[Riverfall Location] The Azurite Watchtower

Riverfall's local Watchtower seems to have a mind of its own.

Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

[Riverfall Location] The Azurite Watchtower

Located within the actual city walls of Riverfall, The Azurite Watchtower was probably one of the reasons the Founding Chivan Family chose the site of the Bluevein's exit to the Suvan as their home. Rising as a somewhat plain structure, the tower is a singular column in good repair with a hollowed out quatrapoint fixation at the top housing a still intact Watchstone. Azurite covers the outside of the tower, though in places its heavily flaked off revealing the brickwork below. The gate structure, common to all Watchtowers, is separate on the Azurite Tower, wherein it is normally attached on other Towers.

The Azurite Watchtower, like all Watchtowers throughout Mizahar, still is operationally functional. However, like the whole of the Watchtower system, it is broken from within. Anyone with the knowledge to use the Watchtower can activate it, but there's no way they can guarantee the users to get where they aimed to go or let alone survive the trip. The watchtower will activate all on its own too, triggered from a far off destination. People will even travel through it, often finding themselves in Riverfall when they meant to be somewhere else. Other times creatures will come through that have never been seen before or are recognizable as exotic from elsewhere far distant. Occasionally visitors to Riverfall arrive through the watchtower dead or worse - wishing they were - before being collected by Dira.

During the Djed Storm of Spring 512, the Watchtower was activated the whole time and seemingly pulling energy from the surrounding storm. This might have been one of the reasons Riverfall did not sustain as much damage as it could have.

Ivory
Image
Name: Ivory Snowsong
Race: Vantha
DoB: 479 AV (33)
PoB: Avanthal
Title: Watchtower Guardian or "The Guardian"
Skills: Storytelling 72, Carving 54, Singing 34, Reimancy 35 (Air, Earth)
Gnosis: Priskil 3 - Priestess

Ivory appeared, one lonely winter day, out of the brilliant light of the watchtower when it activated all on its own. At fourteen, the strange Vantha girl was considered a curiosity to the local Akalaks but no one really did or said anything negatively when she proceeded to move into the ruin of the tower and fix it up. One thing was for certain, Albino and Priestess of Priskil, Ivory Snowsong bothers no one and no one bothers her. Occasionally she takes visitors and serves them tea, but otherwise it is just her and a kelvic companion that occupy the Tower.

Occasionally she can be talked into activating the Tower, but she does not guarantee safe passage in any way shape or form.

Kimbri
Image
Name: Kimbri
Race: Kelvic Cheetah
DoB: 509 AV (3)
PoB: Riverfall
Title: Watchtower Guardian's Guardian, Ivory's Bondmate
Skills: Hunting 70, Unarmed Combat 50, Drumming 22
Gnosis: Priskil 1

Kimbri was bought in the market by Ivory when she was just a kitten. She was too small to be favorable for what the Akalak normally use female kelvics for, so Ivory took Kimbri on as her own and when the Cheetah was two, the pair bonded. They've been together ever since.

Using the Watchtower
The Azurite Watchtower is temperamental and seems to randomly turn on and off for sometimes days on end. This is in spite of anyone being around. And though the Watchtower has a guardian, sometimes the guardian doesn't even know where the tower is directing its energy. It is very possible anything entering would simply be 'voided'.

If the Watchtower activates itself then PC's are free to step through. They have no control over where it will take them and what it will do to them. I would caution, as a moderator, to only use the tower in cases of extreme emergency.

If the Azurite Tower is used, contact a moderator for intervention in any and all threads where its use is involved.
