Located just outside of the gathering area for merchant caravans near the Southern Trading Post is a small, somewhat ran-down looking shack. Rickety wood planks come together with rusty wooden nails topped with a mix-matched yet sound looking roof to form what is popularly known among traveling merchants as, Malfasar's Beer Hut or simply, The Beer Hut. A few years ago, a comparatively small yet crafty merchant by the name of Malfasar, came to Ravok seeking to peddle his wares. Because of his lack of influence and wealth, Malfasar found himself waiting at the Trading Post for a couple of weeks before being cleared for entry into the city. Unfortunately by that time his goods had long since spoiled. The only thing he had left were a few barrels of ale and a couple haggard wagons. The whole experience left him poor and disenchanted but only for a short time. Malfasar took his wagons and built a structure, while looking rather homely, was quite functional. He then gathered his remaining barrels of ale and decided to open up shop as a cross-roads tavern. Now, a few years later, Malfasar's Beer Hut has become one of the more well-known rural taverns in the region. While still small, The Beer Hut is a gathering place for merchants and common folk alike who find themselves waiting for clearance to enter Ravok. A small stone fireplace sits in one corner of the common chamber which is filled with roughly half-a-dozen tables. A small bar runs the length of one wall with the only other room in the building being a small storage space behind the bar. There are a couple of small tables and a simple wooden bench located outside as well. While being a gathering place for legitimate businessmen, The Beer Hut is also known as a meeting point for more unsavory individuals. Though monitored and frequented by guards stationed at the Trading Post, Malfasar has, either through bribery, influence, or a little of both, gained a bit of freedom from the guards and thus they usually allow quite a bit to go on at the Hut without interference. The only thing Malfasar serves at the Hut is ale and tobacco, both of which he is never in short supply of. Patrons to the Hut can expect to be waited on by the grizzled old man behind the bar, Malfasar, or Sandra, a moderately attractive, young, blond-haired girl who has also become something of a fixture at the Hut as its barmaid.
