With their city built into the side of a cliff it was only inevitable that eventually the Riverians would decide to climb it, and eventually they did. After a while enough people started climbing that one enterprising young Akalak decided to make a business of it. Thus Riverfall Rock Climbing was born, built into the base of the cliffs not far from where the Bluevein river plummets into the Suvan Sea. Run by an Akalak named Riharo and his kelvic Rynn, Riverfall Rock Climbing is open year round from sunrise to sunset, so long as the weather permits. Riharo gives lessons in rock climbing, as well as guided climbs, while Rynn takes care of the shop itself which sells all the gear one could possibly need to scale the cliffs. Rynn also advises potential climbers which route would be best for them, based on how physically fit they are, as well as their actual experience in climbing. There are many climbs available, from novice to expert, though all of them are full of breathtaking views of the bay from above.   Riharo and Suliss Name: Riharo/Suliss Race: Akalak DoB: 500 AV (112 YO) PoB: Riverfall Title: Owner Skills: Climbing 70, Body Building 35, Teaching 30, Hunting 45 Gnosis: None Riharo spent his entire life in Riverfall, and was always a fan of the beauty of the cliffs that made up his home. He spent his early years scaling the smallest of them, and discovered he was good at it. One day he decided to make a business of it. Riharo is a friendly, energetic man who loves physical sport whether it be climbing, or some other form of physical activity. When his shop closes due to weather, he can usually be found training with his lakan or doing some other sort of physical activity. Biography Riharo was born in the year 382 AV to an Akalak father and a Konti mother. He has one other sibling, and he himself sired a child in the year 440 AV. Unfortunately, he lost his son to the Sea of Grass during his coming of age ceremony and has yet to sire another, though not for lack of trying. He has lost two children to childbirth since his son died, and sometimes he thinks he just wasn't meant to have any children. Riharo was a hunter before he opened his business, though he always enjoyed rock climbing. He hunted the grasslands for many years before finally settling down, growing tired of the boring plains, and wanting to explore other things. He opened Riverfall Rock Climbing in the year 477 AV, and ran it by himself until he met Rynn, a kelvic who after several attempts finally conceived a child. Unfortunately, yet again, the child was lost, but Riharo had taken a liking to Rynn, and continued to try. Just after the Djed Storm of 512, she became pregnant once more. Rynn moved in with him immediately, and has helped him run his business ever since. Personality Riharo is friendly and energetic, always willing to lend a helping hand. He is certainly more dominant than his dark soul Suliss, which is fortunate for any students he takes on, because Suliss is a prankster. While he rarely goes so far as to put someone in a situation that could prove lethal, there have been a few accidents in which someone was injured while climbing due to his darker soul. Both souls are romantics, and both are in love with Rynn, which sometimes fosters competition between the two sides. Riharo being the stronger of the two usually wins out, however.   Rynn Name: Rynn Race: Kelvic Crimson Jay DoB: 500 AV PoB: Riverfall Title: Bondmate to Riharo Skills: Climbing 30, Hunting 10, Singing 35, Storytelling 20 Gnosis: None Happy-go-lucky and always flitting about the shop, Rynn is the Nakivak to Riharo, and has been with him since early in the year 511 AV. Rynn is a kelvic, her true form being that of a Crimson Jay, and when she's not flying around the cliffs of Riverfall with Riharo, she can be found tending the store selling climbing gear and giving advice to potential customers. Biography Rynn was born in the year 510 AV to two kelvic parents living in the Sea of Grass just ouside Riverfall. She grew quickly and left her family, intrigued by the handsome blue men of the city, and it wasn't long before she agreed to be a Nakivak. Riharo was one of the first men to come see her, and after several tries, she finally conceived his child. Unfortunately fate did not smile on them, and the child was lost mid-term, but Riharo did not give up, and soon another child was conceived. Rynn moved in with Riharo shortly after, and began helping run his business. She has hopes that Riharo will marry her, allowing her to stay with him forever. Personality Rynn is energetic and all over the place, loves to sing, and is always moving. When she has no customers to tend to, she flits about the shop straightening and cleaning things that probably don't need to be straightened or cleaned. She has a short attention span, but despite her flighty demeanor, one may find that she knows a great deal about the cliffs her customers hope to climb. If one can hold her attention long enough, they will find her to be of great use in preparing for their climb.   The Shop The Shop Climber's Kit Special pitons, boot tips, gloves and a harness that aids in all sorts of climbing. 80gm Advanced Climber's Kit Same as regular climbers kit but may endure greater amounts of use in more extreme circumstances. 400gm Climbing Claws Used for climbing and scaling trees, climbing claws are worn on the hands and feet. Comprised of leather straps with attached hooks, the claws aid climbing on most surfaces. 8gm Hemp Rope Sold in increments of 50 feet 1gm Silk Rope Sold in increments of 50 feet 10gm Sighting Lens This is actually two or more lenses held fast within a leather sheath. By looking through the sighting glass, distant objects are greatly magnified and brought into focus. One using a sighting glass doubles his spotting distances over clear terrain. 55gm   Services Services Novice Climb A short guided climb, lasting only one to two bells at most, this climb ends at the top of a small cliff with a wonderful view of the bay. 10gm Experienced Climb This climb, which can take nearly half the day, must be scheduled in advance. Climbers must be in good physical condition with at least some experience. Climb ends nearly half way to the top, next to a small pool that drains off the falls. 25gm Expert Climb This climb, which takes the entire day, must be scheduled in advance. Climbers must be in good physical condition with a lot of experience under their belts.
