Wolfwood The Orphan of Wing Chun ![]() Basic Information Race: Kelvic Birthday & Age : She's slightly unsure of her own birthday, and thus considers herself to have aged one more year at the beginning of each new year. Coincidentally, she is also unsure if she is three or four human year old, although considering that she spends a majority of her time as a wolf, when asked she will generally give an age between 21 and 28 canine-years (3-4 human years) Gender: Female Languages Language 1: Common: Fluent Language 2: Canine: Basic Physical Description Like all Kelvic, Wolfwood keeps many of her wolflike features in her human form. Most interestingly are the two slightly pointed bumps at the tops of each of her ears. Most of her teeth are also pointed slightly, all but the molars and grinders in the back of her mouth. Her canines (two slightly pointed front teeth set four teeth apart in the human mouth)are extremely elongated, nearly 3 centimeters long from tip to gum. Even when she smiles with her mouth closed the tips of the teeth can be seen poking out from behind her lips, thus giving her an almost vampiristic look. Her nose is pointed slightly and like her her wolf form she has a scar cut diagonally across her face, one going from the top of one cheek, across the nose and ending near her jaw on the other side. There is also a second similar scar starting on her jaw, and going across to her chin. Wolfwood's human eyes are bright blue, and can go from large round pupils to thin slits depending on her mood and the light level. Finally there is her hair, its a mix of dark blue, black and grey and rolls of her shoulders down her back in a mix of poorly groomed curls. The hair on top of her head is also odd, directly above her ear the hair sort of shoots up to a point, before rolling back down, giving her the illusion that she has large dog ears on top of her head. However, it is just an odd hair formation she's always had. Her wolf form is pretty easily recognizable, and seen side by side with her human form it is very easy to see the similarities. Like her human form her wolf form has two cartilage filled pointed bumps on the top of each ear, they almost look like spikes and she's quite proud of them. Like her human form, her wolf form also has a pointed nose with a long scar across, and on her jaw a long scar can be seen as well. Her fur is a long curly mix of grey, dark blue, and black colors just like her human form hair. Other than that however, she is nearly impossible to tell the difference between her and any feral wolf. Character Concept Wolfwood is a bit odd for a Kelvic. Firstly, she prefers her human form above all others. Although, she does spend her nights hunting in her wolf form. She has all but mastered the art of hand to hand combat in human form, but can hardly hold a blade or bow to save her life. Her personality is obviously somewhat feral and wolflike. She just loves to see a good brawl, and can hardly hold herself from participating in one. Here's where she differs from most Kelvic. Although most Kelvic are loners, usually searching to be bound to master, Wolfwood, lacks that trait almost entirely. She still feels a definite longing to have a master of some kind, but usually fills that desire by doing favors, or quests for her acquaintances, a single master has never filled the void for her. She also likes her name she gave it to herself, and does her best to remember it even when she has at times been given another. Wolfwood tries her best to be the 'good' guy. She has no major goal in life really, no plans for the future and really just lives day by day. Sleeping outside in her wolf form at nights, exploring the cities during the days, hunting when she's hungry, spending more time as a wolf when times are hard (since it generally means more food) even hunting as a pack, human or otherwise when loneliness should strike her. She is a free spirit at best, a renegade and pariah at worst, and really only has true care for a few things. Wolfwood, truly cares about no one, but not necessarily in a bad way. If she see someone in trouble she'll help of course, but not so much as to go completely out of her way unless the cause is near to her heart, which it rarely is. She loves her name, its one of the few things she truly believes is hers, and hers alone and will defend it fiercely when necessary. She also loves her freedom, the ability to go anywhere, and be anything is a source of near endless enjoyment for her. Finally, she loves the odd necklace she wears, luckily its long and versatile enough to keep around her neck when she transforms. It's made of simple black leather and has a large tooth hanging from the tips, though from who or what the tooth came from she is unsure. It looks canine though. She's not quite sure where it came from, like a lot of things in her life, its just always been there. There isn't much about the world she is truly against, although any poor treatment of her kind, she will always frown upon. She is also pretty much against any kind of mistreatment of an animal, kill them and eat them or let them go, but don't torture them. Character History Even for Wolfwood, her history is tough to track. What she knows is this. Her birthdate and where is unknown, she knows it was either near the end or beginning of the years 508 or 509 respectively. Her first memories take place in a wasteland type area at what could be a couple months, or a year old for her. At that time she was already alone. She recalls at least this much though. Her very first memory was in a cave, there was an odd abundance of dried meat and fruit, enough to live off of for roughly a month. There was nobody there to ration it to her, but she found she was somehow already rationing it off to herself, perhaps it was some wolf instinct or something, but the food lasted a while. She grew pretty quickly, most likely this could be attributed to her constantly being in wolf form for the first few years of her life. One day though, perhaps because she was born in human form and thus simply had to have at one time or another changed into wolf form, she changed forms again back to a human. This would be the first time she'd changed and the first time she was attacked as well. She'd been traveling with a pack of obviously feral wolves, pretending to be one herself when all of a sudden ~poof~ or... well it was more of a ~flash~ and she was human in mere seconds. Luckily she still had a lot of the smell of a wolf or more than two may have turned. Even more lucky that the pack was a rather small one, only six wolves including her former self. Best of all they had been running, she went from all fours to two legs and stopped. One wolf turned back immediately, another a moment afterwards sensing the lack of feet behind it and turned as well, luckily the rest were either too stupid, or too intent on moving to turn. Wolfwood, scared by her new form, and hoping the wolves would still see her as their own was slow to react as the nearest wolf lunged out at her. The powerful beast slammed into her taking her down to the ground. Its claws rose up, and sliced down towards her, but with a powerful show of speed and strength, Wolfwood somehow pulled her arms out from under her, catching the wolf's arms as they slammed down towards her. With just a bit of leverage, she bent one knee, and kicked backwards with it. This succeeded in flipping her over onto the wolf's side, with a quick twist she snapped the beasts neck and returned to her feet. At this exact moment the other wolf rushed up, it growled and rose up onto its huanches, ready to strike. Wolfwood, feeling a sudden surge of confidence from the lucky attack on the other wolf, brought her arms up, ready to strike. The wolf went for her legs first though and Wolfwood dropped low to the ground, as her knees bent, and she dropped to her tips toes, the claws narrowly missed the cartilage in her feet. However, this beast knew how to fight something much bigger than it. The wolf immediately struck again, this time directly for her face. Wolfwood reeled back as blood splattered all around, two long cuts, bled profusely, both though, wer underneath her eyes and with a massive howl, She tackled the wolf. Her hands curled into deadly fists, as she rained punch after punch after punch at the wolf, ribs shattered, a leg, its skull bled next and finally... finally after what felt like hours, but could really only have been seconds, Wolfwood stopped. She let the now dead wolf slump to the ground and stood to her feet. Her eyes wide, and scared, she let out a blood-curdling scream. And then... oddly enough... "Thank you for sparing my life..." She said, though in the language of grunts, barks and howls that only a canine could understand. She has since spent her time in the wilderness mostly, although in human form. Hunting, gathering, living her life, its all been one big pleasure-fest, well until one more notable event that has altered her life heavily. One day, while in human form Wolfwood found herself in a town, that she never cared to learn the name of. Back in one of the darker corners she found a building. Being naturally inquisitive, Wolfwood decided to enter. Obviously she was completely butt-ass naked. And apparently whoever was inside wasn't fond of it, because within seconds Wofwood found herself in the single most comfortable outfit she'd ever worn in her entire life. They called it a Ghee, and refused to say what material it was made out of. But whatever, all she knew was it was cute and almost as comfortbale as running around naked. Even better was that on the day they finally 'let' her take one away, she found it was just loose enough for her to transform without to much alteration. The first transformation destroyed that Ghee however... BUT the next day, when she came back for another, and again was 'allowed' to take it, she decided to make a few alterations. Ripping the neck a bit to make room for some fur, a rip near the butt, covered with a small flap off cloth she just tucked in a bit, to let her tail out. The pants were already loose and flexible enough as is, it was perfect, a suit she could move around in as a human or wolf. Her curiosity however was insatiable, what were those people doing there with these amazing 'Ghee'? Well that was quickly answered witin the next few days. Upon her next visit instead of stealing- er... being 'allowed' to take another Ghee, she arrived in her modified Ghee and stayed to watch. It was a hand-to-hand combat center. People came in to simply beat each other up... it was pure bliss. This one event right here could very well have been the start of her infatuation with violence, though more likely its the reason for our next event, which finally catches us up to our current date. After a few... well lets face it... weeks, she's a flighty chick. She left the the city, and that little odd fighters guild forever, however the basic moves she learned provided a basis for a new passion. Martial Arts, Hand-to-Hand combat, something she felt would suit her much better than any sort of clumsy sword. Deep in the wilderness, Wolfwood has been training, teaching herself. Honing a deadly skill, a martial art quite similar to the ones she'd seen. She'd come to call it Wing Chun, a style built to attack and defend at the same time. She felt quite proud of herself. And finally we are brought to the present, deep in some wilderness outside of some town, which she also may never actually find the name of. Training: Hunting:16 Martial Arts: 15 Escape Artist: 5 Meditation: 7 Tracking: 7 Equipment and Possessions Clothing: Slightly modified to fit extremely loosely Ghee. The Ghee is quite simply a white vest, fixed with loose-fitting, yet almost formal-looking sleeves. The bottom of the vest cuts off just above the waist. It also has a pair of extremely loose fitting pants, modified with a crude cut up the pant-legs to nearly the thigh. The shoes were impossible to modify and thus no longer exist (destroyed in both the first and second transformations) There is no belt. 1 waterskin that attaches around a loop made for a belt on the ghee with a small string. 1 roughskin backpack with enough food for a week. (Strips of sun-dried meat and fruit and two loaves of bread. 1 small eating knife (quite dull now, she used it to 'modify her ghee) Flint and Steel (she has no clue what they're used for, but unlike the toiletries, she kept them since the steel was shiny and the flint looked sharp.) Family Heirloom: Necklace adorned with what is possibly a large canine-Kelvic tooth. She assumes it must have belonged to her mother, and found that it was tangled up in her fur in her Wolf form one day. Since then it has hung around her neck in both forms.
