evade the Isur in their country forever, she left by boat for Riverfall.
It was in Riverfall that the Akalak’s who hoped to indulge in the woman met Aella with open arms. Although she never committed to a male, Aella entertained many as a musician and storyteller within the city. Living a comfortable and seemingly care free life, Aella made a good mother, and prepared her son for the world she faced, and the world Adrasto would come to know. Knowing the value of help in such a hospitable world, Aella gave Adrasto lessons in friends and kinship, was always followed by a talk of self-reliance. Encouraged by his mother at home, Adrasto made friends with the Akalak boys and would often join the other children in their competitions of strength and athletics. Usually bested, Adrasto remained unyielding and eventually proved a match for his supposed physical superiors. He never attended school, but was caught often with a book, and although he would never be a scholar, Adrasto thought it necessary to have knowledge of the world. Adrasto became jealous as he saw the Akalak boys go through their rite of trial and, to make up for it, Aella gave him what used to be his fathers sword at fifteen and bound him to it. Once a warrior herself, Aella was quite the teacher and passed to her son all her knowledge of battle.
When he was sixteen, after Adrasto had learned all his mother’s tricks, Aella decided to leave unexpectedly, she left to him the house where they stayed and much of their belongings, but no reasoning as to why she fled. Left alone, Adrasto up until now has made a life as a blacksmith’s assistant and part time thief; he occasionally wanders the fringes of the city and spends his excess money at the local bars. Young and eager for the world, Adrasto has high hopes for his own future.
