[Wright Memorial Library] Magecraft and Malediction

1st of Summer, 512 AV.

Wil stepped into the library, head lowered, body hidden among the cloak that shielded his shirt and trousers. He always sulked about in a cloak. The city of Zeltiva was a city that almost always seemed wet, likely because of the location. There was always a salty spray of sorts in the air, one that choked his senses with the smell of seaweed and fish. He didn't really dislike the smell, but it gave him something of a headache, and he did dislike headaches. They made his brain function at less than appropriate levels. Curling his nose a bit, he made his way deeper into the library. He walked the halls with an air of familiarity about him. He worked here, had started just this morning, and already somewhat knew the place.

He was looking for books on the theory and history of both Magecraft, and Malediction. Two similiar ideas, but two very different ways of going about them. He was more curious about Magecraft, as that seemed to be the more... "appropriate" art. He could understand the idea behind Malediction, but he could deny that it made his stomach twist and turn a bit. He had no morals to stop him from doing it, simply a small fear of having to deal with dead body parts. He reached the section on Malediction, the very small one at that, and continued on with another soft curl of his nose. He had suddenly talked himself out of reading up on the school of World Magic.

Chewing his lower lip in silent thought, he tried to figure out where he was going to go next. He had decided on Magecraft, just to form a base, but what would he start forming that base with? Would it be history, or would it be theory? Pausing in the middle of a row of books, he studied their binding, not really looking at them as much as occupying his eyes. Perhaps theory, then? No, maybe history. Yes, history. Theory was developed as the history of the art continued on. If he developed a knowledge for the history of Magecrafting, then that would prove as a base for the theory. Nodding, he made an abrupt turn, and headed deeper into a different part of the library. He had a goal now.

He paused at the sight of two students, whispering a bit louder than normal, giving some of the people around them a bit of a headache with their overly irritating garble. He could see the annoyed glances being cast their way as they giggled loudly, and whispered loudly. Loudly, loudly, loudly. He pondered for a moment, glancing around. He had just started working here this morning. Was it his place to shut up the students? Could he even do that?
