A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

An Unusual Meeting [Bojovnik]

The Ravokian was thoroughly unimpressed with her circumstances. Her skills in swimming were non-existent, and she applied what she remembered her brother teaching in her in his brief moments of care. Which had been very infrequent. The thief tried breathing more steadily, tried extending her limbs the way he told her. She didn't accomplish much at all but at least she felt like she was doing something. Worse, the oaf had chased her, and was now laughing at her. Granted, she likely looked like a spectacle as it were. But still it was completely ungentlemanly of him! The threat of the knocked arrow didn't really spark fear in her over the burn of humiliation.

Her head bobbed under water and she had to push against the pull to bob back up, her legs flailing in panic. He'd demanded that she stopped, but if she stayed still too long in the water she'd likely drown. Graeve had always been the swimmer of their family, and now Ariadne found she regretted never learning how.
"Fine," she replied, spitting out canal water that attempted to steal into her open mouth. "On the condition that we'll talk civilly and that it stays with me until we've reached a conclusion. It's only fair." She stated with all the dignity of a queen. It could have passed for impressive too had she not been soaking wet, neck deep in the canal.

She flopped her way over one of the numerous ramps that the Ravosalas docked on. The thief tried laying parallel with the surface of the water and stroking with her arms the way she was told too. She made a little scoop with her hands and moved, thinking fishy thoughts. Her feet kicked wildly, more quickly than the average swimmer lent by her panic to get out of the dark waters. Ariadne went under a few times, and could certainly not keep up her pathetic swimming attempt up for long. Thankfully the ramp wasn't too far from them, and as she went the man walked with her progress. She thought she was starting to get a better handle on swimming when she looked over to see him walking at a lazy stroll in time with her, still chuckling.

How frustrating.

The thief got to the ramp and held on, hovering in the water still. Ariadne looked at the man again, her eyes burning with water and embarrassment.
"Help me up." She said, the water and shame making her voice rougher than normal. At the man's look Ariadne rolled her eyes. "Please?" She asked through clenched teeth.

An Unusual Meeting [Bojovnik]

Postby Bojovnik Vybutit on September 16th, 2012, 5:24 pm

"Seems fair. I will keep my weapons on me so dont think you can run." Bojovnik said as he waited for her to swim up to the canal. It wasnt like Bojovnik could do any better but he wouldn't be stupid enough to jump in the canals with no experience. She tried swiming to one of the ramps let out but it was taking her some time.

Bojovnik just stood their waiting. No emotion needed to be shown right now he only wanted his jop to be done. Even if it was mean and he would hope no one would ever do it to him, Bojovnik still slightly chuckled as the thief tried to swim his way. Her paddling was admirable and she clearly didn't enjoy it at all. Finaly she made it to the ramp as was ready to climb up. Not thinking anything of it Bojovnik turned around and began to sit down waiting to talk until he heard her ask for help.

Walking up to the thief Bojovnik couldn't help but smile. "No problem princess" he said to her as he held out his hand. Pulling her up he noticed she was completely soaked in water. "Cold?" He asked wile he took of his cloak that was on his back and held it up to her. It wasn't that he felt bad for her but just that this might help them get onto better terms. "Well lets start off. I'm Bojovnik a mercenary here in Ravok for the time being. Now, who are you thief?"

An Unusual Meeting [Bojovnik]

Postby Ariadne on September 18th, 2012, 3:24 pm

"I can be quite accommodating, Bojovnik." She replied, accepting his coat with a 'thank you' and a small nod of her head. She wasn't particularly cold, as Rhysol's power kept Ravok at a mild temperature, but there was something deliciously satisfying in wetting his coat for him. She shrugged into the over-sized garment, her back-pack - and the necklace - safely beneath it. "Call me Lilith," She said, giving the merc her alias. It was in her experience that when you were in a sordid profession it was a good idea to lie about your given name.

She rung out her hair, returning the water back to the canal. Bojovnik began walking away so the thief gave up the endeavor and followed him, staying close enough to him to show she wouldn't run but far enough to not be in immediate danger of him.
"May I ask you a question? What's a mercenary doing inside the home of a gang boss' mother, stealing her necklace?"

OOCSorry for the short post!

An Unusual Meeting [Bojovnik]

Postby Bojovnik Vybutit on September 26th, 2012, 11:56 pm

Bojovnik chuckled again. "Well I think you just answered that question for yourself girly. I was hired by another gang to fake a hit on that gangs mother. I dont know who or what but a job's a job right?" That was how he always saw it. You know what you need to know, nothing more. Originaly he had hopped for another kind of lifestyle but when he sits down its clear that this is all he knows. A life of honest work sounds good but Bojovnik knows that he could never settle down at the moment.

Everyone has a reason for who they are. Whatever that reason is may never be told but he knows that for him this is his life. "One day I want a boat...a nice boat with a crew that I can sail around in and do ...stuff." Bojovnik thought to himself and chuckled again letting a smile come across his face. Realizing that Lilith was standing next to him looking at him. "Sorry? So why were YOU their? Blind luck? Or something more perhaps?" He asked with a shrug. Bojovnik's voice was not as stern or nasty as it used to be. If she had any simple pleasantries at all the two could have a nice discussion.

Waiting for the answer Bojovnik asked another question. "So you must have lived in Ravok for a time if you knew were this canal was in such a easy way, am I right?"

An Unusual Meeting [Bojovnik]

Postby Ariadne on November 6th, 2012, 4:52 pm

Ariadne pursued her lips in thought. It wasn't hard to believe Bojovnik and he was likely telling the truth. The odd part of the equation was the fact that he'd been hired in the first place. Or was he simply disposable? It didn't really matter unless whoever hired him was setting him up, and if that were the case he must of tweaked someone's nose. Or maybe she was being paranoid and assuming the worst case scenario right now. That was nearly certainly more probable.

At his question Ariadne shrugged nonchalantly.
"Oh, you know, sightseeing. I just wanted to see what they had and perhaps acquire a few of their possessions. Birds need to fly, fish need to swim, I need to eat." She paused thoughtfully. "I don't usually break into people's homes and steal. I wanted to try it out, and it so happens someone else was interested in the home. Enough to break through the back door, anyways." She finished with a delightful laugh; now that they were no longer playing cat-and-mouse Ariadne could find the humor in the situation.

"Born and raised in Ravok. I take it you're new to the city?" She responded, shifting slighting in the coat. The idea of a drink was seeming more appealing as the minutes went by, and they could negotiate comfortably over the ownership of the necklace, warmed by the ale. Well, as comfortably as one could get dripping wet.

"I would like to suggestion a drink at the Silver Sliver. A much more cordial place where we can discuss our business further in the comforts of a tavern.” ’And where there will be people to see us,’ she thought to herself. “And perhaps we have more to discuss than just business,” she added coyly, nearly as an afterthought. Her brown eyes sparkled in merriment and warmth. “I’m not so bad once you get to know me, I assure you.”

An Unusual Meeting [Bojovnik]

"A drink? Anytime." Bojovnik said as he stood up and collected his things. The mention of ale sounded great and Bojovnik was always willing to have a drink. Standing up Bojovnik tightened up his armor and made it more comfortable to wear for the walk to the tavern. The walk would only be a few blocks down from their spot. He waited for her to get up and walk as well before he started talking again. "Yeah I'm only going to be here for the time being. Came in the beginning of the season. Not my favorite city by far but...it makes do." He noticed she still had his coat and shrugged his shoulders. He would get it back later.

When she brought up time after the drink Bojovnik simply laughed and shook his head. "Don't mix business with pleasure...sorry." He said to Lilith and decided to ask a few more questions. "So if you live here why do you have to steal? Doesn't your family have a business here or something?" He asked, most people that had family would surely have some means of living and getting food. Maybe if you were a foreigner to the city then it would make sense but not if you've lived here.

"Were almost their" Bojovnik said as the walked up to the tavern. It was night so their was plenty of people waiting to get a drink and noises could be heard down the street. Opening the door he held it open and waited for Lilith to go in first. "After you?"
