Who: Marcus Braeden

Marcus and his Patron were returning from a hike to the Base Camp from The Spires proper. Xalet had left earlier in the season chasing some glory, leaving the Knight and Squire here. They had been making the two bell hike to the camp, and the two bell hike back every day, checking to see if the purple one had returned. They were beginning to think about returning home and report Xalet as missing in the field. It worried Marcus, they had come so far, helped free the city, and then would return with a man down.

Ser Noah was scanning the area, for there were still wild beasts roaming the forest. Everything seemed calm, it was quiet, but the chirping of birds showed that nothing was out of place. The pair began climbing a small, rocky rise, shale and rocks kicking and sliding all over the place. When they finally reached the top, a misplaced step from the squire caused a small rock to kick outward. It flew out and over the opposite downhill slope from where they stood, and tumbled toward several, large, white, unmoving shapes. A lucky bounce, an awkward skip, and the rock struck a shiny orb in the shape. The shape shook and roared in pain.

There were about twenty of the furry white shapes, and after the first roared, they all began to stand up and roar. Marcus could now see the massive horn on the front of them, and guessed them to even be larger than a horse. The injured one began running in the direction he'd been laying, the others following suit. Unfortunately for the two Sylirans, that was straight uphill at them. These were Olidosapux, and they were stampeding.

The two Sylirans tracked the stone as it made its fateful plunge towards the white mass that occupied the field at the bottom of the hill. As soon as the rock had finally stopped, the horn was revealed, and the roar was heard, both of the men's eyes suddenly widened. Their hearts began to beat faster and their blood pressure suddenly spiked. Marcus had just gone off and pissed off a seemingly peaceful heard of Olidosapux, and they were charging up the hill straight for the pair of Sylirans. The only silver lining seemed to be that that the heard needed to charge uphill to reach them, giving Marcus and Ser Noah more time to react accordingly.

"Dammit Braeden, now look at what you have done. You've gone and pissed nature off!" Ser Noah yelled at Marcus in his usual sarcastic fashion. "Son of a bitch!" were the only words Marcus could muster, as he looked onward at the white mass rapidly closing in on them. Marcus and Ser Noah began scanning surroundings, looking for an exit plan. Perhaps they could run? No, they were adorned in full plate as per usual, but they would easily get caught regardless of what they were wearing. Maybe the answer was to go up, as there was a tree next to the two. But once again, there armor would prevent them from being able to actually lift themselves up. If not up or back, then the answer was to go off to the sides. On their right was a rocky slope, that could most likely be descended easily enough. "There!" Marcus pointed at the slope. Noah nodded, "Alright, go now!" he said as he gave Marcus a slight push, sending the squire down the mountain sliding using a combination of his ass and feet to slide down the side. Noah followed suit sliding down the slop just behind Marcus.

Once both Sylirans were settled at the bottom of the hill, they turned their heads, peering back up the hill they had just descended.
