Wind Reach CS Template Physical Description Name: Aeliris Race: Half-Breed Inarta/Human Age: 16 Height: 5’2” Weight: 100lbs Hair Colour: Black Eye Colour: Green Birthday:4th summer 497AV Character Concept Aeliris can at times seem somewhat disconnected from the concerns of others, this is in part due to her early training, and in part because of the fact that she has to prioritise herself now, for no one else will. Though somewhat aloof in thought, when dealing with others, she does whatever she can to please her betters, lest she draw the ire of the city’s customs, she will dislike it, but will attempt not to let that show. She has begun to accept her position in society, knowing that her only likely valuable skill also has the potential to earn her a much harsher sentence than even her caste is forced to live with. As such, she does not complain, though she frequently thinks about how she might leave Wind Reach, though every time she is quickly confronted with the reality that she does not have the resources necessary to survive the trip to anywhere, even if she did somehow manage to find the way on her own. Despite that, she has not completely given up, and collects whatever even slightly useful goods she can, working to scrounge resources whenever possible. Aeliris’ animation magic, though relatively advanced, is unfortunately also a mark of shame to her. Her father taught her using the souls of birds due to their easy availability compared to those of other animals, and as such, she has already violated one of the primary laws of her people many times over. While she does practice it whenever she can be alone in order to avoid forgetting, she attempts to keep its existence secret, lest questions that she does not want to answer be asked, and she find her life condemned. Character History Aeliris’ birth was planned as part of a scheme by an extremely reckless, perhaps maniacal animator in an attempt to bestow a kind of immortality via spiritual possession. Having been banished from his home country, he had moved into Windreach, integrating himself through a woman he truly came to love. Though he seemed content with his life, his capacity for pushing boundries hatched a plan. He would have a child, and at the moment of their birth, he would attempt to transfer his mate’s consciousness into the newborn babe, effectively extending her life. As it turned out, the process was a complete failure, his mate perished soon after Aeliris’ birth, and the child didn’t appear to exibit anything out of the ordinary. Though this would have been clear enough to an informed third party, he was bullheaded and claimed to himself that her memories were merely flawed. He raised the child as he would any other. Eventually, even he was forced to admit that he had failed, and the woman he loved was dead as a result. He looked on Aeliris with disguist and in effect disowned her, sending her to a communal upbringing, destroying one of her eyes in misplaced spite and hatred. Though her childhood after that was decent, enough, her maimed eye shattered her depth perception, closing off several avenues of life to her. That, combined with distinctly non-purebred Inartian hair secured her into the life of a dek when she was unable to show any skills truly useful to society. As of this point, she has spent her first year running herself ragged, and learning to quell her pointless rage at the injustice to which she had been subjected.
