History
Born to parents who are both walking personifications of a city known for it's exquisite beauty and feared for it's darker, unseen deadly side, Raenfae lived a comfortable life growing up. He did not want for much in life as a child, having everything provided one way or another. His family, by no means the richest or most renowned, had enough skills and money to provide and prepare their son for the elegant Dance of Life in Ravok.
His father, a man by the name of Vlos, was a loyal servant to Rhysol and a dedicated member of the Ebonstryfe, he worked to teach his son about Rhysol and the importance of the religion in relation to life in Ravok, stressing the importance of keeping the god of chaos in his daily life through prayer at sunset. At the age of ten Raenfae was trained how to properly hold a dagger and the minimal ways to use it, so he would at least have some sort of way to fight as well as administer the poisons which he mother was training him in.
His mother, a woman of dark hair and lovely pale skin who was called Sylina, was much more influential in his life. While not a member of the Black Sun or Ebonstryfe like her husband, she was dedicated to Rhysol and understood what life was about and sought to teach Raenfae the same. At the age of six years, Raenfae approached his mother as she was working with some poison ingredients and watched, the art of picking materials, grinding and heating, of mixing things attracting his interest. Noting this interest and seeing the avenue opening for his life, Sylina began training him in the equipment and ingredients, slowing giving him more training over the years. At the age of twelve, she focused his training into aquatic plants for poison making, letting him use her equipment as he needed.
As he reached the age of ten, another training began in addition to his dagger training and what he was already learning in poisons, and that was skills of seduction, and by association, persuasion. While his father was quicker to use a blade than try to dance with his words, his mother was skilled in these arts as her means to advance herself and her husband. Being a young age, his education in persuasion and the power of words started first, his mother often telling him to try different things on other kids to see if he had grasped the basic concepts to convincing people to do what you want.
As he grew to the age of fifteen, then sixteen, his mother began emphasizing seduction, teaching him about the ability to use persuasion with it to lure women into his bed and to guide them to do his bidding. All of this training was spoken, telling him what secrets would help to lure a woman in, letting him practice these skills on his own to find out what worked best for him. Also at the age of sixteen, his training in poisons became more intense, his mother making him go out for hours on end to find the materials he needed to make his poisons, emphasizing the importance of not buying him if he could.
When he was 23, he met his lover Amani, a woman who was unlike any other he had come across and one that enraptured him and one that he felt drawn to. With this, he knew it was time to leave his parents' home, knowing it was time to leave as it was no longer any use to him to stay there. During his last few months with his family, his mother gave him one last gift, a tangible item he could take with him. It was a concealing ring set with a beautiful deep red garnet on a silver band. She told him it was his grandfathers who was a poisoncrafter before her, that this was his gift to her when she left as it is her gift to him. It fit perfectly onto his left ring finger where it sits, always there for his use. |
