[The Cerulean Pier] A Dandelion in the Wind (Canrehne)

Marcus returned her smile as she went on about her profession. There was pride in her words, and it was a refreshing sight to witness, as opposed to the usual secrecy and hesitance. She obviously enjoyed the rarity of her work as a Legate, and perhaps that itself was the main appeal of her. Marcus could not say, but still he smiled with her as she continued, eagerly proclaiming her purpose in life and the way she achieved it. Her confidence was booming, and Marcus thought he had her personality pretty much established in his mind, but as she sat down, the young student was reminded of one crucial fact of life.

People are rarely fully understood.

Marcus had made one mistake in his judgement of her, which was made clear after her remark about reimancy, one of which Marcus had heard plenty of times. Canrehne was confident about her work, but to the point of arrogance. Marcus even contemplated if she perhaps had a superiority complex of sorts. All of this happened behind the scenes as Marcus smiled down to her, deciding to lean his back against the pier railing. He smirked as he gazed up at the sky, announcing his rebuttal to no one in particular, and hopefully a god or two was listening in. "The best part of reimancy is it's unpredictability; having people assume they know all my tricks is a blessing in disguise, and one I'd welcome in a fight. Underestimating an opponent is possibly the best advantage one could give. So in that sense, reimancy's common use can be quite useful." Being quite happy with his argument, he relaxed a bit, taking in the smell of the ocean and letting it fill his lungs. This woman was quite a curiosity...

With that thought, Marcus smirked down to her exotic form seated quaintly on the pier, and finished his speech on a characteristically cheery note. "After all, Magic is a means for us to emulate power beyond our own. Confining that to only specific routines and techniques is a grand mistake."
