Here's to the Urges (Giph)

45th Summer 512

A slight echo of pain rippled through his veins as he stood there, narrowing his eyes at blood fool that decided that bumping into a Zith was a bright idea. If he consciously didn’t tell himself not to grit his teeth, the razors would be blunt by now. “Pardon me.” The tone in his voice most certainly wasn’t the happiest and with a squeak like pop adding to the effect the man would turn quickly, eye of fear, and take off just as fast as it happened. The word sorry did slither from the man’s mouth before he fled like a freaking coward.

A deep breath would be brought in, held and then exhaled moments later as if he tried to compose himself. “Pathetic spawn of irritation.” Those words came from his ever so slightly parted lips as he turned back to the crowed, a major test of patience for him, and continued to peer through the random vendors that tended to their wares. This town was worth it. Most certainly. He thought to himself as he paused to look over a ground of people that he considered nothing more than slaves but who seemed to be selling herbs. Herbs he knew about.

This day was just like yesterday, the day before that and the day be for that one. He couldn’t stand these people and the urge to rip out a throat was almost overwhelming to the point where he felt like his eyes were bleeding. The heat in his heart pounded as if a coming army was before him. But. The thrill of battle had to be held back. He wasn’t stupid.

For the longest time he stood there, arms crossed over his chest while his wings, folded over his shoulders like some form of makeshift cloak created an image for people to fear. From above, if one were to be there, you could tell he was an outcast, a scourge or something of the sort as where he was, people avoided. It was like look at the sea, a school of fish with a shark in the middle. They spread outwards and around the shark out of fear…or perhaps respect...but still continue with their useless lives. SharkImage

A grumble in his stomach offered a new urge for him as now he started to hunger. He was lucky that he knew of a vendor that wanted to sell a piece of livestock that could be considered a meal for him. Even though he wanted something with a little more…humanoid.

He stopped for the slightest of moments here and by his facial features one could take note of his pain, his arms, clawed hands and even frame tensed around him as he fought the urge to lunge atop an unsuspecting person, rip open their chest and feed on their innards.

Maybe coming to town was a bad idea.

Here's to the Urges (Giph)

Postby Giph on August 28th, 2012, 4:44 pm

Giph had just been on the way towards a nice quiet and safe place where he could practice a bit more with his crossbow. What had he ever done in a previous life to walk into a zith that looked as if he wanted to eat something, or more likely in its case, someone, alive and kicking while it was going down its throat. And what was even worse then that knowledge is that the animal was way to close for him to be even close to comfortable and it seemed to look at him while its entire body was tensing up.

So giph gathered his courage and stared the beast straight in the eye as he laid a hand on his crossbow.
“Hey zith, keep it down or else there might be a few more holes in you when the guards or the ebonstryfe see you.” He said in the most scathing tone he could manage, even though there was a twinge of fear hidden inside. “They don't like an out of controll zith and sure as hell wouldn't think twice to put you down.”

Here's to the Urges (Giph)

And from the school of fish comes a brave one. Narrowed eyes took in the young man before him that seemed to have more attitude than brains and with his slightly turned neck, one could tell for certain that he wanted to rip the child’s throat wide open. He had to offer him some respect because to be completely honest if the human didn’t speak out and draw his attention from hunger and to shock, he would have killed someone this day.

“A brave fellow...” His tone was a little more irritating than pleasant and his posture showed that sentiment as well. “You are either a fool or stronger than you look.” The voice crackled and spit out a few pops of screeching but still held true to its deep pitch as he moved a single step towards Giph in more of a sinister fashion than he even knew. “If the guards are going to kill me, maybe you can be my last meal…? Yes?” A low hiss formed as he licked his lips ever so gently with intent pouring from his eyes.

His arms loosened from around him and an arch of his back indicated he wanted more than to be friends with this…human. The pain ached in his stomach but in the name of reality, it was all in his head. He hungered a little and his instincts took over. No! Stop! You cannot, not here. That thought slammed hard onto his frame, like a brick wall falling upon him, he would stop. “Who are you?” It wasn’t as if he cared who he was but the question caused a slight distraction and possibly will make the human more; human to him.

Here's to the Urges (Giph)

Giph didn't really think himself brave at the moment. More like incredibly foolish for talking to the ravenous animal. Especially when the sweeping hungry gaze of the animal settled on him instead of just keeping flicking to everybody around. A shiver went down his spine as those yellow eyes seemed to rest on his jugular. The body language of the beast in front of him just screamed that he wanted to take a bite out of him.

He gulped as the zith took a step forwards, once again cursing himself for not learning how to defend himself when the danger was close enough to make sure he couldn't get a shot of with his prized crossbow. He really should be looking to fix that as soon as he could.
“I'm nobodies meal zith. So keep yourself under control, if you are able to.” He was fully aware he couldn't do anything about it if he did decide to attack, aside try to beat him of long enough for the guards to kill it. But still, showing fear or backing down in front of a wild animal would make it attack for sure.

When instead of mocking him or attacking him anyway like he would have expected of this beast it asked who he was. Giph blinked once in surprise before answering.
“Giph, what is it to you?” He didn't trust this zith as far as he could throw him, but he just had to stall the being until guards arrived or until it lost interest in him

There was that feeling again, the one he didn’t quite care for at the moment but in an overall picture, it was a beautiful thing; to a Zith that is. It was the feeling you got when you have a good piece of chocolate, a big glass of ice cold water after the hottest day you have ever seen. Refreshed. You wanted it and want more of it. That’s what he was fighting right now because the taste of human flesh spreading between his teeth while the liquid, warm and thick caused a feeling like none other. The boy was before him, urging him to kill him and the attitude offered most certainly wasn’t helping his case.

He was no meal, not to a Zith he exclaimed and with a sadistic grin he considered the ‘not yet’ phrase he seemed to forget with his statement. He left that… he had to. The city was no place for letting his craving take the better of him. A glance was offered to his right and with narrowing eyes he did take note that a guard wasn’t all that far away and to be completely honest, he didn’t doubt that they were following him like some vengeful vulture or something of the sort. Just waiting for him to mess up.

A slight chuckle formed within with that thought as he put an image of the men flapping their arms like birds and trying to pick at his eyes with their useless pointed noses. He outwardly shook his head as his attention was brought back to the one before him as he spoke it’s name and with a nod, he would return with his own words. “I am happy to meet you Giph.” That was a lie, he couldn’t care less and honestly putting the name to his meal was a sign of amusement to him but at least he was taking his time, time he needed to fight the urges.

Finally he responded to the question as to ‘what was it to you’ the statement made after he gave his little name. “I merely want to converse, a little, this way I do not rip your jugular from your throat and feast on your innards.” He smiled ever so nicely with that statement. It was after all the only way to stop him, right now. “Control is a novelty my friend.”

A more violent shake of his head came to be as if he attempted to shake the urges from him; who knows if it would actually work. “Where are you from Giph? From Ravok here?” He motioned around with his hand, now that he wasn’t crossing his arms across his chest.

Was it working? Hmmm, it appears so. He was losing his interest in devouring the little spawn of food.

Here's to the Urges (Giph)

Even if giph would have been deaf he would have heard the insincerity in the animal's voice. What did the thing think he was, deaf, gullible, stupid and nursing a serious deathwish? Giph just responded to the thing's greeting with his the typical amount of respect he afforded every single non-human, none at all.
“Don't expect me to step into that shyke vagik.” he bluntly stated in response. “You're a zith. That means you are lower then the average non-human in this city. So I'm not buying what you are saying.” When Zardra began ranting about about how he wanted to feast on his entrails giph just shook his head, wondering if the small amount of brains the zith had where working right. Here he was, talking about how he wanted to murder somebody when he was standing in the middle of a street. A crowded street at that, where the guards never where that far away.

“A zith with control. Haven't seen one of those before, the majority usually gets killed by the guards because they can't keep themselves under control.” giph informed the zith with a smile on his face, feeling backed by the presence of the guards “I wonder how long it is going to take before that happens to you, especially if you keep acting like this.” After his generous warning to the zith he finally answered the question he was asked. “Yes I'm from ravok. Most of the humans around here are. What zith infested hole did you crawl out of?” The last sentence, surprisingly wasn't meant as a racist slur, but Giph had heard that the mayority of the zith lived in caves.
