[Flashback] Written Intentions

53rd Fall 510AV
It was a windy day in Zeltiva, fallen leaves danced through the air whipped up by small gusts. The wind brought with it a cold atmosphere and many remained in their homes.
Among these many was Sheva, she had wanted to spend her day near the forest loosing arrows into the trees but the old man had other plans.
Sheva kneeled by the table as the old man sat in his rocking chair nearby. His eyes fixed on Sheva and her work. Sheva had been in that position for about an hour practicing her glyphing, trying to draw them perfectly but she was not cautious enough and the result was evident. She let out a soft growl of frustration after making yet another mistake.
"Patience my dear, the purpose is not to complete the glyph quickly but instead to complete it perfectly. The reason your hand is not steady is because it is being rushed." came the old man's voice, wise and serene.
Sheva simply took a deep breath and nodded before beginning a new glyph, taking a moment to concentrate before writing anything.
"Do not strain your mind by concentrating, instead strive to attain relaxation. The more calm your inner-self the easier it will become. Try to remember you are not repeating a specific process but instead allowing your soul to give it's own meaning to the glyph." came the old man's voice again, almost as if it were her conscience itself explaining it to her.
She began again first dipping her quill into the ink and slowly bringing it to the scroll. She took another deep breath and closed her eyes envisioning the glyph, what it's purpose was to be and it's appearance. Slowly she began to draw the glyph, carefully, inch by inch she drew the curves. Instead of focusing on the physical process she allowed her thoughts to take control of the task at hand. Finally an hour later Sheva sat back letting out a soft sigh of relief as she looked at her work. She couldn't help but feel proud of her work when she received smile from the old man reassuring her that she had done well.

[Flashback] Written Intentions

A week later Sheva found herself in the same position, two hours had passed and she was beginning to get frustrated again. The old man had her drawing a glyph on the palm of her hand this time.
"Remember child, you are creating a 'Focus' glyph, this can be very useful when it comes to boosting your other magic. Your Reimancy for example, the focus glyph will allow you to channel your djed with less strain allowing for faster spells." said the old man, pausing half way to give a sickly cough.
Sheva nodded again, continuing to draw the glyph on her hand. She understood that glyphing was a magic that was meant to be used in conjunction with other magic. It immensely expanded the possibilities of otherwise basic magics.
.
Several minutes later she had completed the focus glyph on her palm, it had taken her a while but she felt more confident with each passing attempt.
"That's enough for the day, go child enjoy your archery. Also I would like you to try your reimancy so that you can better understand the effects of the glyph. BUT remember child, magic is dangerous when used recklessly."
Sheva nodded as she got up and left the house with her bow and arrows. She made her way to the forrest edge where she practiced her archery when she had the chance. As she walked she thought back to the old man's constant warnings of the dangers of magic and especially overgiving. The word alone struck a small fear in her, she knew the affects the dangers and was always as cautious as she could be.
.
Arriving at her destination Sheva wasted no time in shooting an arrow into a nearby tree followed by another and another. She was not a great shot but could at least hit her target. Being here relaxed her, she assumed it was her animal side that enjoyed the familiarity of the forest, along with the peaceful solitude. Sheva didn't often shift into her animal form in fear of being attacked by a hunter. She fired a few more arrows before going to retrieve them, ripping them out of the bark of the tree. She gathered her arrows and stepped into the forest, the canopy of the trees created a beautiful view from below as rogue rays of sunlight found their way through the gaps. Not far in was a small stream connected to a fairly small pond, Sheva often came here to relax, the sounds of the gentle flowing of the water along with the distant chirps created a very mesmerizing atmosphere. Sheva knelt beside the pond running her fingers through the water in sweeping motions. Oh yes, she had nearly forgotten about the glyph on her hand, the old man had said to try some reimancy.

Sheva held her hand out over the pond as she began to focus, slowly pushing the djed out of her palm. To her surprise djed production was noticeably quicker and within ten seconds there was a pebble sized ball of glistening djed hovering above her hand. Sheva now understood what the old man meant by saying that glyphing was best used to bolster other magics.
Slowly she willed the small ball of djed to hover a half a meter above the surface of the pond, watching it intently. Then the fun part as she willed the djed to begin attracting the water. Acting as a magnet the djed gently pulled the waters of the pond toward it as if the water was being poured upwards until there was a ball of water floating. Sheva smiled to herself as she held both palms out toward the ball of water only inches from it. Her body tensed slightly as she released the djed propelling the ball of water several meters across the forest floor as it splashed against a nearby tree trunk.

Sheva let out a small giggle before laying down on the grass of the forest floor and examining the glyph on her hand. She couldn't help but smile knowing that her magic was improving and with it, her ability to impress the old man.

Remember, if you write in more detail and length, I can give you more XP. As it is, this thread was very short and could have been explored a lot more rather than rushed. Also, please be aware of two other things: your formatting e.g paragraphing, and also that it is very difficult for Kelvics to learn magic. It would have been nice to see this added complication - if you have ANY questions or concerns about this grading, don't hesitate to PM me.
