The Looks of a Lost Girl

Postby Delayni Vesse on July 12th, 2012, 6:27 am

Appearance

Specifics

  • Height- 5 foot 6 inches (human) and 2 feet (Cheetah)
  • Weight- Roughly 125 pounds (human) and 100 pounds (Cheetah)
  • Eye Color- Cedar-brown
  • Kelvic Traits- Slightly thinner and longer limbs, Elongated Canines
  • Similarities between Two Forms- Both have a small tear/peice missing from the middle of right ear. Also have scars on back, though less prominant in true form (Cheetah).

Image

In human form, Delayni appears to be much older than she actually is. Her chest is rather full for a human-age teen, and her frame is curvy. She is svelte, with long, thin (but muscular) limbs, and defined musculature on her abdomen. Her features are surprisingly mature, conveying a sort of sultry feel within her rounded, yet sharp, face. The candle-glow red hair on top of her head sweeps about in curly locks, flowing down to just under her shoulder-blades.

Upon closer inspection, however, her perfections begin to slowly unravel. Her once-beautiful hair is piecey, oily and cluttered with foilage. The body that would normally be envied by female Kelvics and Humans alike is now covered in patches of dirt as well as crusted blood. Viewing the back, one can clearly see more than a fair share's worth of thin, silvery lash-marks running the length of her backside. A section of the youth's small, rounded right-ear is missing, long lost to the normal battles of being an enslaved she-beast.

ImageWhenever in her beast form, which is quite often, Delayni is much more plain-looking. She is still fit, having a long silhoutte and a lean profile. To be slightly more precise, as a she-cat, Delay appears much more apt for stamina events, such as running or climbing, than fighting (part of this being natural, do to the fact that she is a Cheetah-shifter). Her golden pelt is littered with more spots than usual, all staying pretty much uniform in size. These dark spots contrast nicely with her crisp yellow fur and near-white manilla underside. Her tail is long and thicker than most others', ending in two or three longer spots. These longer "spots" are wider as well, making a ring or two around her tail. Unlike the rest of the female's markings, these rings are a cross between a brown-roan and cedar.

Funny Thing, Angst is,

Postby Delayni Vesse on July 12th, 2012, 7:30 am

Character Concept

Delay is what many would call lost. She is caught in the rather confusing world of a Kelvic: two forms, one life. By her standards, it is a world that could not, rather should not, be sensible. Not to her, and not to anyone. Period. And it seems that no matter how hard this young little girl tries, she cannot run from the fact that she is, indeed, a Kelvic.

It is this refusal to accept the truth that has led Dela into an unsure footing in her life. She stumbles along her path, attempting to find a place in this unforgiving world. Every time she comes along to said place, she is severely disappointed with it, as it is the same place every time: the place of a Kelvic. And, thus, she doggedly tramples elsewhere.

ImageMake no mistake, though. Just because this youth is lost, self-rufusing and unsure of her place within the world, that does not make her any less of a Cheetah at heart. Just like the wild cats, Delayni is a challenger at heart. Nothing is so sweet to her as the taste of an outright win, a glorious success. Her pride, though it lacks in pride of her race, it is infinite in her pride of the Cheetah-kind. These paired may normally cause a human to become cocky, never backing down and often initiating fights due to a bruised ego. Although the latter may be occasionally true for this particular Kelvic, the rest is nothing close to her temperament. Because, even though she likes to talk big and act as though she rides upon a shining white horse constantly, Delayni is surprisingly humble, and knows when enough is enough.

Due to her youthful naiveness, the she-beast tends to jump to conclusions. Also due to this young blood within her veins is the fact that she tends to be rather bipolar...in nearly every sense of the word. One moment she may be siding with you, while the other she is hell-bent on revenge upon you for a seemingly petty event. Her dislikes may become her likes, and, the next day, become completely oblivious to her.

Despite all this spunk, this brovado, that creates the shell around the shifter, one can see right to her core. And it is this vulnerableness that Delayni searches to hide.

Well, the Past IS Past.

Postby Delayni Vesse on July 12th, 2012, 8:21 am

History

Delayni's mother was a full-fledged Kelvic who was almost as rambunctious as her daughter. Fortunately for her, though, Crimisa (her mother) stayed in an almost pack-like family setting. Along with her nearest family members, Crimosa would travel along the mountainsides of Mizahar. This 'pack' taught Delayni's mother the importance of family unity and love. These teachings helped control Crimosa's sparatic rebellious fits well. It wasn't until the family reached a tall grassed plain that her peaceful regime spun off-course. For it was in that field that a tall man stood. Muscular, with thick and moppy hair, Crimosa fell for the pure Kelvic.

And fell she did...straight down into the cavernous pits of this stranger's dark mind.

Unfortunately, Crimosa had fallen for a thief. His motives were scandolous to say the least, and his young mindset took shape to that of a Tazmanian Devil...his beast form. The pack had attempted to salvage what was left of their sweet Crimosa, but it was too late: her heart had been seized by this male all too quickly. The pair fled in a rebellious fit.

And so, a year later, Delayni Enad Vesse was born. Surprisingly, both parents were extremely dedicated to the young shapeshifter. That is, up until Crimosa was taken by slave traders. Delayni's father stayed with her as long as his heart could bear, but as soon as Delay could fend for herself, he booked it after the slavers.

Alone, hurt and fairly miffed, Delay shifted into her Cheetah form and stayed there. She moved along to warmer climates in hopes of finding her own niche. Too bad, though, that he parents never taught her that the desertous region of Eyktol was no where to play games. For soon she was taken in by devious criminals. Seeing worth within the already blooming young girl, she was put to work as a dancer and wench in Hai. Delayni, being born with two left feet and enough clumsiness for all of Mizahar, was soon deemed useless in this field, and was quickly sold off to slave traders.

ImageAfter this, the teen Cheetah now bounced between many different owners. The most impactful to the Kelvic was a small Vantha family within the walls of Syliras. This family treated her like one of their own, teaching her the Vani language as well as the written and spoken Common. But after nearly a year of dedicated servatude to these Vantha, they moved to Avanthol. They deemed the ice-city no place for a desert creature, and the temperate city no place for a family of snow-dwellers.

And thus, Delayni was released and left to her own, misguided, naive devices.

Important Relationships

Crimisa
Crim :
Image

Race- True Wolf Kelvic
Relation to Dela- Mother
Last Seen- Exact Date Unknown, but when Delay was roughly 10 in human years.
Much like her daughter, Crimisa had a mean streak within her, a streak that came out at the most inconveinent times. With help from her family, though, this young Kelvic soon learned to control the darker side within her. However, much of this changed when she met Yhari, her soon-to-be husband. Though the two never officially married, Crimisa stayed awfully loyal to him. Not long after the two met, Delayni was born. The daughter seemed to calm the two of them into finding a permanent home. Life was well, up until Crim was stolen away by slavers. As far as Dela knows, her mother is dead.

Yhari
Ari :
Image

Race- True Tasmanian Devil Kelvic
Relation to Dela- Father
Last Seen- Exact Date Unknown, but when Delay was roughly 12 in human years.
The majority of those who meet Yhari see him as a womanizer. They'd call him selfish, greedy and no-good. Granted, that all would be true. But, for reasons unknown, he seemed to be the perfect match for Crimisa. He complemented her nicer attributes, while she settled him down. The two had met in a field surrounded by forests during a cool spring day. She had been travelling with her pack, while he had just freed himself from the grasp of a debt collector (You see, Yhari was a known gambler. Fortunately, he was a rather good card player. Unfortunately, though, that was the only type of game-player he was.). Some would call it love at first sight, though "love" might be termed loosely. Throughout their relationship, you'd see the two constantly picking at each other; sarcasm was their favorite term of endearment. After Dela was older, he passed down some of his trade to her, giving her a rigged set of cards. Sadly, he began to break down without Crimisa by his side. Truth be told, he stayed with his daughter, who he loved dearly, as long as he could...but the emptiness that Crim's absence brought soon took its toll, and he left to search for his significant other.

Svit
Svitty :

Race- Inarta
Relation to Dela- Best Friend/Master
Last Seen- Spring of 512 AV
Most Inarta are strong, independant, brash people whose opinions all but stay to themselves. Svit was no exception. Born to two travelling Inartians, the young boy soon found himself alone along a lonely, ill-used dirt path. For his parents, like any good Inarta, weren't made for parenting. Thus, they had left him to fend for himself not but two or three years after his birth. Fortunately for this youth, a troop of Vantha were headed into the Syliras. They took him in, raising him as though he were their own. As he hit is angsty teenage years, Svit became mroe demanding than ever, requesting all sorts of gifts--a pet being among them. Saynina, the Vantha parent's natural-born daughter had also been putting in a few suggestions to the like as well. And so the the father was sent to the market with a simple task: bring back a pet to entertain and protect the children. Returning with Delayni, the father seemed rather proud. After all, he had nabbed the beautiful Kelvic for a decent price. At first, Svit and Dela wanted little to do with each other, often staying at seperate ends of the apartment. It wasn't until a few months later that Dela earned Svit's respect and loyalty. The teen had been sent to retrieve groceries from inside the town. He had been forced to take the Cheetah-shifter along, as he had to travel through some shifty areas within Syliras. And, shifty be as shifty was, the pair was attacked. Without the Kelvic to protect the adolesence, Svit would surely be no more. After effectively warding off the danger, the two seemed to have an unbreakable bond. To this day Delayni still wishes for her true Master's safety, even though he resides far off in Avanthol.

Saynina
Nina :
Image

Race- Vantha
Relation to Dela- Master and Teacher
Last Seen- Spring of 512 AV
A bright, shy little girl, Saynina never had a problem stowing away into a book. She enjoyed the tales they told and often wished them to be true, adoring them more than her own reality. Saynina also loved, just like all Vantha, a good song. She would frequently burst into lyricless songs while in school (which would cause a repremand from the Syliras teachers). It wasn't until Delayni arrived that Saynina found her true love--teaching. She would sit for hours teaching the Kelvic to sing, read, write and speak properly. Often times she would take the Cheetah into the market, demanding that the she-beast tell her the name of items that she pointed to. In return, Dela offered unwaivering protection, and an always-understanding shoulder to lean on. The pair would also be seen more times than not, wearing matching scarves that they had, indeed, crafted together. Before the Vantha moved back to Avanthol, the two exchanged gifts. To the girl, Dela gave a few cards from her father's deck. In return, she recieved a few beautiful scarves (some were stolen, the others were burried and hidden throughout the city).
