` Aryaste Wayward son of Syna ![]() Race: Ethaefal(Forsaken) Gender: Male Date of Rebirth:Fall 15, 496 AV
Physical Description Ethaefal: At five feet and seven inches, Aryaste tends toward slightness of body in any form. Unable as he is to shift with the seasons as do his more faithful cousins, his mane of loping curls remains the deep red it was in the Fall eleven years ago, framing a high-boned visage the envy of many a human maid(though not, of course, an Ethaefal). Almost lost in this crown of crimson are two elegant horns of the same color, curving up and backwards at a gentle angle. The rest of his body is colored a faint gold, following the same elegance in its curvaceousness as do his horns. Human: Lacking horns and a golden sheen, Aryaste makes for a less than intimidating specimen of human, augmented by the fact that he loses the extra seven inches that his celestial form gives him. At night, the gold of his skin darkens to a dusky olive, and his hair to a dull auburn. These facts notwithstanding, he remains somewhat handsome, for the youngling he appears to be. His features retain their fine structure, and his body its elegance of long, clean lines. Dhani: Not his favorite form. Suffice it to say, when it suits him to assume it, he spans eleven feet, with scales of gold-tinted carmine to match the hair color of both humanoid forms. Viper: Aryaste rarely, if ever, can be found in his basest form: a viper of red, black and gold eight feet long, with a yellow-trimmed hood that flares in anger or when startled.
Character Concept "Five years wandering amongst death and harsh reality have made me somewhat... pragmatic. If indeed there was some purpose to my torment, it would have made itself clear by now. It seems apparent that either the gods have made a mistake and are thus fallible and unworthy of worship, or have cast their faithful aside on a cruel whim. In either case, I see no reason to continue in my delusion; let Syna come to me, if she desires my devotion once more." ~Spoken in a religious debate, eleven years ago
Character History Post-Fall: During the first five years since he fell, Aryaste was convinced that this stint on Mizahar was a test of his devotion. As self-indulgent as the belief seems to him now, he spent them wandering from place to place, never really settling down in one city for long enough to have any lasting impact on any of their earthbound inhabitants. Five years, though, is a long time to spend in a place that seems like hell compared to home; the combination of death, petty crime, worldly lusts and injustice perpetrated on the innocent all conspired to break his piety to shards. The following eleven years were spent merely surviving, relying on his celestial form during the day to secure safety for the earthbound form he assumes at night.
