[Ma'adele]

"Well the konti village was built half in water and half out. So yes there is a lot of water. It is an island after all. It mostly a fishing village on the coast. Our trade is seafood or that's what we mostly eat. It not difficult to live on because we can adventure out into the ocean easily because we have lungs and gills. One of our gods hailed from a salt water realm. Our scales are unhartied lossly from him. Also we are allowed to venture away the isle to fullfil our duty to find a mate. Is that enough for now? Its just a race outsiders can't fully understand. We pay great respect to our God/goddess that created us. I sure am winded from all that talking. So tell me about the Inarta." She breathed in deeply a few times, trying to catch more air into her lungs. Ma'adele let Kanri have her turn to talk.

[Kanri]

"I'm sorry for making you talk so much. The Inarta all live in this mountain all their life so you never hear their adventure stories. I never get to hear from the outside world, as much as I would love to travel beyond these walls. Sometimes, it leaves me feeling trapped here... But I doubt that any other Inarta feel this way. Wind Reach is sacred to us, and that includes me. As you can see, it is a town built on the inside of a volcano so that's why the tempurature is always on the warmer side. I guess the most significant form of order around here is the Caste System. Everyone has a place in this city and based on your abilities, you are placed in the Caste. The Endals are those who can ride the Eagles. The Avora are the artisans and hunters. The Chiet are the commoners, often taking on important jobs like maintaining books or teaching the younger Inartans. The Yasi are the Youth Caste. I think I still consider myself part of that Caste at times, even though I am technically a full fledged adult. And then there are the Dek, who do all the work that none of the other Castes want to do. I think the Caste functions well, though many outsiders dislike the way the Drudges are treated. Not that Inartans really care..." Kanri explained. She enjoyed talking and explaining things but she hoped she wasn't boring her new friend.

[Ma'adele]

"What are the Drudges? This all sounds like a much more larger and more complated lifestyle system than the one on Mura." She took a pause to let Kanri answer her question. "Just to let you know, the heat does bug me a bit. It makes my scales dry out faster and makes me dehyate quicker. So unless a drink more than the usual 4 glasses of water a day and take at least two baths a day, I might get very ill. Just a heads up." Ma'adele said truthfully but bluntly as if saying 'if I die or get sick, it's up to you to take care of me.'

[Kanri]

"The drudges and the Dek are one and the same. We use them interchangebly. However, even though they do a lot of hard work, you probably won't want to talk with them. The higher up Inartans don't like it when you do that..." Kanri warned her.

Upon hearing the fact that head bugged her, Kanri immediately leapt up and refilled her waterskin. "If you start to feel ill, just go to the infirmary and they will be able to get you something. And even if you get sick, I'll be certain to come visit you so you aren't bored." Kanri then told her the directions to the infirmary.

[Ma'adele]

"Thank you for your kind hospitality." She smiled and took a couple drinks from her waterskin. She took the directions and made a mental note. Once she departed with Kanri for the day, she would make a quick visit to the infirmary. "So what is there to do around here for fun?"

[Kanri]

"Fun?" Kanri thought about it for a moment. "I guess the Inarta don't have that easy of a life style. Even so, most of us love what we do so that makes the work 'fun'. There is a place called The Pits where fighting events are held. A lot of people go there to relieve stress. Then there are the Archery Ranges. Those can be really nice when they aren't too crowded, though compared to many Inartans, I'm an awful archer. Besides that... there is a dance club called Inclement Weather. I have been down there a few times but it gets a little wild for my tastes. There's also the Cedar Amphitheater but that only has performances on certain nights. And there are other places but... well, I guess you could say I am loathe to talk about them. However, if you really want, you can ask around town about the Dreaming Lady or Lost Sense but I refuse to talk about those myself."

[Ma'adele]

"Could you watch other's train in their fighting styles? But I could also go for a carefree dance. What about you? I would rather go early before it gets wild. What do you think?" She relaxed a bit into the chair and drank more from her waterskin. She also pulled out an apple from her backpack and began slicing them into bite sized pieces then passed half to Kanri. "Enjoy, my treat." She smiled and began munching on her serving of the apple.

[Kanri]

Kanri slowly ate the apple Ma'adele sliced for her. She didn't get apples too much so it was very good. "Thanks," Kanri said. She paused while she thought and chewed. Fighting with a foreigner might be really fun, though surely dangerous. But they would just be sparring. And the Pits were perfect for that. And Kanri wasn't much of a dancer. "I'm more of a fighter than a dancer. If you're okay with it, I wouldn't mind sparring in the Pits for a little while. Before it gets too crowded."

OOCWe will need to get a storyteller here if we'd like to spar. Since it is your thread, you ought to ask.

[Ma'adele]

"Okay, just to let you know I am not fighting. I'm just going to sit back and watch. Or I can try my hand at archery? Hmmm..." He said and trailed off in deep thought trying to imagine failing at that. All she knew is she was eager to explore and experience something new. Since arriving to Wind Reach, she really didn't explore much and just kept to places where she wouldn't need to interact with others. But today of all days, was the day to give into wanting interaction. She sighed. "I can't make up my mind."

[Kanri]

"Whichever you would prefer. I will be your guide!" Kanri told her readily. "But if we go to an archery range that will require me to buy a bow and some arrows first. I have never owned one myself and always just borrowed the bow of a friend. I should probably get one but I haven't... So, the Pits would be less of a hassle."

Kanri felt sort of embarrased to admit she did not have a bow despite the fact she was one of the Inarta, famous for their skill in archery. And yet Kanri had a noted lack of ability in that. However, she still had to help the foreigner get around as best she could. She saw that as part of her duty as a resident of the city.
